A break from the Kitties…Happy Chinese New Year!

Welcome to the Chinese New Year of the Ox!
Well, I was born in 1973, so that makes me an ox by birth…I was going to say a cow but you’d have taken that completely the wrong way. The year of the Ox is usually a year of hard work and endeavour with new challenges for all. Sounds familiar huh? Oxen are,and I quote: “Born leaders who will work hard to achieve their aims. Dependable, good organisers and not easily influenced by others. Patient, loyal to their friends and expect loyalty in return. Tend to have lasting relationships.” (Actually that all rings true;not being big headed or owt, but yes that does kind of sum me up! I’m a Virgo as well which has similar traits to boot..) I’ve celebrated by enjoying a rather scrummy Chinese meal tonight, and I wish all of my readers a very prosperous year!

(Incidentally, if you’re wondering that’s quite an old picture above, but I had to share it again with you because I’m wearing the beautiful, timeless Tang Dynasty Gown by Nicky Ree…perfect, huh?)

Well, seeing as I’ve squandered all my spondoolicks I thought I’d read the forums for a while, of course knowing full well that this will be utter torture.  Nicky Rees has posted some corking gowns, not all to my taste tbh ( although I do have a few of her wondrous confections in my collection) and then I saw this:

Now the great irony in this is ( and let’s face it, there is ALWAYS a great ruddy irony) I have no need for a gown.  I have plenty.  I don’t go to posh places that require me to wear such beautiful attire..as always, a thinly veiled dig at Jez there.  I don’t even do feathers FFS, BUT something about this made me come over all light-headed and yearning. I love the shape, I love the detail on those feathers, I absolutely adore the neckline and the hair the model is wearing is a perfect compliment. Clearly I have not yet recovered from my surgery last week, but if I had not shared this with you dear reader then I would have been committing a huge crime against SL Fashion, and all that I hold dear.  Please please go and see it in her shop and report back to me on how utterly moist-making it is.  I thank you .
