The NEW Kittylicious Store!

The NEW Kittylicious Store!

Even though Kittylicious! Shapes has only been in-world since June, I’ve decided to leave my old store and move into bigger premises!

The new store is double the size and will allow me to showcase more shapes for your purchasing pleasure. If you have the old LM and want to visit the store, fear not, because I’ve only moved across the road:) MALT, where I am based is a fantastic little shopping district, featuring stunning fashion and skins, shapes and eclectica. As well as the flagship ‘Malt’ store, you’ll also find the ever-wonderful ‘Agent Orange’ who make those amazing alphabet pillows that remain a firm favourite of mine ( YOU HAVE TO GET SOME!)

In fact, if you’re looking for retail premises may I be so bold as to suggest you choose Malt? You’ll be in good company, and Khea Karas, the proprietor, is wonderfully accommodating and helps with any queries at the drop of a hat. IM Khea Karas for details..it would be lovely to see you!

Anyway, a bit more about my new store. All the familiar poses are available, with many on offer at L$10 and L$50, with the flagship signature range at L$100. You’ll find two freebie shapes, as well as the hugely popular ‘Loved’ dollarbie, and as mentioned in my previous post you can also pick up ‘Cherry Dahling!’ for L$10 this week only, so that you can celebrate being ‘all woman’, and participate in the popular blogger challenge. But, even better than all that….
You can now buy POSES at Kittylicious! I’ve teamed up with the amazing Idoru Cyberstar who is showcasing her amazing poses in my store. These are NOT to be missed, not only are they great value poses but they are extremely good ( I wouldn’t feature them in my store if they weren’t!) I’ll be using them in forthcoming postings so that you can gauge the quality of her work for yourself, but trust me..there’s a reason she goes by the moniker, ‘The Posemaster’.
Last but not least the store also features some really lovely decor including a day-bed where you can chill out if you feel fatigued by all your wonderful shopping..OK, in actual fact the bed is in there for my benefit, as I am extremely lazy in real life and like nothing better than a good snooze. In fact, , I may just go and get some shut eye! Come join me for a snuggle!

Hybrid Ansar’s Blogger challenge…

Hybrid Ansar’s Blogger challenge…

..was one that I was more than happy to accept. She asked that bloggers wear larger shapes than normal, style them and photograph the results. I loved this idea, because as I’ve commented on these pages many times before I cannot bear to see stick thin avatars. Women, even slim ladies, are CURVED..fair enough on slimmer girls the curves will be slight BUT I have yet to see a woman of any size without a curve on her body ( unless the woman is question is suffering from some sort of medical ailment) Anyway- back to the challenge.

It wasn’t hard for me to participate in this because I wear a variety of different shapes in my Second Life now, partly through choice and also because I’m in the shapes business so I like to model my wares:) I’m trying to encourage more people to choose larger shapes, but I think one of the main reasons that people refrain from trying them is not because of the look per se, BUT because there are sometimes clothes fitting issues when you wear plus-sized avatars which is annoying as hell. I think of it as the SL equivalent of my going into a RL store and trying something on in my size that guess what, doesn’t fit..grrr. (Sizing in RL is so bloody ad-hoc these days that there are many stores I won’t even bother with..but that’s a rant for another day)

I styled Kitty in Boho-chic for this shot, because it’s the kind of look that love in real life and I think it looks really lovely on curvy girls ( like me!) You can’t beat a flowing skirt, a camisole, beads, bangles and a shawl for feeling free…the look can go towards the hippyish ( which is no bad thing if you ask me) so if you want to reign it in a little aim for using more structured pieces with a defined ‘edge’. I’m prattling on a tad here so let me tell you about the look. I’ve teamed my ‘Cherry Dahling!’ shape with the ever wonderful ‘Leona’ skin from Redgrave. The shape works especially well with the skin, even if I say so myself..I just love the chubby cheeks and voluptuous pout that this shape gives me:) I’ve been exploring a lot of Japanese sims of late and the outfit was a find on a sim called ‘SWITCH’. Make yourself a cup of tea and have a meander around that one- there were quite a few fellow avatars in the vicinity when I was there, and the area is styled like a downtown Tokyo shopping district. It’s super quirky and a real delight to explore- I LOVE sims like that. Anyway, the dress is from ‘Beetlebones’ ( FABULOUS name for a store) and the necklace is from ‘Monochro Monochro’ ( which, incidentally goes VERY well with the latest earrings release from Fab.Pony, the ‘Oh She’s Good’ earrings, but I couldn’t wear them with this hair ‘cos you wouldn’t be able to see them!) The hair is one of the latest releases from ‘Magika’, and it is called ‘Mika’. I love it, the headband reaches round and ties into a bow at the back which is so very feminine. I dunno what it is with Magika and Truth recently but both stores are launching fabulous styles that are, quite frankly, leaving me skint!

