I really don’t know how to write this..so I’ll just let the facts speak for themselves. I received a text message from Dionne on Thursday night that said the following: ” They’ve said I have a few weeks left at most, I wish I could talk to you. Love you lots xxx” I have no idea how she had the strength to write those words. I spoke to her family and they’re bringing her home from hospital today in an ambulance. She’s being sent home with a hospital bed to keep her as comfortable as possible, and she’s going to be attended by Macmillan nurses. Her boyfriend has said that she’s asleep most of the time now and is as comfortable as can be expected. Having fought so long and so very hard it seems that her body has no fight left, but I know Dee is as stubborn and strong-willed as a mule and will not give up until her very last breath. Obviously I’ve cleared the decks so that I can be with her and I’m going to see her this weekend once she has been brought home and settled. Please keep her in your thoughts as she approaches the end of her journey..

It’s ‘Relay for Life’ tomorrow and I hope that you will offer it as much support as you can muster, and whoever your loved ones are in real life or Second Life, please hold them close and know that you are so very blessed to have them and call them ‘friend’.

I just wanted to share with you all that Deedee isn’t well. She has been admitted to hospital by ambulance this afternoon for tests. As regular readers will know Deedee Fadoodle is my closest friend in real life and has been bravely fighting cancer for a number of years. Alas the rotten bloody thing has spread throughout her body, but she has fought it with grace and as much strength as she can muster. She was very poorly back in March of this year, but rallied round and I hope this visit to hospital will be just as brief and see her back home with her family as soon as possible. I’ll keep you updated but ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
