Alas I was too quick to announce my recovery, and I’ve been looking like an extra off ‘Dead Set’ all week. I’m basically going to work, coming home and going to bed..I’ve barely spoken to Jez all week, merely coughed, spluttered and grunted in his direction as I’ve ascended the stairs towards my bed, I just cannot shake this bug and my cough sounds like a bag of rusty spanners. I’ll be honest, logging in-world and looking at lovely things has just not even been an option feeling like this, so as you can see…I’m not at all well:)
Anyway, It’s nice to see I’ve been missed…..( ahem!)
Anyway, let’s resume ‘The Kitties’ shall we? The next category to be decided is Best Interiors, a *HUGE* challenge for me personally as I have such wide-ranging tastes determined by my mood. I love the clean lines and cutting edge designs favoured by the modern designers, but at the same time I’m in love with classical styling and more traditional furnishings. I feature both in my home, and the juxtaposition works really well. Third Life Interiors produced some gorgeous furniture in 2008, featuring fabulous textures and chunky, solid framed furbniture with a Victorian twist. I was immensely impressed and instantly became a fan. In contrast Greene Concept concentrated on modern classics, producing striking sofa and chair designs with embedded bespoke poses, their ‘Berlin’ sofa is an essential piece for any home. but the winner basically re-invented bedroom furniture in world. Not only set pieces such as wardrobes and dressers, but amazing beds with a vast array of poses and sculpty features such as untidy bedding (but when you see some of the incorporated poses and anims you fully understand why the sheets are a mess!) It’s no surprise that Cornelius Sloat, the grand designer behind ‘Corn’, is also the brains behind ‘Instinct’, but he has managed to up the ante in world and make ‘Instinct’ the distinguished choice for bedrooms (and bathrooms) in world. Who knows what 2009 will bring? Especially with up and coming brands like ‘The Loft’ already making an impact, and the rumoured return of ‘Amodica’ I feel we’re going to see some serious design competition resulting in some wonderful goodies for us all to enjoy….
but for now you just cannot touch Instinct, so here’s to you Cornelius, and thanks for your awesome work during 2008, it’s brought a smile ( and a blush!) to many a satisfied avatar’s chops! Congratulations!
I caught your bloody cold… π
Instinct, good choice π
