..AMAZING marketing opportunity.
Stephanie Meyer, the author behind the Twilight saga, releases a new book on June 5th and it’s expected to be the bestseller of the year. No surprise there really. The book follows the life of Bree, a Vampire who features in ‘Eclipse’, the third novel, and describes how she forms part of a Vampire army that rises up against Bella and Edward. The book will go on sale at 5.05 am on June 5 as a hardback and an e-book will be available the same day at 11am. There’s also going to be a dedicated website, http://www.breetanner.com, where for a limited period fans will be able to read the 192 page novella online.
But here’s the best bit; the book is called “The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner”
Now, can you see where I’m coming from here? If I was the Linden’s marketing department I’d be beating down the door of the Little, Brown publishing house to get involved here, because the amount of twi-hards who will be queuing around the block to get hold of a copy of this book will be immense, and if an in-world tie-in were to be promoted it would have the potential to bring a lot of fresh blood into Second Life…excuse the pun. The possibilities are endless; a Twilight inspired forest world perhaps? A virtual recreation of Bella and Edwards home? A way of reading the e-book in-world?
Just a thought….
I’ve gone all scholastic in this look featuring a rather delicious skin from Mango Mango which costs just L$69
today!! It’s called Vamp and is absolutely stunning, I can’t actually get over how beautiful the skin is for the money, and you’re going to see me wearing it a lot in the coming posts.
I’m also wearing an outfit that to be honest I wouldn’t normally wear, but I actually cannot resist this blouse with it’s funky ruffle and the high waisted skirt. They’re by 5th & Oxford and they are just divine, both the ‘Jori’ skirt and the blouse are available in a myriad of colours and make for lots of mix ‘n’ match happy. I think they look perfect with the glasses and hair and the whole image is very preppy. Right, you’d better have an apple waiting for me or there’s going to be trouble!

My ‘Four Elements’ series of shapes-Earth, Air, Fire and Water-have been blogged my the ever wonderful Sydd Sinister. Sydd has a fabulous blog, ‘The Black Blogger’, and she has an amazing flair for creating funky and stylish looks on her pages. I’ll be honest, I have no idea how she does it..her inventory must take a week to upload each time she logs on for starters and her pictures are always beautifully composed. Where does she find the time? Sydd is an expert at getting the best out of a shape and an outfit. She’s created looks using my shapes that I would never have considered, and shown just how versatile they really are, which is awesome for me to see. My favourite look that she’s created uses ‘Fire’ as the shape and is a real treat, kind of urban rock chick. All the shapes that Sydd has featured are available at my Second Style Island location, where there are also demos for you to try before you buy. Demos are of course free, and each shape is a mere L$100….put simply, when you see what Sydd has done with them you’d be daft not to indulge:) Thank you Sydd for your inspirational photos! Click HERE to go and see for yourself…and check out Sydd’s blog on a regular basis for inspirational looks, it’s one of the best:)
