A total wipeout….

A total wipeout….

..but in a GOOD way. You may be wondering why I haven’t covered Hair Fair as I promised, well there’s a reason for that which is probably going to make me very unpopular, but here goes…I don’t think it was as good as last year. Now, don’t get me wrong- I appreciate all the effort that went into producing it; for starters I loved the sim styling and all that walking around surrounded by candy sure made me hungry for hair, but alas I didn’t find anything that made me squeal with delight like last year. I felt there was a lot of similarity in the styles on show, and some were just plain awful. Last year I spent a small fortune- this year I was cautious and apprehensive when I approached the sim as I knew I was going to have to watch my pennies and to be honest that wasn’t a challenge that I relished at all…but I bought one style. ONE. Perhaps it’s me..my tastes although not set in stone do tend toward shorter to mid-length styles, sometimes curly, and often based on a bob-shape, but I just felt that Hair Fair 09 wasn’t as challenging, as exciting and as innovative as 08. But this IS a post about hair. A notecard popped in from Vanity Hair to advertise their new style and I immediately fell in love with it – wanna know why? Well, who does it remind you of? It’s practically the bastard love-child of A Flock of Seagulls and La Roux isn’t it? It’s so not my thing at all, but with the current zeitgeist for all things 80’s in full swing I knew I had to try it and I think it looks excellent. The texture and colour are lovely, and the style features choppiness and irregularity in all the right places. This is a great style for photography work, although if I’m honest it looks a lot better in profile than it does full on..which means you’ll have to keep striking lots of poses while you wear it. (It kinda reminds me of a combover when viewed from the front!) Other than that it’s a great, fun, funky style which is really on trend and I’m sure we’ll be seeing lots of fashionistas styling this one across the grid. It looks great with killer shades by the way….

I love it. If I’d seen styles with the same zest at HF09 I’d have salivated like Pavlov’s dogs and dropped coinage on the spot..but I just didn’t get that vibe this year.
Anyway, Vanity Hair are selling this Wipeout! number at L$250 for a pack of three colours, so if you fancy looking all kinds of mad and funky visit the store and get your own by clicking HERE. It’s a corker if you ask me!

I’m running a tad behind…

..apologies, have been to LONDON again! WOOT! Went to see the Pet Shop Boys at the 02, AND also saw the  ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ stageshow so I’ve had an absolutely *fabulous* weekend!  I’m back now though to catch up on a number of things..first of all the blogger challenge ( oops, very behind on that!) and of course, it’s HAIR FAIR!! Yayayayay! Of course, I’ve just attempted to log in and can I heck as like …<sigh>  That said, I’ve been a good lil’ Kitty and have reduced my ARC to 90,which is nigh on unheard of but I’m prepared to make the sacrifice,  BUT having just read this rather faboosh article by Gwyneth I’m wondering if I should have bothered?

Anyhow, lots to do so will see you very soon and start my postings from Hair Fair!

..free to use for one year.  However, there are 3 rules. It cannot be residential, it cannot be commercial, and it has to be open to the public. What do you do with it?

Now this is a bit tricky….ok, I’d split it so that there would be a stunning beach area,  a forest festooned with wildlife and a beautifully designed club/hang out area.

It would also feature a HUGE stone circle, with a space for ritual and campfires and all kinds of Witchery.  It would be used on all the sabbats and esbats and would enable Pagans from all across the grid to congregate and share their knowlege..and afterwards have a bloomin’ good party, cos Pagans sure know how to boogie! There would also be space for solitary escapes..a path meandering into the forest passing various clearings that could be used for private thoughts and reflections..oooh, it sounds lovely doesn’t it?
