Fukmi makes my Friday feel all ‘Sproingy!’

I’m a tired wee Kitster. I’m busy in real life, and now I’m busy in Second Life developing my shapes ready for launch. It’s an exciting time, but hasn’t left me much room for blogging new releases. Fortunately Fukmi Sideways dropped a couple of boxes of happiness upon me and this gorgeous top and trousers combo was in one of them. Isn’t it lush? It’s called the ‘Sproingy’ set and includes jewellery and shoes ( not shown) and is great quality with nice textures and very easy to adjust prim attachments. I’m all for the easy life me:) Fukmi really does create some great clothing, but what I love most of all is the fact that you can really see her continued development as a designer shining through her latest releases. I always ask myself the question, “Would I wear that in real life?” and the answer here is an unequivocal YES! What’s not to love? This is such a great outfit for summer for starters, plus all the additional elements make it, as always, superb value for money. Fukmi as you’re probably aware has an amazing range of items in her store and features a concept called ‘Dress Me Separates’; items specially created and selected for their mix and matchability. This is a prime example of that . For this look I’ve added a scarf from Callie Cline, (something that I’ve barely taken off since Callie gave it to us during Blogger Appreciation week), tatts from Sn@tch, hair from The Abyss and specs from Insolence ( these are my fave, they’re called ‘Danielle’ and I really love them) and voila! A rather snazzy girl about town look. I genuinely adore this and although I don’t want to keep bleating on about but it’s so immensely satisfying to see a designer who you’ve observed from the beginning go from strength to strength. Well done Fukmi, the ‘Sproingy’ set has indeed made my Friday just that little bit more…well, sproingy!

Fukmi! Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s….

‘Blogger Kitty!’

Apparently, I’m a ‘blogging legend’. Which is nice.
..especially when someone writes that about you as a notecard that is enclosed with an outfit named after you! Yes, I’ve inspired an outfit, which is *perfect* for blogging in, as well as extreme ironing, mountain biking, shopping, gynaecological appointments and I’m sure you could sleep in it if you wanted to…I jest of course. Fukmi Clothing has an outfit in my honour called ‘Blogger Kitty’, which is a lovely little package of separates that you can mix and match to your virtual hearts content. Fukmi has found her niche within the reasonably priced separates sector of Second Life, and her outfits are great for dressing up and down. Each season she selects a palette of colours, and me being a Virgo and loving Autumn I was especially pleased to see that she’d elected Autumnal shades for this set, so ‘Blogger Kitty’ is available in red, yellow, purple and teal. You get a lot of pieces for your Linden too. In each set is a turtleneck sweater, vest, vest dress, shorts, socks and a bonus off-the-shoulder top. I’ve really gone to town for the photos and have mixed up the items using the different colour options available to show you how well they compliment each other. They’re really easy to wear, and even better they’re tattoo friendly, something that not all designers consider. It’s such an honour to have an outfit named after you, and it’s even nicer when the outfit is a good ‘un. All items are modify, which is great as I found the skirt and prim collar and cuffs required adjustment, but it was as easy as pie to sort. I’ve also been wearing the pieces with other items in my virtual wardrobe, and can say that the tops look excellent with jeans. I’ve been accessorising mine with chunky bangles, beads and bracelets in zingy colours and it looks fab. (Actually, if you have some Gritty Kitty items in your inventory you’ll find that they look rather cool with Fukmi’s pieces, and they also blend well with Snatch and Nekorifik! items to boot, which means they are great value too. I’ll take some more shots later in the week for ‘Kitty Essentials’ featuring ‘Blogger Kitty’ so you can see what I mean:)Fukmi Clothing now has a satellite store in Angel Square, so poddle on over and if you like what you see use the LM located there to head off to her flagship store and get yourself all blogged up and Kitty-like, yay! =^..^=
A wander around ‘Angel Square’

A wander around ‘Angel Square’

.

You know, following on from yesterdays post it occurred to me that it was about time I gave Angel Square another plug. It’s such a great little place with a smashing vibe. It features a small market surrounded by residences and located nearby is the rather wonderful ‘The Crown and Pearl’ bar. Obviously I’m being a tad biased here seeing as it’s where the Kittywitchin Office is located, BUT there are some rather wonderful stores here too. It’s a great place for bargain hunting- the wares on offer are very reasonable and for both newbies and serious shoppers alike it’s well worth a regular visit. If you’ve never been before, the area has a tiki hut vibe to it, and is nicely landscaped. It looks particularly good at night, as the flame torches on the bridge flicker in the breeze..

