Yeah yeah, the site is called ‘Kittywitchin’ but I don’t seem to do that much chuffing Witchin’ do I? Just bleating and blathering on about new outfits and generally being annoying. Well, guess what? Here’s a bit of Witchiness-Beltane Blessings to every single one of my readers! 

Beltane, or Beltain, is one of the most important festivals on the wheel of the year.  Beltane is a fire festival, it celebrates the return of the light after the darkness of Winter, and is all about fertility and lovely ripeness:)(Ooohhhh! It’s a dirty one then! LOL) Maypoles and leaping over bonfires (both featured in ‘The Wicker Man’ funnily enough..I wonder why that could be? smirk) are traditional Beltane celebrations. If we’re being really honest it’s probably the most overtly sexual festival of the year.  In times past couples would have been retreating to the haystacks and the fields and a bit of fervent copulation would be going on.  They’d also probably have made love in corn fields to bless the crops..which I think is an excellent idea except 1) It’s ruddy cold at the moment and 2) Corn stalks really hurt your arse when they get stuck in your rear! Anyways, pagans across the grid will be celebrating, and probably Beltane Bonking in a highly virtual manner. 

Not that anyone in SL needs an excuse for a virtual nookie-fest, but if you ever wanted an excuse this is a fine one to use to your advantage! Also can I be so bold to suggest that you leave your virtual life behind, just for a walk perhaps, and enjoy the night now that it’s a bit lighter and longer? I hate to be a portent of doom but NEXT MONTH it will all be changing again, with June 21st being the pinnacle of the year the nights will start drawing in again, did you realise that? There’s plenty of time to be chained to your keyboard!
