Strawberry Singh’s latest meme is all about acrostic poetry.

I’ve not dabbled in this since I was in junior school, a very long time ago, so it was great fun. A challenge, but entertaining nontheless!

Here’s my creation for your reading pleasure, ahem:

Kindness and caring are this Kitty’s thing,

Is it really so hard to be nice?

Truth is for some it’s a pretty big deal,

Those drama-avatars who’re ‘keeping it real’

You’re so cold with your hearts full of ice!

“Oh really?” You say spilling negative vibes,

“This attitude makes me a star!”

Of course I respond to your immature lies,

“Obviously it will help you go far..”

Learn to respect all your Second Life friends,

Empathy proves who you actually are.

I tried to keep it Second Life themed, and it ended up becoming a jab at those avatars whose sole aim in their second lives is to be bitchy and dramatic. I’m sure you’ve encountered them by now!

There is a ridiculous amount of drama in SL.  It’s the only thing that spoils the environment in my mind. I honestly cannot deal with it, and never understand it.

Do people think because they are pixels on a screen that they need to leave their manners at log-in?

I’m exactly the same in my second life as I am in my real life.  That means I treat everyone how I want to be treated, with respect. Surely that’s not so hard to do?

I have had this picture on my desktop for about two weeks now; I’ve been trying to think of a really substantial quote for a cause I totally support.  But alas, my troll brain wasn’t playing nice and I was struggling to find inspiration…

So I looked at my Stand4Love post from last year, and realised I’d actually said then what I needed to say.

My feelings haven’t changed, so my quote remains the same.

We all need to make a Stand4love.

You know, we’re really lucky in Second Life to have such a great variety of pose creators in-world. They share their wonderful poses and props with us so that we can convey a myriad of actions, emotions and activities on our blogs and in our photographs. We’d be lost without them.

I’m always eager to find new poses, and I  was DELIGHTED by Gidge Uriza’s latest pose collection that was released this week.

Gidge is the talent behind the ‘Pretense’ label (love the name, was formally Status Poses) and released a five pose pack called ‘Styptic’, and it’s sublime. It’s all about simple, fluid poses for when you want to look naturally posed in your photographs. The transitions between poses are gentle and they work wonderfully well; I’m really loving them.

You may be surprised to learn that it is actually incredibly difficult to create well-balanced, natural poses, but Gidge has risen to the challenge and met it head on with gusto. These are just fabulous.

 I think ‘Styptic’ going to be my favourite pose set for a while to come, and an essential pack for bloggers to have in their inventory. Well done Gidge, I’m really looking forward to your next Pretense release!
