Kitty Essentials

This stunner of an outfit is from Nicky Ree. It’s called ‘Black Swan’ and consists of gown, jacket, skirt and gloves. There’s also a headpiece that I’m not wearing. Nicky was invited by Rezzable to produce an outfit for their theme ‘Fashion inspired by Black Swan’, and she’s not only risen to their challenge, but surpassed it by a mile. The prim work on this is *stunning*, the feathers are just perfect and I personally think that this is the best gown that Nicky has produced so far, and that is a girl who knows how to design!  The outfit is L$1500, which is pricey I know, BUT entirely worth it. I you’re in any way Gothically inclined it’s a must have, and of course you could wear it at Halloween.  I’m wearing it as it just suits my mood this week, and I know for a fact that if DeeDee saw it she’d have been fighting me for it! To compliment the outfit there are skins available by Nuala and they’re beautiful and delicate.  I’m wearing skin number three, and I think it captures Kitty’s mood perfectly.  My pentacle and earrings are old reliables from my inventory, from Earthstones.

Black swan also features workfrom the following designers:Sissy Pessoa, Kuranosuke Kamachi, Digit Darkes, Roslin Petion, Rebel Hope, Nicky Ree, Eshi Otawara, Hyasynth Tiramisu, Draconic Lioncourt, and Callie Cline.

It’s well worth a visit, but take some lindens with you..click here to be whisked away to this wonderful, visionary space. Check out my Flickr stream if you want to see better images of it, as this shot in no way does it justice.

Old Essentials Entries below:

This is the Vanessa gown from Layniewear.  It’s a freebie that shouldn’t have been (main blog entry here) but as you can see it’s a classy little number and especially pretty in a 1950’s kinda way.  If you go and pick this freebie up, do me a favour-peruse some of Laynies other items that she has for sale.  designers should not be forced into giving items away for free after all.

The next outfit is a real change of era.  Bianca F released the utterly stupendous Jagger outfit and it’s just glorious.  The trousers really do seem to have a genuine looseness about them-it’s been captured really well, and the top sits perfectly on the torso.  The outfit comes with prim sleeves, a lovely gold sculptie belt and a floppy 1970’s hat,  but I have to admit I like wearing it like this! Yes, it does look like the kind of outfit Bianca Jagger wore in that decade.  It also comes in white, and I think both are a sound investment..imagine turning up at Studio 59 in this lil’ number

Finally, take a look at this classically styled gown..think late 1930’s elegance and imagine a white (FAKE) fur stole around your shoulders.  This gown is from Icing, and it was the final item my eyes rested on at their KMADD fashion extravaganza the other night prior to a monumental crash. I couldn’t get back in and was *gutted*.  But isn’t it beautiful? I also think it’s prefect for a spring wedding, either for Bride OR Bridesmaids.  I’m wearing an Essentia hair rose in the picture below and I feel it compliments the outfit perfectly..imagine how beautiful this would look with a bouquet :)

Previous Essentials entries:

Not had much time to be blogging this week which has irked me no end.  BUT the days that I could blog were full of fashion happy bliss! As I previously blogged this week I attended the Baiastice fashion show, which was absolutely wonderful.  It will be a long time before I attend an event as glorious methinks, and of course I snaffled some bodacious items to show you! ( Courtesy of the rather wonderful designer, Sissy Pessoa) Also, this week saw the return of Canimal after a refit.  Blimey she’s done herself proud, and I’m particularly loving the dress in the second picture below.

Of course I also visited Snatch and Tesla AGAIN this week.  I can’t help it, these stores ROCK!!

So here are some shots with details of outfits worn.  I popped over to ‘The Lost Gardens of Apollo’ and also to ‘The Greenhouse’ for some suitably stunning backdrops.  I hope you like-there are further images to be seen on my Flickr :)

The next outfit is from Canimal, and it’s a stunning dress.  Looking in my inventory I found some ripped stockings that I bought from there ages ago and I think they work perfectly, as does the necklace, again a previous Canimal purchase.(What I’m trying to say here is I don’t think it’s available anymore, but I’d like to be proved wrong)  The shoes and tattoos are as worn previously from Tesla and Sn@tch.

I was going to write a shopping list for you like my previous dispatch but alas, in my usual ’shitty ol’fool’ fashion I’ve lost the bit of paper ( I’m so organised, me) with all the details on, and as much as it would pain me (NOT) to go to all these shops again alas I don’t have the time in RL to do that today.

So, here’s a compromise, a list of SLURLS to all the stores mentioned.

I got the best bag *EVER* in Second Life from  Celestial Studios.  The Hobo Bag is bag perfection, comes in all sorts of wonderful colours and basically almost made my bladder explode with sheer happiness. If you don’t add one to your wardrobe then you are clearly unwell..this is accessory happiness in a bag form.  ‘Nuff said.

My accessory happiness was amplified by Tesla.  Her amazing ‘Enchant’ and ‘Solaris’ sunglasses as well as her ’Vinyl Vixens’ heels are officially this Kitty’s whiskers.  In fact, since I got the heels I haven’t taken them off!  At this point I must fess up, they were a gift from Codie for participating in the ‘Boudoir Rouge’ fashion shoot, but had I spotted them I’d have bought them anyway.  They are *glorious*.

Forget ‘Fuck me boots’, these are ‘Shag me shoes!’.

Film Noir Kitty

I fell *deeply* in love with two stores this week; Orchid Dreams and Snatch.  Both of these stores offer astounding fashion at more than reasonable prices, but their styles couldn’t be more different!

Snatch is grungy, gothy but in NO way nasty.  You HAVE to check this store out-the designer, Ivey, creates outfits that she’d love to wear in real life and they are just wonderful. A particular favourite of mine is the ‘Film Noir’ gown.  If you were lucky enough to be in her subscribe-o-matic group you would have bagged this baby for free, but fear not it’s available in store and is probably one of the nicest gowns I own.  It’s simple, can be worn long OR short, and comes with the best sheer scarf I have ever worn in SL.  In fact, I’ve been mixing and matching it with other outfits. I also have to point out that Ivey is exceptionally generous with her group members and has given some great outfits out recently. Go and look at her Snatch!

Kirei Kitty

Above: Kirei by Orchid Dreams, Kaitey Hair from Diversity,

Shoes by Tesla, Bag by Starley.

Orchid dreams is a complete contrast.  Oriental clothing but with a modern twist, the Kirei outfit is an essential purchase for your Spring wardrobe. The gorgeous duck egg blue kimono top and contrast pants are an essential look for next season.  (Incidentally, the Hobo bag comes in a few shades that would look spectacular with this outfit!) Say ‘Konichiwa’ to Orchid Dreams!

Of course I couldn’t go a week without more hair (yes I know…) and it’s wonderful.  The  ’Kaitey’ hair (mad spelling huh?) from Diversity Hair is a messy short and chic style with volume at the crown and works really well with both casual and formal styles. I went for the naturals pack and was so pleased that I did, the colours and textures are superb and Kitty looks yummy as a blonde! You won’t be ‘Kaitey cornered’ with this fabbo style!

So your shopping list this week is as follows:
