Happy RL Birthday Jezmond!!
So, my second life and real life beloved turns thirty-something today and seeing as I produce this blog I thought I’d give him a shout out. As regular readers will know, Jez very rarely bothers with SL. He’s a WoW fiend, and spends his time in dungeons twatting goblins and other assorted creatures. It’s been suggested that Jez is actually my alt, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. When I first started out in SL, Jez and I lived over a hundred miles apart and had been conducting a long-distance relationship for a few years, and each weekend one of us would make the long journey across the M62 to visit the other. When I joined SL I encouraged (nagged) him to join so we could spend time in world together instead of just nattering on the phone. His move into SL was purely for our mutual amusement and when he moved into my home in RL a few months ago his involvement pretty much ceased. I don’t mind that really…he LOVES WoW and he’s an earnest gamer. I often sit on my laptop in SL with Jez sat on the opposite side of the table raiding dungeons galore. He doesn’t really ‘get’ SL if I’m perfectly honest, nor does he see the fun in ambling around SL like I do. I feel the same about WoW…why on earth would I want to run around casting spells, healing people and getting into all sorts of scrapes when I could be in Tesla nomming shoes, or dancing around like a loon at ‘Parkade’ or ‘The Crown and Pearl’?
However, he DID promise me last week that he would come to the Pet Shop Boys night at Parkade on Thursday ( as featured previously on this blog) so if you still question Jez’s very existence pop along and see him in all his glory! (Yes, by writing this here he has NO get out clause for not appearing, boy I’m a devious little minx sometimes!)
So a very Happy Birthday indeed my beloved. I adore you and thanks for making the last 6 years the best of my life, and if you’re a good boy I’ll make sure you get a happy finish later xxxxxx
Monday Must-Have-Gadget Day!
Make no bones about it, to look your best in SL you HAVE to use a facelight. A facelight is the virtual equivalent of those fancy schmancy foundations that illuminate your skin and give you a flawless look,and just like in RL you can get cheap ‘n’ cheerful, or you can pay through the nose for an all singing all dancing number. Normally I’d tell you to opt for the latter. Seriously, a good face-light is an absolute must if you are in any way serious about your avatar’s appearance, and vain old cow that I am it’s an essential component of my wardrobe. I don’t leave the house without my face (light) on in the morning! It’s the essential avatar cosmetic…and you can get a GLORIOUS one for free right now from…Tesla. Yes, the Goddess of all that is shoeworthy herself has blessed us all with a freebie face light that’s perfectly optimised for our wondrous windlight world. Plus, because it’s a Tesla product you can be assured that she’s made a cracking job of it. You can get free face lights at various places across the grid, but some of them can be a tad garish and in darker settings make your face look like Times Square on New Years Eve. Tesla’s is just subtle enough to deal with unwanted shading, yet still make you look utterly radiant and defo worth one. Two if you’re lucky. I have no idea how long they will be available so my advice is go and get one NOW.
Oh, and have a look at the shoes while you’re there..just try not to cover them in drool. It really buggers up the virtual leather!
Tuli + LaLa Moon = Pretty Kitty!
Just got back from a weekend away at the in-laws (Was fabbo! Unlike most people I adore my in-laws:) Alas, it went too quickly. Anyways, back to my SL reality now, and I just eeeped all over my inventory when I saw what goodies were waiting for me. First up is this lovely outfit from Tuli, ‘Ana’, in Blue. Gorgeous jacket, scarf, belt and pants outfit. A tad french chic, non? Incidentally, it comes with a hat replete with special hat-hair but I’ll be honest, hats are a chuffing mare to fiddle with and when I put them on they are usually too big for my bean sized-bonce. So that means I spend aeons stretching the bleeders and they still don’t look right, so I have a tantrum and give up. (Not like I don’t have anything else to wear, right?) SO, no hat in this picture, but you will see me wearing an utterly happylicious style by LaLa Moon called ‘Rondo Belle’. It’s very nice Prim hair that comes in packs of colours and sizes retailing at L$350- you get 3 colours per pack in 2 sizes, for large heads and wee heads:) I finished the look off with necklace, earrings and bangles from ‘Eartstones’. It’s a smashing ensemble I think. I must draw your attention though to the actual outfit, zoom in and LOOK closely..it’s texturelicious! It even has cute wee buttons on the rolled up sleeves..I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again..it’s all in the details!
