I’ve just had a review box dropped on me by Orchid Dreams and I swear to god it’s like Christmas day all over again.
For now though, a sneak preview….

Check out The Avastar this week, as the lead story suggests that furries are in decline. I really hope not. The grid would be such a boring place without the colour and originality that furries bring to our virtual world, and the fact that that Luskwood, a beautiful place if you’ve never been, gets griefed on a daily basis saddens me no end. I have a fair few friends who indulge in furriness and it makes not a jot of difference to our personal relationships, so why the big deal? It’s amazing isn’t how just like in RL there are those who believe that certain groups and movements should be suppressed and driven into extinction or driven underground. It’s utterly pathetic. I’m confident that we’re not witnessing furry genocide though..remember these guys have teeth and claws and DO fight back. Offer your support, I swear if you visit Luskwood you’ll have an amazing time. Engage a local in conversation, say ‘Hi’, in fact even better offer them a hug and just show them that you care. Second Life would be a poorer place without them.

(Dontcha just love Roy Orbison?) Just read this blog post about dreaming about SL in RL. This is something I’ve done a few times but each time I’ve woken up and gone ‘WOW!’. I have relatively good dream recall coming to think of it, and my dreams have always been of the technicolour big screen variety. My most vivid one was just before Christmas, where I was flying around the metaverse as my RL self, but a psychedelic version of me. In fact, everything around me was as though it was real, physical and tangible BUT rendered in a SL style. It’s hard to describe, but if you’ve ever experienced it then you’ll know exactly what I mean. I also use a trick when I’m having trouble sleeping..I walk around my SL house, or recount walking around some of the beautiful places in world. It’s amazing how well I can recreate these places in my minds eye. That could be partly due to training I’ve had in visualisation techniques as part of my RL Witchery, but it’s astounding nonetheless. When you can immerse yourself completely in the world to the point where you can make yourself feel the virtual warmth coming from your fireplace then you know you’ve got either an exceptionally vivid imagination, or you are completely mad:) I go for the former, although it’s probably the latter that is true:) Either way I can do it very well..which kind of enhances the experience of being in a virtual world somewhat. I wondered if many of you do that too? Have you found that using Windlight has meant that your virtual experience has become more intense? Be interested to see what you have to say on the subject.
