25 for 25 Hunt STARTS TODAY!!

Hi-Ho! Hi-Ho! A-Hunting we will go!! 

Now who doesn’t like a hunt at Christmas? Hmm? (Well, I like a nice drink too but you get my point!)

 The 25 FOR 25 Hunt launches today, 5th December, and features 25 stores selling hunt items priced at L$25.

It couldn’t be simpler really, and you’ll find items from established brands such as SOMNIA, APPLE MAY DESIGNS and CIRCA LIVING, mixed in with some less well known labels making this a brilliant way to familiarise yourself with content creators new and old!  The items range from fashion to furnishings, and at my time of writing I know of at least one ToddleeDoo item included that you won’t want to miss! There are some great bags, and some jewellery too. You can check out the full-range of items on the official blog.

In this shot I’m wearing two of the prizes: a fabulous jumper from SOMNIA  (it’s that template again! I think it’s taken over Second Life! Not that I mind, I do like it:) and Sanura Snowpaw has chosen to texture it in a great striped knit that’s really effective and well worth your L$25. (In fact you get FOUR jumpers in the package for your dosh, so it’s well worth a punt!)

I’ve paired it with a rather lovely, delicate necklace from  BLIENSEN + MAITAI.  It’s called ‘Songe Floral’, and I *think* it’s a lily.  It has pearls inside (alas, you can’t see on this picture but trust me, they’re there) and it hangs upon a waxed cord with clasp. You get both silver and gold versions for your L$25, and I’m very taken with it indeed.  Happy Hunting!

I’ve had a fabulous time exploring all the shops and spaces at the CHRISTMAS EXPO 2013. There is just so much to see and enjoy! I’ve been really entranced by so many items from creators that I have never encountered before.  

Here’s an example, LAUDANUM LOLLIPOPS, from the designer Felice Nightfire, features some amazing Fantasy items and toys that virtual kiddies will have EPIC virtual tantrums over.  (I wonder if there’s an animation for that? There HAS to be!)

See what I mean? I’m talking dinosaur plushies, rockets, laser guns and elephants, train sets and much, much more. I love it; the colours, the textures, the way the items are designed make this an emporium of Christmas delights for young and old alike. It’s a magical banquet of Yuletide happiness, it really is!  Not only that, but the RFL item in-store for the ladies  is a bit spesh…

           This Christmas mesh frock is yours for L$200, monies which go straight to Relay For Life. It’s a perfect choice for a posh night out in-world; I’ve teamed it with another RFL charity item, the BLIENSEN + MAITAI ‘Tannenbaum’ necklace in White.  Oh, and the little stars are another treat to be discovered at LAUNDANUM LOLLIPOPS-This is ‘Tiny Cosmos’, and these kawaii stars circle you as walk and change their expression as they twist and turn. GORGEOUS!

Festive Fun Galore At SL Christmas Expo 2013!

Guys, I’ve just been having a mooch around the Christmas Expo.

I posted earlier about the event but hadn’t actually had the chance to drop by, and now that I have I must tell you that it’s a bit of a corker!

It’s beautifully landscaped with the build creating a real vintage Christmas feeling. There  is something for everyone here, and loads of lovely stores selling everything from clothing to furniture, jewellery and even vehicles too!  If you’ve been seeking the perfect Yuletide decorations  for your home then hold onto your virtual wallets and wait until Thursday, when the event opens, because there are trees and trimmings and festive fancies everywhere that will look absolutely perfect in your virtual abode. You know, it struck me as I was exploring that  I really did feel like a little kid again!  I peered through windows and ran into shops to find Santa (there are quite a few Santa’s here) and made a total nuisance of myself by rezzing a Sled from THISTLE HOMES and scooting around happily on it. Incidentally, I strongly recommend this event to virtual families; not only is this perfect for a family outing (watch out for the all the ToddleeDoos!) but there are some fantastic toys to see and play with, from trains happily trundling around Christmas trees to gigantic plushie dinosaurs. There are photo opportunities around every corner too. It’s definitely NOT to be missed!

‘Shabby Chic’ is one of those looks that it is incredibly difficult to get just right. You can end up with a room that looks more shabby than chic for starters, and finding just the right items can be a nightmare. There are lots of fans of this interior styling in-world, and they are guaranteed to squeal with delight when they see this beautiful new release from ATELIER VISCONTI. 

This is the Atelier Visconti Set Vanite, and it will be available at the Christmas Expo 2013. The set includes a large, comfortable chair with matching pouffe and an exceptionally elegant console table.  The detailing on the console is just sublime; it’s a real work of art. The collection is accessorised with a number of bird cages (one static, one hanging), some embroidery prints, an exceptionally cute alarm clock  and a rug to finish.

Every single piece in this collection is textured and shaded exquisitely and is materials ready,  but then again, what would you expect from Stephan Visconti? He’s a designer with great skill and flair, and this is exactly the kind of quality furniture that we’ve come to expect from him. 

The carpet, pouffe, chair and chair cushions can be retextured via HUD so that you can mix and match for your perfect look. There are a number of vibrant colours and patterns to pick from; the red and white selection is especially festive for this time of year. Of course there are poses installed in the furniture too; singles and couples poses that work really well and the cuddles are very nice indeed. It’s a very cosy, stylish and ultimately pretty set that will look great in your home, and can be purchased, as I mentioned before, at the 2013 Christmas Expo 2013 in support of Relay for Life of Second Life and the American Cancer Society.

This will be the 3rd annual Expo and will open on Thursday, December 5th, 2013 at 10am slt, and will end at 10am slt on Sunday, December 15th.  It promises to be a fantastic event, with four regions of Christmas celebrations in a Victorian style. There will be shopping from over 50 vendors (including Stephan, obviously), and you can even visit Santa to have your picture taken!
