Haven’t been to Dutch Touch for a while- my bad, because as stores go it offers seriously fresh goodies for the savvy shopper. I’ve always held the seperates in high esteem from there..in particular jackets, tops and skirts, but I’ve never invested in Dutch Touch hair until today, and it will be something I wear more often. Dutch Touch have released a number of new styles to celebrate their opening at Willow Beach. The styles aren’t usual Kittywear, BUT as soon as I tried the demos I fell head over heels in love. One of the most exciting things are the combinations of colour (Copper + pink anyone? Sounds ewww but works very well!) and I especially love the styles that feature woollen beanie hats. Eefje is my absolute fave, the hair frames the face beautifully and there’s a lovely twisted bun/plait effect peeking out at the back. It looks lovely, and I simply adore the hat…I’m desperate for a hat like this one in real life! (I live in the UK, so if anyone knows where I can get a similar one please tell me!) I’m wearing it teamed with one of the latest releases from Snatch, ‘Lesser Evil’ and Ivey has excelled herself yet again. She’s picked a wonderful palette of colours for the season and her clothing works extremely well with this Dutch Touch hair…I’ve mixed in a scarf and my panjen gloves to finish the look which is perfect for mooching around some of the chillier parts of the grid. The festive season is starting to kick in, with lots of snowy sims and ice skating galore…yay for Winter!

**Kitty to appear on BBC R4 Woman’s Hour 20th November 10am!!**
I’m stunned that they’ve asked me to participate. Out of all the wonderful blogs on the internet that discuss Second Life and issues pertaining to it, the fact that mine was spotted has of course been a real ego-boost, and I’m really excited about speaking to Jenny and her other interviewees. The participants are Monica Whittey who studies virtual worlds out of Nottingham University and Tim Guest, esteemed author of ‘My Life in Orange’ and ‘Second Lives’ (a book that sits upon my real life bookshelf!) so I’m eager to hear their contributions. I hope I get the chance to get a word in edgeways, and I’m going to strive to ensure that I don’t come across as sounding like a complete pleb. Obviously I don’t want to sound like some sort of nutter who spends all her life pretending to be a virtual character( even though I do!) but hey, this is a perfectly reasonable hobby to participate in and it’s given me lots of personal satisfaction and success. I’m sure other people are as passionate about stamp collecting. Ahem.
Obviously I work in real-life but my boss has very kindly granted me leave so that I can drive over to Radio Sheffield in the morning and take part *LIVE* in the show. I understand that our segment will be first, and I believe the interview will last about ten minutes. I’m probably going to sound a bit silly here, but I take all this relatively seriously (snigger) and will do my utmost to make sure that the subject is treated respectfully, and .with that in mind I promise not to say pissflaps or go all giddy with excitement:)
So dear reader, if you’d like to have your illusions shattered and hear Kitty O’Toole in real life (mad northern bird alert!) then tune in to ‘Woman’s Hour’ on BBC Radio 4 at 10am tomorrow morning! EEP! You can also visit the Woman’s Hour website to access the ‘Listen Again’ feature if you can’t listen live (no guesses for what I’ll be doing when i get home then!) or alternatively download as a podcast.
(Wanna know the sad bit about this? The one person who I’m excited about telling all this to is no longer with us anymore. When something really exciting happens you always want to share with it with your best friends, and I can so imagine how chuffed and excited Dee would be. It’s at times like this that I really feel her loss especially keenly)
Virtually a Neko Kitty..

(I would have thought of a better title for this blog entry, but alas it’s late,I’m a tad pickled and well, I just can’t be bothered on a Tuesday much, know what I mean? Let’s face it, Tuesdays are LOTS worse than Mondays…ahem.)
