Kitty has…THE FLU

Kitty has…THE FLU

This is EXACTLY how I’m feeling in RL at the moment (Probably because I’m wearing a top with holes in it-new release from League that Amanda told me all about, so I blame her!)

Joking aside, if you’re suffering from the winter bugs and nasties that are going around you have my total sympathy..and if you’re managing to get in-world at any point ( I’m trying but my visits are brief, I ache sitting at the keyboard) then why not share the joy of Flu with all your chums with this amazing set for only L$50 from XstreetSL? Best part is it’s wearable, ALL of it, so you can share your doom and gloom wherever you are in world as it’s totally transferable! Utter genius:)

ACHOO!  Here..have some mucus!

Canimal wins a Kittie!

Canimal wins a Kittie!

Ok- this was ALWAYS going to be a tough one to call and I could have had about fifty nominees in this category, but I wittled it down to the stores that I have frequented most this year and have left a real impact on me. Each of the designers behind these labels are veritable artists in their particular fields; Baiastice and Nicky Ree produce some of the most sumptuous couture that you can find on the grid. Nicky uses a palette of devastating colours and textures that just dazzle with their sheer grandiosity, whereas Sissy Pessoa (Baiastice) uses her passion for Italian fashion to produce pieces that aren’t just clothing but artwork in their own right. Truth and Canimal on the other hand are very different designers aiming towards different markets, but are no less awe-inspiring in their approach to fashionable design. Truth produces stunning separates, but I’m totally in love with the awesome coats and jackets that she produces-fit for any virtual occasion with their excellent tailoring and colouration. Canimal on the other hand is legendary for the dazzling array of dresses, skirts, hoodies and a myriad of individual pieces that can be dressed up to great effect, or grunged down.

Canimal is a cult, nay, a lifestyle choice even – make no mistake about that, and it’s for that reason that I’m awarding her the Kittywitchin Fashion Award 2008.

Every single designer I’ve mentioned here are masters of their craft, all equally deserving of praise and recognition, but I feel that 2008 was Canimal’s year..and I can’t wait to see what 2009 has in store for us!

…apologies for the delay on the awards, but I’m laid up in bed ill with a chest infection, so I’ll post them as and when I can..tense huh? I’m really fed up to be perfectly honest-please send noms and hugs.  Jez won’t even come near me in case he gets it!However, I’m pleased to announce another winner before I retire back to the confines of the duvet, armed with Lemsip and lozenges…..

And the winner of the ‘Best Hair Award’ is..

And the winner of the ‘Best Hair Award’ is..

Changing your hair is one of the easiest ways to change your look in world. I LOVE hair and hair shopping, although I always tend towards wearing styles that share a common theme; bob-shapes and variations upon them. Kinda odd really, seeing as I have long flowing locks in real life and argue what constitues half an inch each each time I have my hair trimmed..much to my hairdresser’s chagrin! ( “That’s not an inch! It’s a foot!!”) The very first bob I ever purchased was ‘Patricia’ by ETD, and that has been my gold standard ever since..but you’d be amazed at how many variations on a theme there are:) It’s a wonderland of colours and styles and flexi-elements out there peeps! I discovered some absolute wonders at Hair Fair, and fell head over heels in love with creations by Magika and Truth ( In fact, ‘Nancy’ by Truth is probably my second fave bob of all time) Calla, the range created by the wonderful Tigerlily Koi, also implemented great changes during 2008 involving new hair textures and styles. Incidentally, on the odd occasion I want to wear my hair long I wear Calla, simple as..the textures and movement are beyond compare.

It’s been a tough one to call but I’ve decided to award this years Kittywitchin Hair Award to Elika Tiramasu, because ETD doesn’t disappoint with often classic and frequently quirky styling teamed with an innovative approach which always leaves me coming back for more…Congratulations Elika!
