RL Funny I just had to share..
Apologies, I don’t usually include RL stuff but for what it’s worth I know for a FACT that Kitty would have died laughing. On the spot. As you all know, one of the best things about SL is the array of styles and clothes and every look that you have ever yearned can be created in the blink of an eye…I can’t say I ever do ‘REAL’ punk, as to me that involves spitting, cheap beer, pogo-ing, tartan and spots..as well as Sex Pistols, X-Ray Spex, Alien Sex Fiend..( Yes, we’re talking proper punk here) Punk was a movement that inspired generations, and I know that the US has had it’s own Punk agenda in recent years..but that’s more of a revival. Punk was Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious..Punk was Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Mclaren opening a shop called ‘SEX’. Punk was dirt and grime and a restless youth in 70’s Britain.
Punk was anarchy.
It is NOT knitting.
SO..imagine my suprise when I saw the following book on the shop shelves in Waterstones. I was going to take a snapshot and post it on here but to be honest I refuse…I almost coughed up my spleen laughing in the shop. This is just absurd. I don’t care how popular Knitting is ( Julia Roberts fave hobby apparently) you do NOT desecrate a moment in history in this way…..http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/202-8795984-1560658?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=punk+knits
If you listen carefully you can almost hear Sid and Nancy turning in their graves…
Pumpkins, bats and things that go WOOOO!!!
So, Halloween is on the horizon and I know lots of you have been busily searching for the perfect outfit for the parties that will be taking place over the weekend. If you take a peek at my Flickr you’ll see some photos that I took last night, basically I was asked to take some pictures for use in ‘The Avastar’ and being really picky I ended up taking 104 pictures! It took me all night, but I’ve picked some of th ebest to share with you via Flickr. There’s a couple of outfits I used for the shots-the first black and pink number is from Tart and comes in lots of different colours. I picked orange as I like the Pumpkin look. I also used a FREE hat for one of the shots-see the burgundy witch’s hat?- It’s a FREEBIE from Gritty Kitty and I heartily suggest you fly as fast as your broomstick will take you and get yourself one. It comes with a colour change menu as well:) Finally, I’m also wearing Last Calls’ ‘Enchantress’ which is rather expensive, but absolutely stunning. You have a few options with the sleeves and skirts, as well as horns, red eyes and uber-cute spider shoes. Oh, and AMAZING wings. I’ve never really been a fan of wings in SL and these have actually changed my mind. The whole look when put together is extremely effective..BUT there’s a problem. So many people shop at Last Call that I expect to see rather a few ‘Enchantresses’ around halloween…still the options enable you to create a look that’s a tad more unique. Oh, and the hair….Once again ETD are offering a fantastic freebie hair that comes in loads of colour combinations. It’s called ‘Phoebe’ and is fabulous, and you really must get it. The whole range of colours is included, and I’ve been experimenting all week with blondes and greens etc..something that I don’t normally do. The fact that ETD offer us such cracking styles as freebies says a lot for the store, and I buy a lot from there, becuase I know that I will get quality. I never usually have any issues with the fit either, which is one less hassle! Anyway, enjoy Halloween-or Samhain, if you’re of a Pagan persuasion like myself;)
Hubble Bubble…
