EXPLORING AT THE CHRISTMAS EXPO

I’ve had a fabulous time exploring all the shops and spaces at the CHRISTMAS EXPO 2013. There is just so much to see and enjoy! I’ve been really entranced by so many items from creators that I have never encountered before.  

Here’s an example, LAUDANUM LOLLIPOPS, from the designer Felice Nightfire, features some amazing Fantasy items and toys that virtual kiddies will have EPIC virtual tantrums over.  (I wonder if there’s an animation for that? There HAS to be!)

See what I mean? I’m talking dinosaur plushies, rockets, laser guns and elephants, train sets and much, much more. I love it; the colours, the textures, the way the items are designed make this an emporium of Christmas delights for young and old alike. It’s a magical banquet of Yuletide happiness, it really is!  Not only that, but the RFL item in-store for the ladies  is a bit spesh…

           This Christmas mesh frock is yours for L$200, monies which go straight to Relay For Life. It’s a perfect choice for a posh night out in-world; I’ve teamed it with another RFL charity item, the BLIENSEN + MAITAI ‘Tannenbaum’ necklace in White.  Oh, and the little stars are another treat to be discovered at LAUNDANUM LOLLIPOPS-This is ‘Tiny Cosmos’, and these kawaii stars circle you as walk and change their expression as they twist and turn. GORGEOUS!

Festive Fun Galore At SL Christmas Expo 2013!

Guys, I’ve just been having a mooch around the Christmas Expo.

I posted earlier about the event but hadn’t actually had the chance to drop by, and now that I have I must tell you that it’s a bit of a corker!

It’s beautifully landscaped with the build creating a real vintage Christmas feeling. There  is something for everyone here, and loads of lovely stores selling everything from clothing to furniture, jewellery and even vehicles too!  If you’ve been seeking the perfect Yuletide decorations  for your home then hold onto your virtual wallets and wait until Thursday, when the event opens, because there are trees and trimmings and festive fancies everywhere that will look absolutely perfect in your virtual abode. You know, it struck me as I was exploring that  I really did feel like a little kid again!  I peered through windows and ran into shops to find Santa (there are quite a few Santa’s here) and made a total nuisance of myself by rezzing a Sled from THISTLE HOMES and scooting around happily on it. Incidentally, I strongly recommend this event to virtual families; not only is this perfect for a family outing (watch out for the all the ToddleeDoos!) but there are some fantastic toys to see and play with, from trains happily trundling around Christmas trees to gigantic plushie dinosaurs. There are photo opportunities around every corner too. It’s definitely NOT to be missed!

Kitty’s Starting To Feel festive…

Sn@tch Jumper-Sorcha

I’m all about comfort, and I’m all about jumpers at this time of year. I blooming love a nice, warm, soft comfy jumper, as a recent post proves! I don’t own a Christmas Jumper in real life, but in Second Life I’ve just acquired a festive and glamourous wee number that I had to share.  Sn@tch has been in Second Life a very long time, but it continues to go from strength to strength, as the latest round of releases proves. This is the ‘Sorcha Sequinned Sweater’  by Sn@tch, and it’s rather fab. The template is one that is currently being used rather a lot on the grid, BUT I’m not complaining, because I love the baggy shape, bell sleeves and off-shoulder look.  Ivey Deschanel has textured this one in a lovely uniform knit with added sequin sparkle which adds a beautifully seasonal touch to this epic winter-wear.

Of course, Sn@tch is the home of fabulous fat-pack happy as standard, so you always get exceptional value, and there are always consistently  fabulous items to choose from. This sweater pack features ten scorching (see what I did there?) colours for a mere  L$275. You really can’t ask for better value than that can you? Be sure to try a demo; personally I always go for XL because I like my baggy look and find that the mesh fits around the shoulders better on off-shoulder items.  Whatever sparkly sweater you decide to wear this holiday season, you’ll sparkle and glow for all the right reasons, and not because you’ve had too much eggnog!

 I must just mention that Elephante Poses have a rather fantastic sale on until Monday. I really adore the poses that MelissaJeanne Flores crafts. I’m using them frequently at the moment because I’m finding them to be incredibly expressive and great for capturing the look that I am after. The sale is a corker; 75% off the ENTIRE stock in store INCLUDING Gachas! I know right? Not only that BUT but joining the VIP group costs just L$50, as opposed to the normal price of L$300. Squeeee!!!

Yet another fantastic Drax Files from Draxtor Despres.  I can’t believe that we’re on Episode 14 of this amazing series, and I confess I never want them to end!  This time Drax is  taking us on a trip through the art of Rose Borchovski. Hers  is a surreal and enigmatic metaverse experience that merges with reality, enabling Rose to prove the validity of the virtual environment through her work. This is a beautifully edited and intriguing episode of this amazingly popular series. Keep ’em coming Drax!
