Don’t fret Kittyreaders! I’m tidying up and changing the theme on the blog, which means it will look a shambles for a few days until all my previous settings are restored in a fit of pique…

I’ve already lost all my widgets. *Grumble*

If you insist on getting your Kitty-fix, why not ‘Like’ my new Facebook page? It’s intended to run as a sister site to this blog, and if you’re on Facebook I would love it if you paid me a visit. friended me and anything else that you can think of beginning with ‘F’.  Well, not that obviously….ahem!

Harlow Heslop’s ‘Blogger Challenge’

There’s a blogger challenge underway that you may have heard of called the ‘Inspire Challenge’.
It’s been created by the always-awesome Harlow Heslop, and asks that we pick a fellow blogger that inspires us and write a little about them, as well as take a snap of them and feature it on our blogs.

Well, to be honest I would never ask my pick, Strawberry Singh, to pose for a picture because A) I’m sure she’s too darn busy being photographed by all the other bloggers who have cited her as inspiration and B) I’m too scared to ask, LOL!

There are LOTS of blogs that I visit, but the one that I return to again and again is Strawberry’s. The reason? Well,there are many, but above all else I just adore her website.  It’s easy to navigate and is always choc-full of useful features; whether about fashion or about other topics pertaining to the virtual universe.

But what makes Berry’s blog stand out from the rest has to be the astonishing photography AND the tutorials that she painstakingly creates and that I constantly refer to.
I’ve come to realise that many questions about my Second Life set-up can be answered by a quick scour of Berry’s blog…it’s simply an astonishing resource.

I admit I’m in complete awe of her, and I’m totally envious of Berry’s work and don’t mind saying it! Hers is the kind of blog that I can only dream to replicate. Sadly I just don’t have the time or energy in real-life to devote so much of myself to such an enterprise. In fact, there’s no doubt in my mind that Strawberry must think, eat, sleep and breathe Second Life 24/7.  She has to, or else she wouldn’t create a blog of such magnitude.

It must be a real labour of love for her to create such an inspirational resource, but she does it so beautifully,  and the day that Berry stops blogging will be the day I hang up my virtual hat for good.

The times that I have lost my Second Life mojo and have been pulled back in by Berry are countless, let me tell you..!

I should also do a few honourable mentions: Felicity Blumenthal, Ana Lutetia, Celebrity Trollop and Sydd Sinister are just some of the other bloggers that I love to read and admire for their brilliant writing, stunning visuals and awesome achievements at promoting this amazing virtual world that we all call home.

Seriously, Linden Labs should give you all medals!

Please, never stop doing what you do.  It adds another dimension to our metaverse, and it would be such a drab place if it weren’t for bloggers like you, whipping up virtual frenzies galore.  Thank you all.

I very rarely wear skirts in real life, but I do in Second Life. My favourite styles being the sleek and straight numbers that emphasise the curves, but which leave very little room for innovative design,
But if you’re Sienia Trevellion; a design ingenue if ever there was one, you can take a really simple skirt and make it extra special with the simplest additions; zips and denim!

Sienia has just released these amazing, slinky skirts called ‘Above It’, which have a fabulous contrast waistband that really enhances the cinched-in look. They’re very versatile and eminently wearable; coming in a smashing variety of muted and vibrant tones. I’d go so far as to say that these are probably essential summer purchases, especially when I tell you that they cost FIFTY Lindens each. I KNOW! Totally style-o-rific, you can have tons of fun dressing these skirts down with gaudy 80’s inspired tees, beads, stripey tights and neon pumps or even dressing up with blouse, blazer and beret. I know they’re denim but it can be done!
I chose to wear mine with this rather smashing ‘Lace-top Lifted’ jumper, a corking find from (RED) Mint. The jumpers are proper Second Life fashion, showing acres of boobage but no nips, and they can be worn in two ways; with either a covered chest or as I’m wearing in these snaps a more open style (I’ll save the rolled collars for when it gets colder!) They’re really well crafted with scripted prim attachments to allow for a perfect fit, and I think they work beautifully with the skirts.

I’ve not blogged about Clutter for a while, Kat Alderson’s emporium of fabulous furnishings and knick knacks based at Wind River Territory, but I had to this week. She’s released an awesome, and astonishingly cheap, range of African inspired furnishings for your home and you simply MUST check them out.

The Hemingway Collection (Trust Kat to come up with a literary inspired name!) is just what you need if you want to add a touch of African spice to your abode. There’s a multitude of pieces available, from these glorious wing back chairs to stools based on Djembe drums, vases, wall art and a lovely screen. There’s also a fantastic pavillion which I seriously recommend if you’re intending on some outdoor dining with your Second Life chums.

I love Kats bits and bobs, I really do. I also love her approach to retail, these pieces are priced so even those on a seriously tight Linden budget don’t need to miss out, and above all else the textures that she applies are just perfect. The great thing about this collection is that it’s texture change; there are a number of animal prints available to select from. I particularly like the Zebra, Giraffe and the Tiger styles!

I’ve used these pieces to decorate my home to great success. This is just fabulous work, great value for money and really looks the part. I’ve known Kat a while now and it is so satisfying to see the creations that she rolls out on a near-weekly basis. She’s come a long way from her Third Life Interior and Alderson & Charron days and I’m really excited to see what else she has in store for us all!

You need to get your skates on if you want to buy these pieces, because The Hemingway Collection is split into various components and is featured in a multitude of different sale events (but fortunately all the pieces are in the same location, phew!)

The Hemingway Collection Part 1 is part of the TOSL (‘Taste Of Second Life’) event and is a pavillion with fire bowl, table, vase and seating and is just fabulous value for money at L$100

The Hemingway Collection Part 2 is part of ‘Sixty Linden Weekends’ event and includes some funky drum stools, a folding screen and vase and costs just L$60 (The screen is to die for, so simple and yet so fine!)

The Hemingway Collection Part 3 includes the wing back chairs, featuring 5 texture change options and 15 sits each come with a chest and plant and is part of the ‘La Venta eventa’ running from June 10-12.  These items cost L$100 (Note: the chair poses are GREAT!)

The Hemingway Collection Part 4 includes the two seater bench, wall art and a torch planter- this is part of the Super Bargain Saturday event and costs a mere L$60.