Anyway, that’s my submission towards the blogger challenge..if you want to recreate the look yourself the shape is available at MY NEW STORE ( I’ve moved-more on that later!) In Malt for the princely sum of L$10 for the rest of the week so you can partake of the challenge should you so wish…there are other curvy shapes on offer too.
Finally, big up to Hybrid Ansar for the challenge, and a huge shout out to the beautiful larger ladies on the grid…Big girls, YOU are beautiful!

Here’s a listing of the elements involved in this look:

  • Wearing Kittylicious! ‘Cherry Dahling Shape’, Miriel eyes in ‘Moonbow’,
  • Outfit is by Beetlebones, ‘La Boheme’ in Grey,
  • Skin is by Redgrave, ‘Leona’ in Grey
  • Hair is Magika – ‘Mika’ (Brown E)
  • Necklace by Monochro Monochro-‘Square’
  • Pose by ‘The Posemaster’ , one of the ‘Manga’ series.

I thought I’d share with you..

I thought I’d share with you..

..a sneaky-peek from a new series of promo shots that I’m working on.

This is the promo for my ‘Selina’ shape…a bit special isn’t it? In this shot I am wearing the new hair from Truth, ‘Farah’, in Caramel.  It’s an iconic hairstyle and he’s recreated it beautifully!

I’m also wearing the LAQ Lacie skin, which is quite simply one of the best so far. Very happy Kitty indeed.

All my old promos are currently in store but I’m working on changing them to this new style over the next few days…eeep!

If  you’re interested, the ‘Selina’ shape retails at L$100, and I think it looks fierce with this hair and skin combo..

Jus’ Sayin’!

Kitty LOVES “Beanie Loves Japan”

Kitty LOVES “Beanie Loves Japan”

Because if I didn’t I’d miss out on some seriously wonderful items that a lot of the other fashion blogs don’t care to mention

If you’ve never read it, then go into the kitchen, get a spatula and wallop yourself around the head a few times muttering the mantra, ” I will visit ‘Beanie Loves Japan” until you feel that your brain has fully got the message. (Depending on your skull density it may take a while, I was in there half an hour once until Jez got fed up and yanked the spatuala away because he needed to stir the soup.)Now, put the spatula back, don’t worry about the bruise, and let me tell you why you need to visit this blog as a priority.
Beanie blogs about the Asian themed content that is available on the grid. Not just Japan either, but also China, Korea, Malaysia..you get the drift I’m sure. This means a varied collection of topics are covered upon her pages; from amazing old-man avatars to skins to hair to furniture to that special kind of madness that you can only find in Japan. Readers, *it’s wonderful* – beanie writes with great humour and no flannel and has found some absolutely corking items on her travels. Not everything that Beanie features is free ( although a lot is) BUT rest assured it is all nommy!
For example, this week I’ve got myself some amazing free skins (and I am an utter skin snob so the fact that I plan to wear them on a regular basis should reassure you of their scrumminess)
I also got a cracking Goth table for free (works perfect as an altar:), a myriad of cracking poses and BEST of all in my opinion is this set of ears and tail..which are not only utterly beautiful with their jewellery and rose accents but the tail is *scripted*. Yes, I got these FOR FREE. I didn’t need to sell any body parts; which is good as I’m running out, and I really don’t think anyone will buy what’s left. Ahem.
In case you doubted the quality, here I am wearing an outfit by LAST CALL (pure SL vintage wear and doesn’t it look fabulous?) teamed with the latest skin release from LAQ, along with some new hair from Magika. These wonderful freebies match perfectly, don’t you think? This is why you should NEVER look down your nose at the freebie/cheapie blogs. Plenty of people do, and it’s their loss because you find some absolute treasures upon them. (The key is to mix freebie items with your own quality purchases..but I’ve told you that before..pay attention!)

Anyway, back to Beanie. Add her blog to your faves and visit it on a daily basis for discovering a fashionable side of the grid that you may not be that well acquainted with..I promise you it’s worth it.

Oh, and if you don’t heed this advice then you may as well carry on mashing yourself across the chops with the aforementioned spatuala…

Click here to visit Beanie and open up a whole new world of happy:)
