Riding a panda at ‘Le Zoo’

Riding a panda at ‘Le Zoo’

You would think the run-up to Christmas couldn’t possibly be any better than opening your advent calendar and devouring the choccy inside, but oooh it is! I’m happy to say there’s a new shopping centre in SL by the name of ‘Le Zoo’ and it is a smasher! For a start, it is a Zoo;the build is highly detailed, clearly laid out and there are LOTS of animals. My first impression was that it conveys that sense of loneliness that you often experience when walking around RL Zoos on a cold drizzly Winters day. (London Zoo had that effect on me I’m afraid to say:() Having said that there’s a really appealling originality about the place, as well as a sense of humour. For example, a Rhino has broken her way through the window of ‘Chapeau Tres Mignon’ and is merrily eating some of the wares! She’s also left a huge pile of doo-doo in the centre of the store..it’s actually a posing stand! (What a clever touch) You will be amazed at the quality shops that have taken up residence in this place. We’re talking names like Tuli, Calla, Icing, Punch Drunk, Eolandes, Muse, Philotic Energy, Marlys any many many others. There are some I’ve never visited before such as ‘Fancy Schmancy’ and I look forward to exploring these with gusto and lots of Lindens in my pocket:)Bear in mind that the majority of these are satellite stores and obviously they will be too small to offer their full range.   Don’t be put off by this, I love these kinds of places as you get a great build to explore and a taste of what the designers involved have to offer. (Many of them have landmarks to their flagship locations as well.) A couple of shops are still in the process of setting up but it doesn’t detract from the overall feel of the place.  It’s defo worthy of a landmark. To tempt you even further there are FREEBIES galore as well, including cuddly animals and a pack of FANTASTIC logo t-shirts from the admission booth ( I’m not saying what’s on them-only that if you miss out you won’t be happy.  they’re only available this weekend!) Some of the stores are being lovely and giving gifts out  too-a nice necklace from Calla for a start.  Go and make yourself a brew and come and visit ‘Le Zoo’.

Poorly Jezza

Poorly Jezza

..and perhaps I’m not going to see the in-laws this weekend after all 😦 ( I’m actually sad about that as mine are *lovely*)

Jez woke me up this morning in the wee small hours and he is a very poorly lad- there is some sort of sicky thing going around these ‘ere parts at the moment and alas he seems to have it.  Touch-wood I’m OK at the moment, but he is a very odd colour and radiates a rather interesting odour….

Anyhoo, like the concerned girlfriend that I am he was quickly whisked off to the nearest medical facility for immediate treatment with the resident proctologist! ( Har har evil chuckles)

Oooh a quicky before I forget!

Oooh a quicky before I forget!

If you aren’t already members of ‘The Avastar Readers’ then get enlisted now, as every day through December they’ll be giving away a quality freebie to group members only…and ‘Ivalde’ is also running with the advent theme, every day there will be a different giveaway at the store.  You gotta be in it to win it! Woot! ( I’m away for the weekend so will miss a couple, but I’ll catch up when I get back)

Thank you!!

Thank you!!

Today has been my best day ever since I started my blog..over 80 people have paid me a visit. That is fantastic and I’m utterly delighted that you have all bothered to stop by and read my witterings. Seriously, it really does mean a lot, as I know there are squillions of SL blogs out there vying for your attention, so it means a great deal that you’ve stopped by to read mine!As you can see I’ve donned a festive outfit for the banner seeing as it’s December and all.  Wow- only seems like 5 minutes since last Christmas (cue Wham!) This time last year I’d heard of SL but didn’t have a PC powerful enough to run it..look how far I’ve come now. Not only do I have a banging desktop but also an exceptionally lovely laptop as well, and SL runs like a dream on both.  I love my time in the metaverse and there’s so much I don’t understand.  I struggle really badly with building and scripting, but I intend to persevere. (I don’t struggle at all with shopping though, as you have probably guessed by now!) I do hope you’ll stick with me over the forthcoming months- who knows where we’ll be this time next year eh?
