It’s a kind of Street Magic!

No, I’m not talking about the annoying shenanigans that David Blaine gets up to ..Feast your eyes on this little festive beauty! Finished? Now focus on the outfit I’m wearing instead, ain’t it scrummy yummy? Last night I was like a kitty in a freshly made litter-box, scrabbling around in a frenzy and whooping with joy at the bounty that had been dropped on me in world by a new name to the grid, ‘Street Magic’. There was LOADS of stuff included which I’m going to bore you with over the next week and on my Flickr pictures (Left hand side, down a bit..bingo!) and this delightful little ensemble was included. It’s called ‘ ~Street Magic~’Black Sunday Red Set’ ( L$275) Now on first glance you may think this is a tad ‘Meh’, but ho-ho, not so! (See what I’m doing here? Festive Kitty, available for your Christmas function-book now!) Ahem.

Back to the outfit which is decidedly un-meh indeed. For starters, there’s the dress..it’s a nice, plain black dress with a skirt just the right side of sticky-outy for my tastes. The top is in a plain t-shirt style, but shows off enough of my gargantuan norkage for me and the rest of the grid to be happy:) So far so what I hear you cry, there’re plenty of plain dresses in-world to choose so why should I opt for this one? Well, let me illuminate you dear reader  by shoving  your virtual chops in the direction of the wonderful fabric and texture that make this little black number a cut above the rest. Look, look, LOOK at the detailing! You see? Absolutely fabbo texture choice selected for this piece, and this skirt pleating is absolutely spot on, don’t you think? It’s PERFECT for adding nice winter accessories such as huge scarves and whatever you like to. Add skates, and you have the ideal skating frock..add a pashmina, jacket and some posh boots and you have a chic outfit for going out on the town.  Add  piercings, tattoos and probably the entire range of Gritty Kitty goodies and you have a grungeworthy number just right for hanging out like a virtual emo on street corners. It all works with this fab little frock.

Not only that, the dress comes with these fantastic red arm bracers which look uber cool don’t they? The patterned tights that you can just see peeking into the picture are part of the set too. I ruddy well love it. For the picture I’ve dressed my frock up with the Luster Emerald Skin by Curio which adds a great dash of colour, and looks festive to boot. If you want to go the whole hog and look Christmassy without being overtly blatant about it then I suggest you add this fabbo hair that I’m wearing, which is the latest release by Deviant Kitties. It’s called ‘Wynter’ and get used to it folks cos you’re going to see it *everywhere* Deviant Kitties was packed with avatars trying this style on and no wonder, it’s great fun and looks great in whichever colour option you choose. I’m especially impressed with the Christmas edition which is on sale at a measly L$75 ( it’s a white tipped red shade, very Santa) but for the picture I’ve opted to wear black. I bought a pack of three black shades for L$200. In this pose you don’t really get the full effect of the hair, but it features a modern take on the Princess Leia updo with two buns hoisted high up on your bonce. It’s enhanced with these Christmas lights, which are so quirky and really brought a smile to my chapped, cracked lips (It’s cold) But even better than that the style also gives you the option of wearing texture change ear muffs which means you can co-ordinate with your fave winter accessories like I mentioned before. What’s not to love? I think this is a brilliant outfit that has been superbly executed and I’m going to be plugging Street Magic to death this week because of the rest of the wares they’ve sent me to try..they really are that good. Click HERE for the clothing and HERE for the hair:) I’m off for some mulled wine and a nice sit down.  All this fashion happiness has made me feel quite fatigued.

( Gosh I really do talk batshit sometimes don’t I?)

All wrapped up…..

All wrapped up…..

