Under Your Love Spell

Hair by Truth, Lingerie by Muse from Moon Elixir.

Something I could REALLY get into in Second Life, and I think I’ve confessed as much on these pages before, is virtual lingerie. I sure do like me some fancy knickers and bras, and if you throw in a corset and some stockings you’ll definitely have me doing a virtual happy dance.
I like my fancy under-crackers in real life too BUT honestly, quality bras and knickers literally cost a small fortune, so there’s nothing fancy in my real life closet. But in my virtual closet? There are items in there that Bordelle and Agent Provocateur would fight over. To be perfectly honest quality mesh lingerie isn’t especially cheap in-world either, but at least I get to wear it in one of my lives, right? The latest round of KINKY has hit the grid and it’s one of those events that I visit but the majority of items on display don’t really appeal or have any relevance. I’m not a virtual lover so the equipment that I tend to see sold at such events holds little interest for me. Granted I may giggle and look aghast (“YOU STICK THAT WHERE?!”) but I won’t be walking out with a suitcase full of equipment, although I’m happy to report that when I visited there was plenty of patrons in attendance and more than a few were clearly interested in this month’s offerings. I visit purely for the lingerie, and this month I’ve been made more than happy by the inclusion of a simply scrumptious set from MUSE, a lingerie label from MOON ELIXIR. For a start it’s called ‘Love Spell’ so I kinda had to have it due to the name alone, but there’s so much more to this outfit than mere romantic alchemy. Think ribbons, lace and a sublime boned corset with a bra that doesn’t as much allow your nipples to peek over but yell “I’m over here and require your attention NOW!” This outfit is just one of those items that you put on in your virtual bedroom and admire yourself in. Well, that’s what I’ve been doing for the best part of the last hour and I’m not even close to being tired yet. It’s just absolutely bewitching and wonderfully sculpted with great attention to details such as the shape, seams and lace application. You can even purchase matching stockings and shoes to fully coordinate the look. If you have the Linden dollars to spare I highly recommend that you splurge and fat-pack EVERYTHING if you’re able. Alas, I had to be selective so opted for a lovely beige nude shade called ‘Tawny’ ( I totally did not buy it because it reminded me of owls. OK I might have done..) but even if you just invest in single pieces you’ll find that there are plenty of ways to make your look unique, with huds that allow you to change the colours of various elements such as the ribbons and the corset boning. I found that changing some items to a black trim, such as the boning in the corset, added an edgier feel to an otherwise classic look. You can also elect to hide the ribbons as well, should you so wish, but I chose to wear mine in their full on ribbon glory. I honestly adore it. I am completely entranced and it definitely has me under a spell (all puns intended with no shame!) I think if you’re looking for something super romantic for Valentine’s Day then you’d be daft not to at least demo these pieces. It is quite honestly just a lovely set of lingerie to own and wear, and if you’re so inclined I urge you to visit KINKY in-world to get your paws on it, and view the variety of other wares this month that may tickle your fancy! Happy New Year!

Thank you all, dear Kittyreaders, for sticking by me through thick and thin. It has been a rough year in RL for me and I’m ready to start 2020 feeling fresh, fancy and new.

It’s my 13th Rez Day on 30th December!!!!!

I never thought I’d be still in Second Life all these years later, let alone still blogging about it but there’s still so much to see, to try and to fall in love with.

I’m going to try to get back into a better blogging routine so I can share more of the best of Second Life with you. I hope to explore the virtual world a tad more in the new year (especially now I’ve got a wonderful new graphics card, thank you to my beloved for that!)

What do I want to see in-world in SL in 2020? More people to experience what SL is truly about. Since mesh arrived I’ve been truly in awe of some of the creations that I’ve seen this year, and mesh heads and bodies have significantly changed the game for all of us. Add Bento into the mix and well, we’ve come a long way baby!

