Kitty the sell-out?

Kitty the sell-out?

OK readers, I need your feedback/opinions on something. Advertising. It can be annoying, but it is without a doubt a very useful source of income. I’ve dipped my toes into the waters with the fixed logo for ‘Claim Squad’ a bit further down, but so far have earned a big fat zilch from it. Ho Hum- I’m not bitter, but as my blog approaches the 20000 hits mark (Woottt!) I’m starting to consider that it may be the way to go. Simply put- I need Lindens to be able to buy nice things to review. As I’ve said before I don’t expect freebies, but also I’m conscious that designers work hard for their buck and bearing that in mind they deserve to be paid for what they create. Obviously my time at ‘The Avastar’ enabled me to earn a few Lindens, but it was very dependent on how much of my copy was published. If you didn’t get assignments, you didn’t get paid- fair enough if you ask me. My adventures are entirely self-funded and that’s fine, it’s my choice to write the blog after all and I get a lot of pleasure from it ( and I hope you do too) but I do need to increase my Linden earnings. Therefore, I’m seriously considering an advertising program for the site. I like the way that Linden Lifestyles deployed advertising on their site, it looked neat, was reasonably priced and drove traffic. I realise that ‘Kittywitchin’ has a helluva long way to go before I even approach the legendary status that Salome and Sabrina achieved for their blog, but I don’t especially want to implement Google Adsense on this page ( because more often than not the ads featured make very little sense) Any initial revenue would actually be channelled into advertising this site more, to get the ball rolling. For example, I’ve paid Linden Labs L$250 this morning to submit my website for inclusion on a showcase listing-but that’s not even guaranteed to get me featured! So what do you think- do you think ads are the way to go?

  1. I think theres no harm in advertising on your blog, you could even ask your favourite inworld fashionistas if they’d consider paying for advertising space on your blog… I know you promote their stuff, but advertisements always look good too…

Anyway, enough of my whitterings, I am in favour of you advertising if it means you can do what you do… Theres no harm in it and lets face it, if it’s good enough for ITV etc. then it’s good enough for you x

  2. Well thanks for the interest ladies- that’s very flattering:) I’m investigating the possibilities and as soon as I’ve reached a decision I’ll let you know. It certainly won’t be expensive Echo..I’m not that greedy. Unless it’s pizza.
