Chel Norfolk asked me to pose for her…

I’ve been so blessed to be photographed by some of the most talented artists in SL, and I’m so honoured that the amazingly talented Chel asked me to model for her. I think it is STUNNING work and as I write this I am grinning from ear to ear:)Thank you Chel, your work is amazing! ( If you would like to see more of Chel’s wonderful imagery please click here)  Also, as I was out last night watching the ‘Sex and the City’ movie (Loved it!) the site surpassed 13000 hits.

You all know how much that means to me, so thank you!

Got SL’ang Life?

Got SL’ang Life?

At lunchtime I was chuffed to find a ‘discreetly’ packaged booklet upon my doormat, eagerly anticipating my arrival….It’s the kind of package that must drive the Postie mad wondering what depravities are concealed from the naked eye by the thin black-plastic wrap, replete with nondescript address label ..Although I don’t really want to spoil the illusion, it certainly wasn’t my monthly subscription to ‘Busty Brenda’s Bollock Bonanza’. It was the latest copy of SL’ang Life, a Polish-produced glossy 45 page colour magazine, all about Second Life. SL’ang Life’s mission is to provide information about the virtual world we love so much in a non-electronic format, and it certainly looks the part. It’s backed financially by RL advertisers which means that the whole production doesn’t feel cheap, and the latest issue is bursting at the seams with features on the virtual economy, art, science, in-world legal matters, fashion and religion..it’s your virtual world equivalent of a Sunday supplement! It’s not a bad read, and for me it bridges the gap nicely across those moments when I can’t use my laptop but am desperate to read SL related content..so my copies are neatly lined up in my bathroom for me to dip into when I’m laying special brown eggs in my porcelain nest:) However, there are a few issues with it that require addressing. For a start, if you’re going to produce an English language magazine that is translated from another, it’s imperative that you have someone check the copy to make sure that it scans properly. I also think that the production team needs to concentrate on finding their niche market – the copy is so plentiful and diverse that the magazine feels somewhat fragmented, as though a bunch of articles landed on the Editor’s desk and he gathered them all up into a bunch and published them. SL’ang Life seems to want to be the virtual world equivalent of ‘Time’, ‘The Economist’ and ‘Hello’ in one user-friendly package, but I’m afraid that it doesn’t quite pull it off…yet. I’m confident though that once it has found it’s identity amongst all the other metaverse publications it will be able to give them a real run for their money. My favourite articles this month were about Virtual Dublin and a beautifully illustrated article about religious buildings in Second Life. Oh, and the fashion pages weren’t bad either!

Ooh look, it’s Jez!

Ooh look, it’s Jez!

It’s not very often you see ol’Jezmond in-world with me, uber WoW goblin twatter that he is, but I managed to persuade him to join me for some photos last night. I thought I’d publish this picture of us together so you could drool at the new skin (Millage Valenti)and hair I got for him..looks good huh?

At the moment Jez’s loyalties are somewhat divided between ‘World of Warcraft’ and his new MMORPG, ‘The Age of Conan’. If you haven’t seen the latter yet you may well be blown away, because visually it is stunning. It actually reminds me a lot of Second Life, but the detail and animations are on a completely different level. For example, there’s a public house which has a cat wandering around within it, and the animation on the cat has to be seen to be believed, It’s so realistic! Of course with a new MMORPG launch there are always hiccups, and there are tons of patches being released for Conan, as well as lots of griping on various forums about issues with the game. Jez’s verdict? He’s enjoying it, the interface took some getting used to but overall his experience is a relatively positive one. However, he isn’t sure that it will keep him interested beyond the much anticipated release of ‘Lich King’ for WoW…

Swimming with the fishies…

Swimming with the fishies…

Last Monday night I logged in and I was DELIGHTED to see a couple of boxes of lovelies had been dropped upon me. It’s been difficult to find the time to do serious SLing recently, although you wouldn’t think so from reading the blog, so taking time out to have a look at some nice things is excellent therapy for my slightly weary soul, and I thank ye from the bottom of my achy breaky heart for sending them to me, it means a lot.
Especially when those nicies are by TESLA! Ohhhhh Tesla Tesla TESLA!
Tesla Mile’s shoes should have an orgasm warning included with each pair, because they are nigh on guaranteed to make you spurt with joy!
Now, this is coming from a girl who in RL doesn’t own more than a few pairs of shoes-seriously! When reality bites, I trot along behind it in a variety of different Crocs, as I love the practicality of them, plus I have a bit of a bad back and they weigh nowt so don’t exacerbate the problem. Also, as a 5ft 8inch big bird in RL, and being a tad on the large size, I can’t wear stilettoes and look dignified. (But I love the look of them, and for the record, the only time I ever wore a pair it was like an over-large pink blancmange attempting to walk with the grace of a new-born giraffe. Dita Von Teese I am not..) So at least in SL I have the opportunity to lust after my much coveted footwear and wear them with gusto. In fact, you have a hard time wrenching my Tesla ‘Vinyl Vixens’ from my feet owing to their utter perfectness and the fact that they fit in with practically any outfit I wear..or not … But back to the new stuff. Armed with my (virtual) tissues I opened the box and oh boy, oh boy, OH BOY! Sculpted stilleto boots!
Look at them…adore them..breathe in the fragrant leather (Ok, I’m getting a wee bit too excited here, but indulge me-it’s Tuesday) I so needed to share these with you, but was unsure what to team them with….so, in my usual moochy style I wandered around the blogs and arrived at my favourite, Linden Lifestyles, which is always a top click of mine, as regular readers will be aware. One post in particular had me running like the clappers (Note-clappers not slappers!) to ‘Haute Style & Co.’ at Haute Couture. I’l start off by stating that I wasn’t aware of this store until I read the LL post, but believe me, I will be paying close attention to this place from now on! My initial reason for visiting was the Maxie jumpsuit, which id getting a lot of press because it is absolutely gorgeous. Linden Lifestyles have already featured it, and Chel Norfolk photographed one of her friends in the same outfit and it was bloody obvious that it was calling to me (First time’s always a coincidence, second time is always fate in my book) so I had to go and buy it. And then I saw the rest of teh delights in store….I went all chimp-like “Ooh-ooh-ohh!” and started to foam at my virtual mouth, rushing around the place like I was a whirling dervish gone nutty on acid. When I had finished my fit I was the owner of some utterly delicious clobber…and wonderfully made clobber it is too! Just look at the details people..oh my gosh! The texture, the prim work on the collar, the bell bottoms on the trousers and the corsetry detail are just bloody perfect. I talk about clothes a lot, and all of the outfits I choose to feature tend to be more than adequate examples of SL seamstressing..but this my friends is something else entirely. I haven’t been this bowled over since ‘Last Call’ was still with us. I cannot describe how much I love this outfit. It’s completely wrong of me to say it, but tough patootie- I creamed my virtual knickers with glee in this store! SO here you go, a picture to encapsulate clothing heaven. The shoes from Tesla, the outfit from HSC. Look, no silliness inside of the trouser leg..the texture has been lovingly applied to the inside as well..YAY! (Why don’t more people do that?)
