Kitty the Pixel Doll

Kitty the Pixel Doll

Pixel Dolls have released some lovely seasonal frocks for your perusal. I’m in love with all of them, and you can check them out by clicking here– BUT I just wanted to share this particular beauty with you. It’s a bit nice isn’t it? It’s got a lovely woolly texture, and looks absolutely spot on with this ETD hair, Redgrave earrings and Curio skin in ‘Nightshade’. This is smart enough to wear in the virtual office and dressy enough to go virtually partying in…team it with some nice boots from the likes of Maitreya and you’re on to a winner if you ask me. Incidentally don’t me norks look fab in this dress? You could almost imagine sticking your face in-between ’em and going ‘Pffflllubbbllleee!’

Sorry. I was only saying what you were thinking!!

Fabulous Autumn Fashions? Ain’t that the TRUTH

Fabulous Autumn Fashions? Ain’t that the TRUTH

Yet again my plans for an evening of Second Life excitement were foiled by the sudden onset of narcolepsy that I seem to have acqui…..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

But inbetween my Z’s I must share with you that TRUTH has reopened and it has some amazingly spangly stuff on offer. There’s an uber snazzy new building and layout too, with an Industrial/Asian theme that is really impressive…but let’s quit with the flannel and get straight to the good stuff, and there’s plenty of that to be had here! Get ready for a kitty-gasm:)

First things first then, the ‘Hearts’ tops, which feature a delicate heart pattern over the left side ( bet they were up all night thinking of what to call them, huh? Sarcy Kitty:) There’s a keyhole back, with an uber-cute heart shaped fastener and they’re nothing short of easy- wearing perfection. At first glance these tops appear charmingly simple, but look again and you’ll see sublime waist-creasing which bucketloads of realism and basically makes these an essential purchase. The colour options are perfect for the season, and as with most purchases from Truth the price is really reasonable too. I confess that a lot of clothing works for me because I can imagine myself wearing it in real life, and these ‘Hearts’ tops are no exception to that rule. I want them..they’re so lovely! The ‘Hearts’ tops mix and match perfectly with jeans and trousers ( I didn’t try them with a skirt but my guess is that they’ll still look fab..perhaps a long A-line with chunky boots would be perfect…) and because the pack features tucked and untucked versions of the top you’ll not have any issues with the wearability. Bingo bango bongo for those then! ( It’s Friday, can’t you tell?) Moving on…I must admit I was a tad surprised to see shorts on offer at Truth for the Autumn/Winter season, but stick with me on this because it’s really not as daft as it sounds.Think layering here; stick these beauties on over a pair of patterned tights and team with heels or boots for a funky look. There’s a tribal design over the right side which makes these bang up-to-date; and as per usual the textures, colour choices and overall look of these is spot on. I’m not really a shorts kinda gal, but I’ve lapped these up like a kitty with the proverbial cream……More Autumnal in aspect are the Cherokee and Assassin vests (bodywarmers to us common types) Now, I’ve seen these before in Second Life but with varying degrees of success. Some of the more unfortunate examples I’ve seen render the user akin to the Michelin Man..but not so these beauties. The pattern choices and the seaming are spot on, just like all the other items that I haven’t even mentioned, including the Tropicana dress, the Jack Sparrow Capri (love the name) and the Skyline  tank. My absolute favourite though has to be Veronica. There’s something almost comforting ( I know, I’m crackers) about this top and again it mixes and matches really well with other items in your wardrobe. I love the sculpted cowl collar and the stripe combo colours are ace.
I’m seriously impressed by this collection and the whole lot deserves to be bought by everyone and worn to death:) Note- I haven’t even mentioned the exciting new menswear range , which is rather magic.  I need Jez to be in world so that I can deck him out in the requisite pieces; so I’ll leave that one for you to investigate on your own..and don’t even get me started on the new hair..oh the hair!! ( Kitty goes all wibbly and runs off to have a lie down because of all the excitement)

Kitty likes MALT

Kitty likes MALT

(My mum used to give me this weird yummy malt extract stuff on a spoon as a kid..wonder if you can still get it? I’ll ask her, she probably has a jar from 1978 festering away in a cupboard) Ahem. Malt is a store that I have never frequented before. More fool me, because it’s a bloody cracker. I got a notice about a fashion show and seeing as I had bugger all else going on I thought I’d pop along and investigate, and oh boy am I a pleased Kitty! The store is gorgeous, designer Khea Karas has done an excellent job, and the fashion show was well presented and choreographed (three models, alas daft chuff that I am I didn’t jot down their names, but they were the best models I’ve seen in Second Life to date) I liked the way that the seating was laid out; comfy cushions loosely placed around the catwalk which was in-turn suspended over a floor with water underneath..it looked lovely. I settled down and got myself ready for what was an utterly delightful presentation featuring lots of signature pieces including…wait for it…BABYDOLL DRESSES! Now, you ALL know how I feel about babydolls, so it’s Kitty confession time…I think these are FABBO! (They’re called Tyrilha and cost L$250, and are described as short and long babydoll dress and top)Wanna know why? Well, not only are the textures and colours smashing, but the babydoll hem is assymetric and it just makes them look *so* much better. Seriously, I hate these kinds of frocks and I’m ruddy well wearing one and LOVING it! (Incidentally, the one that I’m wearing in Gold is FREE in store right now, I know you can’t see the hemline but just trust me on this ok? This babydoll does not make you look eight and a half months gone:) Other highlights from the show were the swimsuit combos(Evangalea, L$250)  which also feature babydoll attachments that mean the swim suits can be dressed up or down, or even worn with jeans, skirts and trousers, making them perfect for mixing and matching and of course meaning more outfit for your Linden dollar. I also loved the jackets, belt-scarves and bags in store and could have spent a small fortune there. I’m even going to stick my neck out here and say that I actually think this Tyrilha babydoll dress is the shape of the season! I know! Trust me reader – I’ve not ingested any funny mushrooms or anything, and I still stand by my suggestion that the majority of babydoll dresses in world are uber-minging..but this is a great dress. It just *works*  I also heartily recommend that you join the in-store group as there were some sensational freebies distributed to group members during the show…oh, and a final note-I have no idea what’s happened to this picture as it certainly didn’t look like this when I was fannying about on my Flickr..but like the babydoll I think this looks rather good too! There’s a hint of California about the whole look if you ask me..I think all my recent headaches must be having an effect. I wouldn’t normally style myself like this, but I was just messing around with the reams of hairstyles in my inventory and thrust (ooer missus!) this one upon my bonce, and it just ‘fit’. I think there’s an Eva Longoria vibe going on here…ANYWAY..Malt, go there NOW!

( Kitty PS..check out the cardi and cargo shorts in this pic…nice huh?)
