Trying an ‘alternative’ lifestyle in SL can be a tad pricey should you decide that after all your investment pretending to be a wolf or a squirrel isn’t actually for you. Take Neko for example – there are some utterly stunning skins and various cat like appendages out there to be make you completely feline fantastic, but they come at a price, and if you decide that it isn’t your scene then you’ll be sorely out of pocket. I dabble with Neko occasionally if I’m in the mood, but I’m far from hardcore. However I do own a few pairs of scripted ears and tails in different colours that were quite expensive, so imagine my utter delight when I found these superb freebies by Kosh up for grabs on SLX. To make them even better than your average ear and tail sets they come scripted *and* fitted with piercings too! Utterly splendid and well worth trying..plus they’re black so they go with everything. I really rate these, and I had a look around the Kosh mainstore and was quite impressed by what I saw..defo worth checking out if you’re into grunge and metal shenanigans. What with the credit crunch being a right royal pain-in-the-ass it makes sense to scour the grid for *quality* freebies. I stress the word QUALITY there, because I’m afraid there is some total cobblers  to be had, and you really do have to sift through the crud to find the diamond in the rough. But when you do, it’s sure to be the sparkliest diamond you ever did see…and here’s a prime example. I’ve just discovered a store called ‘Runo Runo’ and it’s rather special. For a start the jumper I’m wearing here is a FREEBIE. Yes, you read correctly, this quality number is a freebie from SLX. There is nothing I dislike about this- the texture, the fit and the styling are just bloody wonderful and the fact that it costs NOTHING makes it all the more special. This is an essential for your Autumn/Winter wardrobe readers, but not just that- this is haute couture styling, make no mistake about that! I dunno if it’s intentional but there’s a real Issey Miyake feel to the pieces featured, and here’s the best bit- on SLX you can get four freebie pieces from this designer, and the prices for the rest of the collection are..wait for it..L$50. Now, when quality is *this* good, I would actually pay more, but Runo Runo proves that you don’t have to. It kinda makes me wonder why we’re happy to pay the prices that we do for clothing on the grid when some designers are more than happy to flog their wares for pennies..Anyways, go and get the freebies that Runo Runo has to offer…they’re *very* special, and check out the main store too. You know how sometimes in real life  you can feel decidedly ‘Meh’? Well, you can feel like that in Second life too. For all my so-called shopping expertise ( SNORT! SPLUTTER! GUFFAW!) I can often find myself in world thinking I’ve nowhere to go and nothing to do..utterly pathetic really. However, sometimes meh-moods are a good thing. Example: In world the other night mooching around, I thought I’d poddle over to CURIO again to play with their skins. You see, they really impressed me, but not just that-the build itself is pretty cool for wandering around so I did just that-TP’d over and almost peed myself with excitement. Gala Phoenix has released four new make ups and oh my goodness they are bloody scrummo! I quickly got them and a few others I’d had my Miriel eyeballs on and raced home to play dress up. ( I nearly wrote ‘skin-up’ there but that would have been too weird!) I have to say that these latest additions may have just tipped my Redgrave skin from first place. This particular make-up is called ‘Dusty’ and it’s just chuffing sublime if you ask me..I adore it. Teamed with my requisite Miriel eyes and Truth hair I think it looks bloody lovely…BUT what really finishes this off is this snuggly wuggly wrap from Orchid Dreams. I want this in real life ( I say that constantly these days don’t I? I care not a jot..) it looks spot on with its gorgeous woolly argyle check pattern and fabulously floppy cowl collar. You can’t see in this piccy, BUT it has black lace edging and a teensy weensy bow…uber cute. Blinking bargain too..L$99 in a load of smashing colours for all your Autumnal leaf kicking needs! Purrr! Happy non-meh Kitty! Weee!

Nuala Shippe really made my birthday- she sent me a lovely gift which I’m wearing in this photo….yes, I *know* I’m not wearing anything, ahem-look at my finger chuffnuts! See? This rather gorgeous ring is from her stack ring set. It’s available in six colourways (I have all of them-lucky kitty!)and they are seriously special. I’ve seen these rings in real life, or at least very similar and they cost a bloody fortune, so yet again Second Life wins out by allowing you to have nicies without the stupid price tag. Kunstkammer describes itself as ‘architectural and metaphysical salvage’, which I think sounds really rather jolly, and there is some cracking stuff available at their store. I’ve treated myself to some ‘Bast’ eyes ( I’m called Kitty, so how could I not?) but there are some really nifty wares here-including a personal raincloud, a cocoa-cup skybox (You sit on marshmallows! It’s ace!) some great candles, crystal balls and a lovely table and chairs set. There’s also a vintage lightbulb string that is an absolute ruddy bargain and it’s copy and modify too-essential purchase or all the parties that will soon be kicking off in the near future! I really look forward to seeing lots more from Nuala-she’s got a really good eye for design and her prices are excellent.
