There’s always been a Witchy shop at Spiritwood, but it appears that there’s been some redesigning going on, as the contents of the store have changed. This is actually a good thing, as it’s the first store that I’ve visited where you can buy herb jars in Second Life..replete with contents. The store is now called Nocturna, and I was lucky enough to visit when the proprietor Dakota Goulet was there, and she was really accommodating and evidently a hard worker! She told me that she’ll be bringing healing oils and spells into the store in the near future, so definitely LM this one if you’re keen on collecting. The herbs are situated as you enter the store to your left, if you see a herb you are interested in simply click the vendor for a notecard which describes the correspondences for that particular herb, and its use in spellcraft. A nice little extra that makes these spell jars all the more appealing, and when you consider Dakota has created 72 of these it must have taken bloody ages, hence my comment about her being a hard worker
The jars themselves are tiny and pretty simple constructions with a texture inside the glass, and would be perfect additions if you’re planning on building a witch workshop in SL, and require some herbs to adorn your shelves. You’ll be spoiled for choice for your spellcraft too, as there are 72 herbs to choose from all for a mere L$50 each! Oh, and they’re only 2 prims per jar and uber cute! You’ll also find rugs, decorated candles, colour-changing candles, plants and a working tarot table at Nocturna. It’s a store that really deserves repeat visits, and whilst you’re there check out ‘Jessie’s Balls’ behind it. NO, it’s definitely not what you’re thinking, lol! Dakota’s husband makes poses and has some high priestess and high priest animated poses or sale (amongst others) and they’re a tasty L$300 apiece. They would be great choices for a ritual circle, so once you’ve been and stocked up on your herbs nip behind Nocturna and go and play with ‘Jessie’s Balls’ (Sorry, I couldn’t resist it)
Nocturna is herbalicious!
Obviously with the weeks events playing so heavily on my mind that I’m not able to blog much at the mo. However, one thing that I take comfort from is my Wiccan faith. I’m not pretending that it has all the answers, the loss of one so loved is undeniably cruel, but it does give me modest comfort. I do firmly believe that when we die that it isn’t an ending, merely a different kind of beginning, and even though Dee is no longer on the material plane, I’m sure that she is now on the spiritual. Human beings need things to be black and white..we tend to get unsettled when shades of grey are involved..my gut tells me that although I can’t see my friend she’s still around me. Anyway, because reality sucks big style at the moment, I decided to venture in world for a mooch around. (Even that’s hard as I have such fond memories of Dee and me exploring together, but she’d want me to carry on in my usual style
I decided to go and light a virtual candle at one of my favourite in-world stone circles (apart from my own of course) at Spiritwood, but when I tp’d in I was gutted to see that it has been replaced by a rather large castle. There is still a stone circle there, but it’s a different kind, all monoliths and megaliths and frankly not as appealing, so I wandered around the sim for a while.