So what is there to see? Clothing, jewellery and furniture designs. Dominating the square is Alfrik Northmeads’ ‘North’, his flagship home furnishing store and there are some rather scrumptious treats to behold. Alf is also an accomplished photographer and you can purchase some of his pieces in-store. I recommend his lighting solutions- stylish, practical and affordable and the perfect finishing touch to a room. Moving around the square you’ll then find ‘Damsel’, which is Ryker Becks new store and it is YUMMY. You can never get enough mixy matchy fun separates if you ask me..and the halter tops here are to die for. Highly recommended:) There’s another furniture store, ‘Bare Equipment’ by the wonderfully named Rudolph Moo. Now, I don’t know Rudolph but he’s obviously an accomplished designer judging by the leather sofa on display. I would say though that in the store lacks the sparkle that North has, so Rudolph jazz it up a bit mate and I’m sure your sales will flourish. ( I know it’s called ‘Bare Equipment’ but the store doesn’t have to look so, well, bare!) Next up we have Fae Designs from Ashlinn Mcmillan. This is a great wee store, Ashlin produces lovely, delicate jewellery, and I particularly like her Labradorite items, the textures are excellent. We then move on to SF Designs from the one and only Swaffette Firefly. Swaffy is not only bloody lovely, but she’s also a prolific clothing designer and very talented to boot. I cannot wait until Winter comes around again because last year I bought a superb sheepskin jacket, skirt and boots combo from her ( can’t remember what it’s called) and it looks *ace*. Bear in mind that this is a satellite store, but there’s enough here to wet your appetite and you can follow the LM provided to Swaffy’s emporium of wares.

Now, the next store isn’t actually a store as such, it’s just a display advertising an item that may be of interest to certain readers…anyone for a ‘Sex Anywhere’ bracelet? I didn’t even know these existed, and should you be so inclined to try one it can be yours for a measly L$198! Apparently it also includes ‘Slave Play’. Which is nice.

Moving swiftly on, Angel Square’s latest resident ‘Fukmi Clothing’ has just launched her fall separates collection and it’s great, featuring nice and neat cardigans and cords in Autumnal shades, perfect for jazzing up any ensemble. Plus Fukmi’s offering some cracking freebies to visitors, a lovely T-shirt and jeans combo for bugger all, so obviously you need to go and investigate pronto:)

So that’s the stores covered..there’s also a Seven Seas fishing game vendor and a snazzy hammock for relaxing next to the fishing pond, and en route to the Crown and Pearl there’s an SLX terminal. Incidentally if you *really* like the area there is also land for sale too, or you can rent one of the three remaining stores. ( Hurry-this is a popular little place!) It only costs L$150 a week you get 50 prims to play with, but if you have any queries just IM Bailey Longcloth and she’ll be more than happy to discuss with you. So, wanna visit? Click HERE then:)

*UPD* FUKMI Summer Collection out now…..

*UPD* FUKMI Summer Collection out now…..

…and it rocks.  Oh yes, a great collection of separates in sherberty summery colours can be yours if you venture over to Fukmi Clothing.  I confess, I had no idea about this label until Amanda introduced me, and now that Fukmi is her missus-to-be I’m also seeing how involved the process of being a designer is in SL.  It’s not just getting the textures, the shapes and creating the outfits, it’s the modelling, the creation of ads and the whole shebang.I’m busy enough and I only do this blog, so it must be a full time job working as a designer in SL, and lets face it, you aren’t going to be making megabucks! It’s definitely done for the love, not the money..hence my inclusion of the IP Rights poster below….Anyway, back to the clothing.  If you take a wee peekette at the Flickr stream you’ll see me modelling some of the wares, but even better visit the blog   We’re talking casual tees and jeans here, as well as lovely halter necks and also nice bra-tops.  Fukmi is on a mission to increase her styling abilities and expand her range, and her work is very good indeed.  I love the citrus palette she’s chosen for this season too. Think rainbow crystals ( those bags of multi-coloured tooth rotting sherbert we all gorged as kids) and you’ve probably gotten a good idea of the colours that she is featuring in her collection.  The blog features posters of Fukmi’s available wares, and I particularly like the ‘Teaseshirts’ and ‘Peekaboo Tees’, as well as her ‘Rock Star’ latex combos.
