Hello everyone and I hope you’re all having a wonderful festive holiday season!
Well, the holidays have treated me exceptionally well. I’ve been completely and utterly spoiled silly-in fact Santa brought me an i-pod Touch so that I can blog and twitter from the comfort of my bed or even bog, should I so desire;P
I’ve obviously not been on the grid much seeing as RL festivities rightly take the place of SL ones, but I’ve *JUST* realised that it’s my rez-day in 2 days time! That’s right, in two days I will be one SL year old! YIKES!
I’m sat reflecting on my year, and BOY have I come a long way! When I first joined the metaverse I thought I looked fine and had no need of hair, clothes or skin. I promised myself I’d give it two weeks to see if I liked it. I got hooked.I rented a home in Pitcairn, filled it with junk, exceeded my prim limit, rented a bigger house then bit the bullet and bought some land in Jasper:) My social life suddenly became amazingly important. Instead of coming home of an evening, cooking supper and retiring to bed early with a good book I was clubbing every night, having been introduced to the ‘Three Lions’by ny good chum Whoosh Shatner. It became my local, and there wasn’t many nights out of the week where you wouldn’t find me dancing like a loon. In fact, at this point it probably started to get a tad silly- Jez and I weren’t living together in RL so we spent most weekday evenings apart. This meant I was coming home from RL work logging on and staying in SL for hours on end, usually accompanied by a bottle of wine. Looking back I think it was a potential problem that got nipped in the bud sharpish by Jez. I took a raincheck, and now I don’t feel quite so bad if I’m not online every single night of the week;P I’m happily addicted though. I love my hair and my clothes, something that I am really not bothered about at all in RL (and if you saw me you’d realise how true that statement is!)I started a blog, this one obviously, and I’m happy to say it’s become pretty successful. My Flickr pictures have become really popular and I even got myself a proper paying job, as a reporter for ‘The Avastar’. As you all know if you read this on a regular basis the 3L is no more, but the spirit lives on in various ventures that the staff have developed. I now have a new local, ‘The Crown and Pearl’. It’s a very different venue to 3L for a start but the music and company are just as excellent. (In fact if you haven’t already been there I heartily suggest that pay a visit)
So what of next year- just what will 2008 bring to Kitty O’Toole?
Well, I hope to expand the blog and increase readership. That’s a vanity project, obviously. I’d also like to see my modelling career take off a bit more. On a more personal level I’d really love to get my head around scripting and building a bit more, but I do struggle with it, as I have confessed before. I guess therefore my main ambition for 2008 is to enjoy my Second Life just as much as I have done in 2007, only this time I want it to be bigger, better, faster, harder….ach, you get the idea!
Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous 2008! Big hugs, Kitty xxx
