Arm warmers ahoy!

Arm warmers ahoy!

I’m really becoming rather keen on ‘Concrete Flowers’, which is a fabulous, somewhat eclectic wee store that sells a wonderful array of clothing and oddments. It tends toward urban/grunge styling, but is not as in your face as other outlets which means you can mix and match their wares rather well with more mainstream brands.
I took a wander down there yesterday and was delighted by these amazing armwarmers that they sell in a great range of colours. Aren’t they neat? They look so warm and chunky and I could so imagine having these in real life..in fact, I yearn for some. I love the dangly bits on them too..they’re just such a great addition to any outfit and look extremely realistic. I’m also wearing a dollarbie that’s currently available in stoire too- this wee four leaf clover in a bottle is very sweet ( look-it has a ladybird on it!) and is designed to give you lots of luck..it’s well worth a linden. I hope it works, my inventory drama is still going on with no updates thus far. My inventory is determined that it only has 13, 333 items in it, which is all well and good, but it should have LOTS more than that and it’s all my good stuff that’s gone missing:(

What could be the worst thing that ever happens to your avie?

What could be the worst thing that ever happens to your avie?

..I think I know, because it’s  happened to me.

I didn’t log in-world as much as I’d planned over the holidays, because I was spending the majority of my time doing my best beached whale impressions upon the sofa while watching Doctor Who and munching on chocolates.  If you thought Moby Dick was the great white whale, then you’re sorely mistaken.

But joking aside something has happened that’s really got my goose in a gander, in fact I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’m having a bit of a panic.

My inventory is buggered. Seriously.

..and it looks as though I’ve lost all my critical items from over THREE years of Second Life.  For me, critical stuff counts as beautiful clothes ( think the ENTIRE Last Call collection for starters, totally irreplaceable) and designer items from the very best names in Second Life fashion..so much stuff that I cannot possibly list it all here. But that’s not even the half of it.  I’ve lost ALL my hair from TRUTH ( I own most of that store and I’m devastated) Magika,  ETD and Calla to name but a few. And then there’s the singularly most expensive investment an avatar can make..the skins. My Curio/Gala Phoenix skins aren’t there..(I teared up at the point I must confess) nor are my Redgrave skins, as well as Laqroki..to name but a few. I could go on but to be honest listing everything here is breaking my non-existent balls..I’m not even going to estimate how much money in SL OR RL has been spent on the items I’m missing, because if I start thinking about it I’ll hyperventilate into next year, but like many serious SL aficionados the majority of my leisure money is spent in world…let’s just leave it there.  The blog almost serves as a catalogue of all my wares; OK I’ve not featured everything that I won BUT if you were to review it over the past two years of existence it demonstrates just what a wide array of objects have been stowed away in my inventory until I needed them again.

When I discovered all this last night I raised a ticket straight away with Linden Lab support, but so far no-one has got back to me. I’m at the point where I can’t even log in at the moment because I’m so upset..yes, I know Kitty, get a grip..this isn’t real life BUT the fact remains that I’ve invested time, money and above all LOVE into building my inventory and to see it so decimated is just heart breaking.

I estimate that I’ve lost around 10000-15000 items.

IF Linden Lab come back to me and tell me my losses are irretrievable, well I just don’t know what I’ll do..so please readers, cross everything for me, and I’ll keep you posted on the situation…I’m off for a cup of tea and a lie down..sob…

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Blimey..another festive season over and done with like *that* Goes too quickly doesn’t it? I hope you’ve had a corker, and it must be said that the festive season in Second Life was especially good this year..LOTS of parties, LOTS of goodies and LOTS of ho ho ho! But alas, time to return to normal service. I’m going to remember 2009 as the year that I found some really brilliant retailers, and became a store owner myself. It was the year of hunts, hunts and MORE hunts..to the point that the grid became saturated and the backlash began. In fact, 2009 was the year that politics really raised its ugly head and it seemed *everything* suddenly became an issue; drama seemed to seep out of the virtual pores of every blog and the fire was fuelled even further by the arrival of a miscellany of third-party viewers and the dreaded copybot…It was the year that saw ‘Shopping Cart Disco’ go from strength to strength as many other blogs and sadly businesses in world closed for good. My predictions for 2010 aren’t many. There will be ever-increasing dramas I’m sure, but I think we’ll start to see the beginnings of change upon the grid, starting with ‘Second Life 2.0’ I truly believe that quality will be the driving force of the economy, rather than quantity, with some of the most well-known retailers shunning XstreetSL and utilising other retail providers. I think Second Life will continue to make the headlines, and I feel that it will start to be taken more seriously again as a business tool as the global recession starts to ease. I’m excited by the potential that the content creators have to offer; the clothes, the furnishings and the objects that are going to be created in-world are sure to be amazing…I’m MOIST at the very thought! On a personal level, ‘Kittylicious’ Shapes is going to continue to offer quality shapes at bargain prices. I’m also working on a couple of other business ventures, and of course I’ll spill all the details on here when the time is just right.

Kittywitchin’ I’m afraid will continue in its usual vein..with my sharing some cracking finds with you all, as well as discussing the issues of the day and other assorted nonsense when I can find the time:) Here’s wishing you all a wonderful 2010!
