This my friends is the rather snazzy group gift from Pixel Dolls.
It’s a lovely dress called ‘Chess’, which really isn’t my kind of thing at all, BUT, as Pete Tong might say, “Oooh, that works”. It does indeed actually; the gift is called ‘Midnight’ and is a blue and black off the shoulder frock-affair. It features all the usual quality traits that you’d expect from Pixel Dolls, like a great texture when you zoom in, but I really love the fluid feeling that you get from the organza/fishnet trimmings that haphazardly fall from under the skirt. The straps don’t *quite* work as well as I’d like, but hey that’s a minor issue…I want a dress to look very good when I wear it, and ‘Chess’ does that very well indeed.
Like I said previously this really isn’t my thing at all ( I very nearly didn’t even try it on) but when you add my current skin du jour from Curio, and the hair that I just cannot stop wearing at the moment, Dana by Zero Style, then you have a look just the right side of 1980′s sleazy. In fact it would lend itself to an 80′s disco theme very well, replete with New Romantic make up and fingerless lace gloves, don’t you think?
Pop over to Pixel Dolls and you’ll find ‘Chess’ available in a variety of fruity colourways..or you could always cheat and join the group and check out the notices..AHEM. I’d rather you poddled over and bought one though, PD is a constant on the grid and has been churning out affordable fashion pieces for a long time now, and it deserves your support. Incidentally..for the photo I was trying to make the picture look like a sleazy late 1970′s movie poster..you know the kind of thing that would have Mary Millington starring in it, or such-like..
Since putting this on I’ve been inclined towards singing ‘One Night in Bangkok’ by Murray Head, from the musical ‘Chess’..cracking song that…hence the title of the post.
So there you have it, Chess by Pixel Dolls. Kitty *LIKE*
I’m listening to Alison Moyet at the moment- hence the title, but I can think of nothing more appropriate for this skin. Obviously this being an arty shot you can’t really see all the details, but trust me..this is a truly amazing male skin. It’s from Belleza, and I implore you-JOIN THEIR GROUP! Yes, it will cost you, but as I think I’ve said before it is the BEST L$250 you will ever spend*, because all the preview skins that they have sent out to Jez have been amazing..he’s looked wonderful in every single one and I insist, nay demand that he remains a beautiful Belleza boy…
The skin is called Jonas. Sorry teenyboppers, but in this skin I seriously think that Jez is the best looking Jonas brother….
(*Join the group now and you’ll find the skin in the archives…HURRY FELLAS! The gorgeous girlies of the grid demand yummy fellas!)
So, your head disappears up your own arse for a couple of weeks and things slooowww dooowwwn. Well, I’m trying to get my mojo back, and it’s just had a major boost by reading this blogpost. Now, not only is this a huge ego boost for me, look, this blog is ELEVENTH!! BUT it’s also an amazing collection of the best blogs that the metaverse has to offer, and you would do well to save the list and peruse at your leisure. My god, look at it guys- that’s SOME list of corking blogs! Happy happy joy! If you’re like me and you live to read (obsessively) then there is more than enough to swell your bookmarks and basically turn you into the shiniest Second Lifer around. A huge BIG-UP to ArminasX Saiman for compiling this list..that’s some feat guy! ( Incidentally, I didn’t realise I had a Technorati ranking..or perhaps I did and I forgot…)
You know how it is, you wanna go down to the beach but there’s still a chill in the air…fear not, I say! Team the ESSENTIAL Aoharu denim jacket with some fantastic Reaction Surfwear shorts and the amazing SLINK Men’s Sandals and you have a perfect beachcomber look, whatever the weather!
Yes..prim toes for boys..and they look brilliant!
Nom Nom NOM!!!
Mike Burleigh’s wonderful in-world memorial garden is where you’ll find a beautiful memorial to Deedee, but when I learned that the Lindens had also created a new memorial area then of course I had to visit. One of the really nice things about it is a feature that really brought a lump to my throat..On the beach you can select a candle, name it, choose the colour and then an animation can be launched that allows you to set the candle upon the water and watch as it floats away. A really simple but effective way to remember a loved one. I think it’s lovely, and if you’ve lost anyone in RL and SL I suggest you visit. When you’ve done that, and if your emotions can take anymore, go and see Mike’s memorial park. He’s remodelled it and it looks really lovely..thanks Mike for providing such a wonderful resource to us all. ( Incidentally, Mike’s wonderful work relies heavily on donations, so please donate a few Lindens to a very worthy cause)
Hello gang- Kitty here! It’s a quicky mind, but a good one. I’ve just discovered a new nifty MENS fashion blog and it features some really great clothing and looks, and has already led me to a new store, Argrace, which is FABULOUS! ( I’ll be featuring it again very shortly) Anyways, this rather fab hat and hair was featured on Irregular Guy’s pages and I just new it would look great on hisnibs, so I dragged him there sharpish like and well, see for yourself….he really is a tasty burger isn’t he? Nom NOM NOM!Anyway, it’s a colour change hat and the hair curls around the brim around the back in a really fabulous uber realistic way. I know summer is almost upon us but it can be any season in SL, and you always need a good hat for bad hair days…this one fits the bill and is a measley L$250..As Pa Larkin would say, “Perfick”. Now stop looking at my Jezmond and go and visit ‘Irregular Guy’
..but nothing too drastic. Jez here, holding the fort while Kitty gets her RL sorted (new job, other new stresses) but hope you’ve noticed the new look blog and my new look hairstyle, courtesy of a tip off from an excellent fashion site, http://shopwithtakeshi.blogspot.com.
Hold onto your fashion hats; it won’t be long before the Kitty-Cat returns…
Until then, I’m your Goblin-twatting friend,