I’m grateful to Linden Lab for keeping this world of wonder going for so long. I do think that in 2020 they need to concentrate on Second Life rather than Sansar, which just hasn’t taken off in the way that they thought it would. Second Life is still turning a profit, so it’s only right that it should be their priority. I want to see new innovations for us avatars to enjoy, along with more benefits for being members. I don’t think that resident opinions are taken account of in the way that they should be either, and I feel that has been the way for far too long. Perhaps the dawning of the new decade will see the changes that Second Life needs to keep growing, expanding and being a place that so many love. I’m proud to be in Second Life, and always will be. Here’s to 2020 making me even prouder to be an avatar!

(Dress is from Erratic, it’s called ‘Yennifer’ and it’s bloody gorgeous, perfect for a NYE party! Headband is a free gift from Yummy! and I heartily suggest you go and grab one because it comes with one of those thingybobs that you stick in your chops and blow and it unrolls and basically annoys the hell out of everyone, so yeah, there’s that….)

Party like it’s a new decade!

I think it’s a fair assumption to say that for most of us, 2019 has been a bit of a stinker of a year. For me personally it’s been an absolutely horrible time, and I will be celebrating with my beloved and generally being very chuffed that we can tell 2019 to piddle off into the sunset.

2020: new decade, new beginnings and all that….

If you want to bring 2020 in in style then you MUST get yourselves over to UBER SL to see what Ria Bazar has created for us. It’s an absolutely glorious table and tableware set, with plates that rez actual food and glasses that rez water and your preferred alcohol selection, along with a drinks trolley that you can fill with a champagne tower and confetti and balloons galore!

The marble table and matching drinks trolley are accompanied with bang on trend clear plastic seating. You can simply rez the whole lot in a few seconds using the rezzer included in the entire package. It’s like magic. You can also buy parts individually which is super convenient, I for one know there will be elements of this set that I will be keeping on display at home well into the new decade.

The thing with Ria’s work is it’s ALWAYS been about the details, and there are plenty of those on display from the patterned and functional tableware to the food that you can rez in your bowls. It’s a lot of fun to discover whats on the menu so I won’t list it all and spoil it all for you; but who knew there were so many risotto options?

I placed my drinks cart to the side and decorated it with a couple of bottles of plonk, a fabulous champagne glass tower and on the bottom shelf I added the ‘Countdown Clock’ cake from Andika, also available at UBER SL

I’ve basically rezzed all of it along with the number balloons and it looks absolutely great. I’m not sure if anyone will come to the party, but jokes on them if they miss out on all this lovely, lovely booze and food and cake! I’ve developed an extra chin and love handle over Christmas, won’t hurt to add a few more inches…

The entire set costs a measly L$589, but parts of it are also available separately (all prices in Linden dollars, obviously):

Table: L$129

Chair: L$159

Place setting: L$119

Boxed Balloon: L$49

Champagne: L$25

Rose: L$25

Cart:L$89

Champagne tower: L$49

Confetti: L$25

Texture options include: gold, silver and rose gold.

Number Balloons set costs L$329, with individual numbers on sale for L$49 (Again, the set includes gold, silver and rose gold options)

I’ve said it before and it bears repeating, Ria Bazar REALLY puts the effort into her work and this is a creation that will give you a lot of joy, not just on New Year’s Eve but throughout 2020 and beyond.

Blessed Kittymas!

Here’s wishing a wonderful Yuletide to all of my readers; one of the issues I’ve experienced this year is that due to an aging PC I haven’t been able to run SL effectively. Anyone in-world will understand that can cause a real problem and ultimately render logging in a challenging experience, to the point that it puts you off going online at all.

Well, ‘Santa’ has blessed me with some brand new hardware for my PC and I swear it’s like running on butter. I can now use high graphics card settings again, depth of field..it is, as a famous song would suggest, a ‘whole new world’

So here’s to 2019, bugger off you rancid pile of potato dung. I’ve had a shit year. I know many people who also have had the same; here’s hoping 2020 and the start of out new decade will be kinder. (Incidentally I will be back before NYE to share a gorgeous set that Ria Bazar has just released and you may want to consider for any New year shindig you plan on having; until then, have a wonderfully festive time!)