You know how sometimes in real life  you can feel decidedly ‘Meh’? Well, you can feel like that in Second life too. For all my so-called shopping expertise ( SNORT! SPLUTTER! GUFFAW!) I can often find myself in world thinking I’ve nowhere to go and nothing to do..utterly pathetic really. However, sometimes meh-moods are a good thing. Example: In world the other night mooching around, I thought I’d poddle over to CURIO again to play with their skins. You see, they really impressed me, but not just that-the build itself is pretty cool for wandering around so I did just that-TP’d over and almost peed myself with excitement. Gala Phoenix has released four new make ups and oh my goodness they are bloody scrummo! I quickly got them and a few others I’d had my Miriel eyeballs on and raced home to play dress up. ( I nearly wrote ‘skin-up’ there but that would have been too weird!) I have to say that these latest additions may have just tipped my Redgrave skin from first place. This particular make-up is called ‘Dusty’ and it’s just chuffing sublime if you ask me..I adore it. Teamed with my requisite Miriel eyes and Truth hair I think it looks bloody lovely…BUT what really finishes this off is this snuggly wuggly wrap from Orchid Dreams. I want this in real life ( I say that constantly these days don’t I? I care not a jot..) it looks spot on with its gorgeous woolly argyle check pattern and fabulously floppy cowl collar. You can’t see in this piccy, BUT it has black lace edging and a teensy weensy bow…uber cute. Blinking bargain too..L$99 in a load of smashing colours for all your Autumnal leaf kicking needs! Purrr! Happy non-meh Kitty! Weee!

Ahem! OK, so I recently blogged about how unutterably wonderful I thought REDGRAVE skins were (and of course I haven’t changed my opinion on that in any way, shape or form) but there’s a problem,  and that is once you find an amazing skin you start looking for the next one, and the next..and basically you get completely addicted to skin shopping. You’re always on the lookout for new make-ups and details and tones and, well..it all gets a little bit silly to be perfectly honest. I don’t give a monkeys though, because I’ve just found yet more skin perfection, this time from a company called ‘Curio‘. I’d never heard of them until a FashCon announcement pointed me in their direction..(Damn you Fashcon! /me shakes fist in mock anger) These skins tick all the right boxes, but the make-ups are really something else. It’s like you’ve tumbled head-first into the cosmetics counter in Boots and have sprayed ‘Dazzle Dust’ by Barry M and MAC eyeshadow everywhere (wouldn’t that be fun!)The eyshadow options are to *die* for and I got all breathless and funny when faced with all the choices.  For a start, the skin and make up I’m wearing here is from the ‘Luster’ range, and it’s called ‘Russet’. It’s PERFECT for this season and if you look closely you can see…freckles!! YAY! Kitty is a freckly chops! They are *fabbo* and each skin offers you the choice of with or without freckles , which is just ace. The more I get into skins the more I like the options certain designers offer, and the value that moles, freckles and even small scars add to your appearance should never be discounted.  I’m afraid it does cost to stand out in the crowd, but if that is your aim then a decent skin is your principle investment.  Redgrave skins are pricey, as are Curio, but they’re a seriously worthy investment. Anyways, the reason I’ve treated myself to a few of these is because the eyeshadows and the detailing in some of the make-up options is just staggering. Take the one I’m wearing, ‘Russet’.  The actual eye-make up, the under-eye shading and the lipstick are just divine.  The Dollyrock post a bit further down this page also features me wearing one of the make-ups for this skin (as well as Curio hair!) and it’s called ‘Nightshade’, but there’s nothing deadly about it..the colour choices are simply perfect.  Another one that really blew me away was ‘Emerald’, which as you can imagine is green, but that’s where my previous ‘Dazzle Dust’ metaphor comes in, as the green is so glittery and luminescent that it really does look as though eyeshadow has been scattered across the lids.  It’s not solid blocks of colour, but shading, shading and MORE shading that makes these beauties stand out from the crowd. I want them all and there are *many* packs to choose from.  There’s one called ‘Ivy’ that has, well, ivy-leaf patterned eyeshadow ( I know this sounds mad but trust me it works!) and I could go on but that would be spoiling your fun. Go and try these beauties on,  just for the sheer hell of it, because I KNOW that you will love them! Even if you don’t need anymore skins you should just pay Curio a visit for a seriously fun trying on session..just don’t blame me when you break your Linden-piggy bank!
