I was sooo hoping to do this in one batch, but in RL I’m battling a particularly harsh chest infection that has left me feeling like death warmed up..(Quote Jez, “You look like shit-don’t come near me!”)So what I have decided to do is to announce two winners per day (10 categories so that will take us up to the weekend) and over the weekend I’ll announce the “Uber Kitty” award winner:) Exciting isn’t it?!
Cough, splutter, wheeze…. Ready? Here goes!

Contenders? Ready! ‘The Kittywitchin Awards’ Nominees 2008
So, here’s my list of ‘Kittywitchin Awards’ contenders. The winner of each category will recieve a ‘Kittie’, that is a plaque telling them that they’re rather special winner-types:)
My aim was to be able to present the winners with a little gold Kitty statuette but I’m *useless* at building so that will just have to wait until next year:) ( I’m planning ahead, see?) ‘The Kitties’ are going to be awarded to each winner for the impact that they or their product(s) have had on me personally as a consumer and SL citizen. I’ve blogged about the majority of these labels before which is why I’ve selected them, because I’m familiar with their accomplishments and the work concerned. I’ll also be taking into account each nominee’s wider influence across the metaverse. Of course this is entirely subjective and is merely a reflection of my own opinions that I’ve formed during the past year of blogging and reviewing allsorts of nicies; but I hope that you enjoy these awards and see that this is just my way of giving back a little something to those who have given us, as a virtual community, so much.
I can say categorically that each creator deserves to be on this list…in fact, there are many more who should also appear, but I’ve given this a LOT of serious thought (I know! Can you believe it?!)and it’s actually been hard work! Each of the nominees express quality and professionalism in their given areas; whether it be Peter Stindberg and his glorious Berlin Sofas,Saffia Widdershins and her amazing ‘Prim Perfect’ publication or Canimal Zephyr and her trend-setting fashions, I genuinely rate all of these content creators, designers, writers and establishments and admire the individuals concerned (No, I don’t know all of them personally! Some I’ve never even met!) Each and every one of them is deserving of your patronage, which is why you can visit each nominee via the SLURL’s I’ve included for each. Over the weekend I’ll be finalising my list of winners which I’ll publish next week on the blog. Like I previously indicated there isn’t going to be an awards ceremony BUT I’d love to be able to take a photograph with as many of the winners as possible for publication here, so winners, please bear that in mind and see if you can squeeze me in to your hectic schedules!

Announcing ‘The Kitties’
It’s a hard life making things for the metaverse. You’re expected to dole out freebies to all and sundry, contribute to hunts, stuff lucky chairs full of nicies for little or no thanks, where’s the reward?
Think about it, being a content creator ain’t exactly the hotness that it’s cracked up to be really is it?
So with that in mind, I’ve decided to say ‘Thanks’, by awarding certificates to the very best fashion, skin and hair designers, content creators and concept architects from Second Life that I’ve featured upon these pages during the last twelve months.
I’ll be dishing out various certificates to all and sundry during the next couple of days…exciting huh? Of course I’d love to be able to hold an uber posh and swanky awards ceremony to accompany the certificates, as well as presenting cash prizes and statuettes..but alas I can’t..So you’ll have to make do with piss poor certificates that basically state the obvious; that you’re wonderful, that your contribution to Second Life has indeed made a difference, and should you need any encouragement to continue your hard work, well I hope that these wee certificates will perhaps show you that your effort and endeavours are indeed appreciated by this particular blogger, as well as a multitude of fellow avatars..
No drama, no fuss, just a sincere token of thanks from an avatar who is having the best adventure she could have ever imagined in this mad, crazy virtual world that she calls home:)
So, the categories are:
- Best Hair
- Best Skin
- Best Location
- Best Fashion
- Best Genre-related Fashion
- Best Interiors
- Best Dwelling
- Best Second Life Blog
- Best Newcomer
- Best Shopping Location
…and last but not least, the extra special award that is the ‘Uber Kitty Award’- the best of the best 2008!
Readers-I hope you’re as excited about this as I am! Stay tuned for the contenders and the results which are going to be announced over the next couple of days….woottt!!
Happy New Year!
It’s my opinion that Christmas parties are all about casual elegance, whilst New Years Eve affairs should be a tad more posh. I don’t know why, but NYE just feels better if you’re tarted up to the nines to see the New Near in, don’t you think? With that in mind I’ve been looking for a stunning outfit to share with you for the festivities, and I concluded that you can’t go wrong with classical elegance, as epitomised by the screen goddess that is Audrey Hepburn. This is of course a look straight out of ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ but I’ve given it a twist by wearing Calla ‘Sunflower’ hair in Metallic Pink. This is my favourite updo style of all time;it’s just absolutely *perfect* for any special occasion and the pink tips bring the look bang up to date. The outfit is called, funnily enough, ‘Audrey’ and is from a designer called ‘Anna H’, who has some really nice outfits in her store, as well as some super poses. I’d never visited before but I was a lucky girl and got a store card from my secret Santa which I had spent within about 5 seconds of walking in the shop..yes, it’s good! Anyways, the outfit includes this stunning LONG black frock and gloves and is just perfect isn’t it? I’ve teamed it with pearls and there you go..Audreylicious! All you need is a long black cigarette holder, a glass of Champagne, a cat and the dreamy George Peppard and you’re sorted!
So dear reader if you’re looking for something a bit spesh for NYE do yourself a favour and pay ‘Anna H’ a visit. (I’m also wearing another Anna H dress in teal in my photos…it’s a beautiful silky number. The texture choices are excellent from this designer)
Whatever you’re doing for NYE have a good one, and I look forward to seeing you in 2009!
