Morning!  It’s a lovely, sunny, COLD day here in the UK.  (And my cat has just come in with a slug stuck to her bottom, which was nice) BUT FEAR NOT DEAR READERS!  For I have just the thing to put a smile on your face if you can’t get tickets to see the latest ‘Harry Potter’ because of all the screaming brats who got there first:)

Last night I launched my Kittywitchin’ group with a promise of a perk for my members, and I’m happy to sat that ‘the perk’ is all up and ready to go! It’s a platform in the sky with a nice comfy sofa and 4, yes 4!! photo studios for you to play with:)  I’m not going to tell you what they are actually, because that’ll spoil all the fun, but I hope you’ll like using them.

You’ll probably see me up there actually taking pictures myself ( Where else will I be able to do it? LOL) 

I’ll add more stuff to it as I go along, posing stands etc..but I was eager to share!!  Now then, be warned…I know I’m NOT a newbie but I do struggle sometimes with permissions etc, so- if there are any issues please IM me and I’ll fix them asap…

( Oh and a final note…yes, there is a tip jar.  No I’m not scrounging or being completely mercenary, but I am skint-so any donations are truly appreciated.  And all the dosh gets recycled in-game anyway:)

Second day on the trot I’m mentioning LAST CALL, but this time it’s to say how excited I am that they have a HUGE sale on, and I can’t wait to go on a spending spree! I must admit am a tad worried that I may have the majority of items in the sale already, but it’s defo worth checking out for accessories etc I think my recommendations to newbies who want quality items is to always check out Frangipani and Last Call first of all…they are my uber fave stores. Then again, I’m finding new places all the time so who knows how long they will remain at the top of the list before they are usurped?( And of course there is the issue of seeing the outfit that you’re wearing on countless other avis in the same sim..even ones of the opposite sex!)

You may not be aware of this but I actually have a Kittywitchin’ group and I’d very much like to invite you to join it, not least because I will be treating members to tokens of my esteem, but also because I’m going to be making my photo studio available for all members to use, free of charge. ( Although tips are always appreciated, natch!) There’ll be a number of photo studios to choose from, including a photosphere with many nice backgrounds and the Picture Perfect modelling studio. If you’re thinking of buying a studio, I’d use this perk to your advantage as you can try before you buy.

Oh, and they’re all really easy to use…because if they weren’t, well, I wouldn’t be using them:)

‘Last Call’, that fabulous boutique of SL fashion, has announced a rather great competition! You have to submit photos wearing their clothes ( which is certainly no hardship) and a ‘Celestial’ skin to be eligible for entry, with the winner receiving not only shedloads of publicity but L$20000 into the bargain as well! WOOT!

For a few minutes I was hugely excited by this news. I even started planning my shots and outfit choices in my head…and then I realised, I can’t possibly enter:(

I don’t own a Celestial skin.

Now, before you suggest the obvious, I did consider buying one but thought again, because if I did that, well-it just wouldn’t be ‘me’, Kitty, anymore would it?

Ok, at a base level Kitty is no more than a shape called Joellyn, and a skin called Paris. Add some Lapis Lazuli eyes by Wiccan Soujourner and you have, well, me:)

But there is so much more to her than that. I would go so far as to say like a lot of people in-world I really love my avatar. She/ me is more than just a collection of skin, shape, hair and clothes items. She has her own personality, friends…she’s an extension of myself.

I am so attached to her/my appearance now that If I changed it for a competition I’d almost feel like I was betraying the Kitty I’ve come to love.

And even though I’m sorely tempted to enter the competition ( anything for L$20000) I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

It’s just like Bagpuss…a saggy cloth cat, loose at the seams….but Emily loved him:)

I had a smashing start to my SL weekend on Friday, my letter got picked to appear in ‘The Avastar’, bagging me L$500 into the bargain! As I’m sure you’re already aware, I run the PSB’s fan group in SL, and was truly disappointed by their ‘live’ appearance at Secondfest. I grumbled, groaned and grimaced, put pen to paper and the resulting letter is on page 6. It’s a great feeling being published! The dollars earned helped me purchase a ‘photosphere’, which I am using to increase my collection of snapshots. It’s very good actually. I already have the N30 studio but find it a tad fiddly sometimes, so I like to have alternatives. I’m also really pleased with the selection of poses that I’ve accrued, so it’s all systems go posing wise!

The other fun event of the weekend was my buddy Whoosh’s Roller Disco party. It was superb fun. Whoosh had built an amazing roller-rink with a central disco area and DJ booth. This was surrounded by an intergalactic backdrop and finished off with groovy lighting. Of course, being a disco party there were some seriously dodgy outfits on display. Whoosh’s outfit reminded me of a pair of curtains that my mum had in the 1970’s for a start, Jez’s ‘Lennonz’ glasses were uber groovy and Starfire made a rather fetching cheerleader.
