This is mad- I had no idea about this until now!  When I chose the name ‘Kittywitchin’ for this blog I did it because it combined my name (Kitty, obviously) hinted at my obsession with cats,  and also incorporated the word ‘Witch’, being a practitioner of Witchcraft in RL and SL it was important for me to get that in. (Note-I could have written ‘practitioner of the arts magical’ there and I’m sure it would have sounded better but contrary to popular belief I am NOT that pretentious!) However I had NO knowledge that there were actually once womenfolk known as ‘Kittywitches’, until just now! These ladies hailed from Great Yarmouth (Went on holiday there once as a youngling, very nice) and were obviously BONKERS, and this is where the similarity with me ends. They would dress-up in their husbands clothing, smear blood on their faces and demand money from the locals, or beer.  They were probably widows with no income so were driven to these extremes. It’s really intriguing so I need to find out more., I found a video that some ladies have produced recreating the Kittywitches and their exploits.  (Should you be interested, you can see it on my Vodpod, or click here)
