Guys, this is GOOD. One of the joys of Second Life is taking photos and modelling your very latest fabulous fashion finds. Vainglorious cow that I am I’ve accumulated a fair few wonderful photo studios and accessories over the months, but I’m pretty sure that I don’t use them to their full potential. That’s probably a combination of stupidity, ineptitude and sheer laziness on my part-in short, the majority of the time when taking photos I wing it, and it usually works:) Which is where this freebie find comes in, because it takes winging it to another level…For absolutely nowt you can be the proud owner of a nice white globe with pre-loaded pose stand. Sounds extremely boring doesn’t it, UNTIL you start to use it… it’s ACE! It’s probably one of the best freebies I’ve ever come across-seriously! It takes minimal intelligence to operate. You stand on the pose stand inside the globe and snap away, using one of the 73 poses that come pre-loaded. It’s 4 prims total. That’s it.
Alright, I know it sounds less than impressive but do not be fooled.. I’ve been using it for all my shots recently and as you can see it enables you to take great snaps. Because it’s a white background it’s perfect for fashion shots (one thing I’ve realised is that despite all the backgrounds I have I tend to stick to plain old white because clothes look better against it plus you can always cut your image out and lay it over another background should you wish) If you play around with the environmental lighting effects you can change the tone of your pictures. Repositioning the globe itself also influences the lighting effects too. (Because the globe has a ‘slice’ missing if you turn it toward or away from the light you can achieve some nice effects)
Going back to the poses, some are plain awful and there are a limited number for male avatars, but there are some really nice ones in there too. I’ve used one for this close up shot above. Ok my arm looks a bit deformed but the overall image is, I’m sure you’ll agree..great! Of course, it’s easy to add your own poses to the stand if you wish. So if you’re considering a photo studio purchase, are a complete newbie and would like to start taking Second Life fashion shots, or are just curious I heartily recommend you pop on over to SLEX and indulge yourself. A final tip, get yourself a freebie facelight and random smiler and you ‘re good to go for absolutely no cost at all. I *wish* I’d known about this before, I really would have saved myself some serious dosh. Marx Dudek, the creator, is also exceptionally helpful, so what have you got to lose? Go get a ‘Genuinely Useful FREE Portable Model’s Photo Studio’ and have fun! Get yours HERE.

(Yawns) So much to tell you all about…but I’m tired, and can’t think straight, so bed time for this sleepy kitty.
I *promise* that I will tell you about some rather nice places to spend your Lindens this week, including where to get this stunning colour change bed, but until then time to catch some Zzzzzzzzzz’s.
Nighty night!
(PS Quick one, this beautiful shirt is free from ‘Blaze’ when you join the subscribe-o-matic in store. Purrfect, non?)
New frock at Canimal fills Kitty with gay ‘Abaddon’
Puntastic huh? Canimal has some scrummy yummy glorious dress happiness in store, and let’s face it you can never have enough nice frocks, especially little black ones:)
This one is called ‘Abaddon’ and it’s L$200. It’s also rather snazzy, looks great dressed up or down and works equally well with boots or heels…I like it very much, it certainly ain’t a ‘bad ‘un’…ahem, sorry. (Yes I do look a tad startled in the picture don’t I? It’s the shock of a fashion-fabulous Monday morning. Oh ok, it isn’t, it’s my piles again…)Incidentally, check this picture out of Canimal modelling this frock…she’s gone for an Amy Winehouse feel to the photo shoot and boy does she look like a right strumpet!!! Fantastic work Canimal:) I should also mention whilst I’m wittering on about Canimal that she’s also produced some shoes, and rather excited she is about it too. Rightly so, they’re wonderful. She’s described them as ‘Trashy-glamorous’ and I couldn’t agree more..the ‘Shock Value Stilettos’ like the freebies from Ivey below, feature a skull and bow design and are super-lovely. What with the free shoes from Ivey today and these new shoes at Canimal it seems that we’re heading towards slutty shoe heaven! So, here are your instructions for shopping happiness today… Go to Snatch, get free shoes. Peruse wares at Snatch, and buy lots. Go to Canimal. Buy shoes. Look around Canimal, decide you like the Abaddon frock. Buy that too.
Virtual wallet will of course be empty, but just think of the warm fuzzy glow you’ll have inside:)
DeeDee’s memorial

Cassandra hosts a memorial park, and walking around it is very humbling. You don’t realise how many people have been loved and lost in Second Life until you wander around and see the tributes that have been placed around. There are a lot of them. As soon as I discovered the place I wanted a memorial to DeeDee to be placed there..somewhere to visit in the virtual I guess. I had planned to visit her grave in RL this weekend, but I’m struggling with that at the mo. I need to go of course, but the fact is I know I’ll crumble, and self-indulgent as it is to write this here, I’m not doing so well. If you’ve been through a loss yourself I’m sure you can relate..my brain is full of utterly mad thoughts and ramblings, some of them good, some of them not so. My dreams are a real mess, and yesterday when I was shopping in RL for a split second I thought I saw Dee. Seriously, there was a woman who had her back turned to me and was the same shape and appearance..my heart just stopped and I felt sick. Jez was with me, he saw her too ( yes she was real) and knew exactly where I was coming from when I said that I had thought it was her. Anyway, back to this lovely memorial that Mike Burleigh created for me and placed at Cassandra. It’s lovely, and Mike runs this place out of the goodness of his heart, as he recognises the need for a park like this in the virtual world. (There are a few more actually, one of my favourites being ‘Tribute Island’ run by the ever lovely Nikk Huett) This is the first time I visited and it’s peaceful and well worth a look. People have left flowers, candles and pictures to their loved ones and although poignant it proves that in the virtual, just like real life, loving rememberance can go on. If you’d like to visit, click here.
