Kittylicious! Freebie Shape ‘Statuesque’

Kittylicious! Freebie Shape ‘Statuesque’

Would you like a present? Yes? Well, we all like those don’t we:)
I already have a dollarbie shape on offer at my stall, but this one is a complete freebie for your indulgence!

I’m really quite enamoured with it, even if I say so myself. I think the best words to describe this shape are ‘tall and chunky’. The torso is solid, there’s a hint of muscle and the shape itself is seriously height-blessed. The final result is….statuesque!

Watch this space for news on how you can get your mitts on this one for free!

Dee Day

Dee Day

If you know me in world, or if you’re a regular reader of Kittywitchin, then you’ll know my life changed forever a year ago today. That’s when my beloved best friend, Dionne, died after battling Breast Cancer that had spread to her brain, liver and bones. It was, and remains an all too human tragedy, because so many people out there are touched or affected by cancer in its myriad of forms every single day. I’d be lying if I said it’s been an easy year since. It’s not, it’s been a difficult time for all concerned, and her family’s loss is as palpable now as the day it happened. But for me, I can’t explain it properly in words.

From a selfish point of view I miss our kinship.  When you find a true and loyal friend they’re irreplaceable, and I have missed her so badly; I can’t pick up the phone and tell her things I know she’d love to hear and I think of stuff constantly that I want to share with her and she’s not physically here to do that with. Simple things such as just chatting or even giving her a hug, I haven’t been able to do any of that for a year? It’s often said but you never realise the value of the little things until they are beyond your reach.

When you lose someone you love you of course pick yourself up and carry on, and time does heal. But it is never the same without that person, nor will it ever be again. In case you hadn’t noticed, in world it’s been ‘Relay For Life‘, which raises funds for Cancer charities. It’s wonderful to think that even in a virtual world real life is given so much validity, and the fund-raising still continues in earnest.  Dee did her own bit for charity too, and even though she was neverin remission from her cancer, when she was feeling strong enough she threw herself out of a plane on a sponsored parachute jump to raise funds…I’m not saying you should go to those lengths, but every Linden  really does help, so if you can find it in your hearts to donate, please do so.

As for me, I  plan on spending today in RL in quiet reflection for a dearly loved friend. Tonight I’ll raise a glass in her honour as I stare out into a (hopefully) starlit sky..knowing that there’s a star out there named after her that shall shine for all eternity, just like she will in my heart.  Love you Dee xxx

Kitty the forest fairy…..

Kitty the forest fairy…..

..yet another look using the Gritty Kitty Faders hair that I blogged about earlier, BUT that’s not the main reason for the post, no siree:)
This time I want to draw your attention to the skin I’m wearing. It’s called ‘Fairy’s Smile Skin’ ( hence the get up) and is blinking wonderful.

It’s an amazing skin for a number of reasons, but the face is just utterly perfect on this one. For starters, the lips are completely luscious and give the appearance of being moist, due to exemplary colouring and bang on highlighting. Proper poutworthy! The eyes are framed with lashes with wee bobbles on the end of each one, adding to the ethereal look, and they frame the eyes perfectly. There’s a light shade to the lid, and subtle contouring on the chops. It’s a GOBSMACKER of a find for 0L. The other nice part about this is I’d never heard of the brand ‘My Ugly Dorothy’ ( inspired huh?) until it was blogged by FabFree earlier, but now that I have, I know that it’s one to watch very carefully in future.

Incidentally, FabFree has blogged this skin, and three others, in their latest post and all of them are worth checking out. In fact the frock I’m wearing in this picture is from Coquette– I picked it up when I followed Fab Free’s lead on the free Kat skin that you can get by joining the group (See oh sometimes cynical reader, freebies DO work!) Again, I hadn’t heard of Coquette of until I read FabFree’s post.

All in all then a successful evening in the forest glade if you ask me!
Now then, off to pester some pixies and twat some goblins…

*NEW*Gritty Kitty Hair..FADERS

*NEW*Gritty Kitty Hair..FADERS

There are so many reasons that I adore Noam Sprocket. I love him because he has no ego, yet oodles of talent.  I love him because he calls himself a ‘pain in the ass twat’.  I love him because his blog is as dazzling a wonderment of blog happiness as could possibly exist on the interwebs,  and I love him most of all because he never ceases to amaze me with his creations. This is his latest. Its called ‘Faders‘ and is just bloody wonderful. If I ever decided to lop off my locks, then this is the style I’d go for. (Just for the record I wouldn’t though, purely because I am INCREDIBLY lazy and styles such as this one take a lot of work to stay looking so effortlessly funky)
With Faders you have a super-straight fringe jam-packed tight between two super messy lengths either side. The lengths graduate around the skull towards a short messy crown to reveal a sweet, almost pixie-like crop behind, with a super-wispy finish.
It’s effortless, nommable chic and here’s the thing, you don’t have to be wearing the street, edgy, skateboard style that Gritty Kitty rocks so well to be able to enjoy this one. You can mix and match Faders with a multitude of looks and trust me, it’ll work every time.
Here’s a Kitty example; here I am wearing Faders with a boho-tunic, and (out of shot) some super slouchy Maitreya boots. The look is teamed off with wooden bangles and there you have it..doesn’t it look grand? I heartily suggest that you bugger off down to Koreshan and check this one out sharpish, because I predict it is going to be mega-popular on the grid.
(Oh, and another reason for loving Noam, his pricing is bang-bloody-spot on. This style is L$130, utter bargain if you ask me:)
Faders=hair happiness Gritty Kitty style!
