Wearing a face light in Second Life should be second nature to your avatar, just as applying moisturiser with sunscreen should be in real life. Put simply, you really aren’t dressed without it, and yes they make all the difference, as I’ve blogged before. Kitty just wouldn’t be seen dead without her face light. They iron out all the blemishes and make you look simply radiant, dahling! Alas, some can make you look a tad *too* radiant (There’s nothing worse than realising your face in a nightclub is brighter than the glowsticks on the dancefloor!) Muism are hoping that their latest release will redress the balance. They’ve welcomed a new team member, Asuka Maximus, and he is already busily creating ‘wonderful things’ for the brand, and and their new facelight is no exception. It’s called ‘Nature Shine Face’ (Kittynote:If I was making stuff like this I’d probably call it ‘Shiny Goblight’) and according to the blurb on Muisms’s blog : ” ..This natural facelight is a technology that achieves the best effect in brightness based on calculation from the height of the sun and direction of the avatar..” It’s also optimised for windlight and the light source is based on 4 different skin tones, so in theory it should suit most wearers perfectly. BUT in a market where you can actually pick up some nice, practical face lights for absolutely nothing, is it worth shelling out for one? Well I’ve tested this one and found it to be very good, BUT I do have quibbles, albeit minor ones. It’s scripted so you have to input commands to alter your appearance, which isn’t a major issue I know but I’d prefer it in a menu or small HUD format. I like the fact that it’s been designed to be responsive, but I just find inputting commands to be a hassle purely because I have a memory like a sieve and forget the commands to use. A menu replete with options makes it easier for dimwits like me! If you currently use a freebie face-light and would like to try a slightly more expensive one with more options then I do suggest giving this a spin, but remember to keep the commands notecard handy! On to other Muism musings, and I’ve just checked out some of the latest bags in their collection, and the ‘Bottle Clear’ bag blew me away! It is clearly ahead of the rest (Oh that was a lame joke Kitster!)being a beautifully structured see through bag with great detailing on the edge and on the strap (seriously, when you zoom in you can see all the ickle details that make it so spesh!) There’s a water bottle and a magazine in the bag, and these are both perfect. In fact, what makes this so UBER brilliant is you can wear the water bottle, and a fab little animation kicks it so that you take a glug from the bottle and fold your arms and ..oh go into the store and try on the demo and see for yourself! Put it this way, you KNOW quality when you see thow much care has gone into creating the bottle. There are two purchase options for the bag, either handheld or on your shoulder, or a pack of featuring both options. My only quibble is individually each bag is L$300, which is a tad pricey. ( The pack featuring both styles is L$550) The demos are free, and you can really have fun with them in store. While you’re there, hop on this Handbag AO and have a play with that too-it’s excellent! Daddy’s girl..
..so here’s a pic of me and pop. I saw from the previous comments that Harper wanted to know what I’d dressed him in, well, I wouldn’t let him be a slob, he’s pretty accomplished at that in RL…so he’s wearing a Muism leather jacket and Japanese design t-shirt, with Hoorenbeck spectacles and hair from Tami Mcoy. The skin is by Fleur. I think he looks *great*, but then again I am a tad biased. Incidentally, The reason I am glowing is not with embarrassment, it’s a smidgen of pride mixed in with a darn good face light:) Oh, and I’m wearing Sn@tch, Abyss hair and Lookr glasses. I would’ve stayed online with him for much longer tonight but SL is running on empty so it seems, very laggy and unhappy. Shame really, as I was showing my dad around the wonderful SS Galaxy earlier when it threw me out…
