Avastar 47 Out Now!

Latest issue is out now and you can download it for FREE.  Spanking issue as per usual, bursting at the seams with articles and events.  ( I know they loads to cover this week as two pieces I submitted have been held back) Nice to see that Remembrance Sunday got a mention..I’ll be visiting the virtual cenotaph in world to pay my respects.

The Meebo has landed!( And a squillion other widgets as well)

I’d never bothered with Meebo before but I’ve been in a veritable widget frenzy and have finally succumbed.  This means that should you happen across the site and fancy saying ‘Hello’, then via the wonders of modern technology you can and I’ll reply! I’ve also disabled the Sonific facility so it doesn’t automatically launch into Mark Ronson.  Not that there’s much wrong with that, but I know it can be a tad annoying..So, if you want to hear music from Mark and Amy Winehouse, Calvin Harris, The Editors, Manics and other peeps then press the play button, adjust the volume and enjoy whilst reading.  Finally, should you fancy seeing a choice music video then scroll down the page to see a fine selection chosen by yours truly, including Richard Hawley, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna and Kate’s singing bush. I tried to put ‘Ruby the swearing parrot’ on from Youtube, but it didn’t work (so you’ll just have to go and find her yourself:)  All I need now is a biscuit dispenser and a kettle and you will never have to leave your chair or this web site again! Isn’t progress EXCITING? Oh please be excited..go on, just pretend even if it’s only a little bit…

What do you think? I’m going for a suitably retro feel here, and I’m really excited. I love live music, and I loved Richard’s last album. Been watching some of his videos on ‘Youtube’ today and I love the way they are filmed…they seem so ‘familiar’ in their style. Perhaps that is because Sheffield is so close to where I live?

We have music! YAY!

We have music! YAY!

Eee, this technology thing, good innit?  As you can probably hear by now I’ve uploaded the ‘Sonific’ widget to the website. ( I wanted to use the ‘Last FM’ one instead but I can’t get it to work) Sonific is very good but you are limited to trolling through lots of unknown tripe to get to the unknown good-stuff.  However, there IS some good stuff on there- this song by ‘Spray’ for instance called ‘Child of the 80’s’, which I love.  Reminds me of PSB’s/Dubstar.  The playlist moves on to play choons from Mark Ronson and the Manic Street Preachers if you’re on the site long enough.  Oh and there’s a volume button as well so you can turn it down if it gets on your nerves..