Mooching around the various Second Life blogs I spotted an entry from ‘Virtual Neko’ which sent me scurrying like a kitten demented ( here’s a visual for you: a cat that’s just stuck it’s bottom on a warm wall in Summer, only it was a bit *too* hot. With me? Good) over to the store that she was blogging about. Useless Kitty that I am, for some reason ‘Atomic Kitty’ has never bipped on my radar before, but I hope I’ve made up for my ignoarance in that respect. It will surely be at the top of my Neko listings in future..because it is KITTYLICIOUS! I don’t stick my cat ears, tail and whiskers on very often, I have to be in the mood for it, but this is a store that would certainly appeal to those who live a constant kitty-cat lifestyle. Aimed squarely at the Neko culture, this store sells items that will basically make you look like the cat’s whiskers (Get used to the puns guys-I’ve been drinking again and that always helps) and then some! We’re talking fashion, furnishings, skins shapes and my favourite item from the store-EYES. Now, I only usually ever wear eyes by Miriel Enfield, because they are puurrfeeccct for me (snigger) *BUT* I think I’ve just fallen in love with the delicious range that Atomic Kitty has to offer. The best part about this is ‘Virtual Neko’ blogged a sale of GARGANTUAN proportions that means half-price store cards and goodies galore (I would tell you about this in detail but seeing as Virtual Neko blogged about it in far more detail and in a much more professional way I think that it’s only fair you visit her blog for the links and details)I dunno if it was the Chardonnay but I seemed to stumble around the store a tad and ended up buying a skin which is very lovely BUT alas the wrong-pigging one..sigh. Don’t drink AND Second Life is the motto here y’all..ahem. Anyway, you need to tip-toe in a cat-like fashion over to Atomic Kitty. If you do Neko in any way shape or form you’re missing a treat if you don’t check it out, and even if you don’t do the Neko I’d still suggest a visit, because a lot of the sublime wares available will appeal to grungey/rocky/cyber and emo types as well. See, something for everything! Versatile, me…(hic!)..Note to Kitty..don’t blog when inebri-inibr-inabri-pissed…hence the slightly blurry effect on the picture above. But just look at those eyes..divine huh? They’re called ‘Silver’ and cost L$100 for a pack of THREE ( dark, medium and light) and contacts too. In other words, a virtual-smeggin’-bargain, make no mistake! Click here unless you want to be forever condemned as a sad, furry trollop!
Show us yer pink bits!
Last night Amanda turned up at my virtual pad, as she is want to do (she never knocks) and she looked *AMAZING*. Now, as you should all be aware by now, I don’t ‘do’ pink. I dislike it intensely. In fact, I think it should be banned! I was never into it as a girl, and certainly don’t like it as an adult. I’ve no idea what sparked the aversion but I swear to God it makes my teeth itch. Anyhoo, Shinjles turned up, decked out from head to toe in a rather snazzy pink ensemble, and because she looked so brilliant I wanted to share it with you here. Now, you may have spotted I’ve fannied about with the colours..this wasn’t really to reduce the pinkness, but because whilst I was playing around with the photo I discovered these fab and groovy settings which I think have resulted in rather an attractive picture! ( no, nothing to do with my refusal to have that much pink on my blog pages… ;P)
But back to the star of the show..Amanda. Even her tattoos are pink..seriously!..and it works perfectly on her. I really love the outfits she chooses, although of course her style for the main is quite different to mine, but there are similarities. For example, she’s wearing the ETD Laine hair that I peed my pants over last week, but, this being the Shinjles, she’s modded it to within an inch of it’s life using different shades of, yes, pink. It does look look great though, and worn with her snazzy robot hoody, skirt, braces and cracking wristwear ( turntable watch anyone?) all makes for a look that’s just pure ‘Second Life’. You know what I mean..touches of cyber, touches of Neko…all mashed up into a virtual pink frenzy! Anyways, here’s to you Miss Cyberpink. You may bring me out in a rash when you’re within ten virtual feet of me, and you have a tendency to make my eyes bleed-but hey, at least you look stylish whilst doing it!
