Do it til we’re Black ‘N’ Blue

Do it til we’re Black ‘N’ Blue

Need any more persuasion to poddle along to the ‘Black and Blue Fair’? Hopefully this will help to tempt you further in the fair’s direction…I am LOVING this shirt dress from MFP. What I love about it is the detail. The creasing is divine ( as if you could say that about creases in real life!) making it look really authentic and as you can see the colour looks beautiful against a dark skin, which really makes the gorgeous blue colour stand out. I’m still wearing the SIGMA bangles, but I do like bangles in SL for one simple reason; as avatars we have nasty wrist bones that stick out and can look dreadful in some shots, so it’s much easier to hide the offending bones with wrist-wear than have them chopped off:)

The hair isn’t from the fair, but it’s new from TRUTH. Yes, the hair-meister has done it again! This is another of his colour-change streak hairstyles and it’s just sooo immensely wearable and can accomodate so many different looks, for example rock-chick chic or Neko as I’m demonstrating here. The ears incidentally are part of some fair exclusive packages from DREAMS, of which I’ll try and post some more detailed shots over the weekend.

You know, the irony is I’ve never been that fussed about blue as a colour being more of a red girl myself, but the amazing clothes that I’ve found at this event are really starting to make me question my anti-blue stance…

Fadin’ Everything To Black And Blue…

Fadin’ Everything To Black And Blue…

The blogs are all buzzing about the ‘Black & Blue Fair’ that is scheduled to take place in-world between June 4th and July 3rd.

Keira Seerose and her team have organised the event to raise awareness of mental health issues and assembled a wonderfully eclectic collection of items from some of Second Life’s most esteemed content creators as well as some newcomers to the grid. As regular readers will be aware this subject is a cause that is very close to my heart. It’s just over a year since I was diagnosed as Bipolar, and I do firmly believe that my continued enjoyment of Second Life and the experiences that I have in-world contribute a great deal to my ability to deal with the condition.
In fitting with the theme of the event the majority of items are only available in black and various shades of blue, but don’t let this limited colour palette put you off. You’re in for a virtual treat.
You will discover beautiful couture items, skins, hair and accessories, but also furnishings, poses and some amazing discounts too. The venue itself is also rather special; the items are well displayed to maximise your shopping experience with the message about mental health awareness cleverly incorporated into the event without being too apparent. A subtle approach that really works…there’s too much stigma associated with mental illness, and it’s events such as this one that really do make a difference, by educating people and getting them to question their own attitudes towards it. Congratulations to everyone involved, and I will be blogging various items from the event over the next few days. You really mustn’t miss this one, it is going to be VERY busy and I’m sure one of the most talked about shopping events of the year…

Here’s a quick snap to show you the mouth-watering skin from Cstar that is exclusive to the event. The photo doesn’t really do the skin justice because it has the most amazing detail on the eyelids, as well as beautiful eyeshadow, blush and lovely skin tone with sweet freckles upon the bridge of the nose. It also features nice highlighting on the limbs as well as a fabulous electric blue pout. I’m extremely impressed with the work that has gone into it, and wasn’t surprised when the creator Unico Solo told me that it had taken a fortnight to create. I’ve teamed it with clothing from the event for a fantastic beach look…

All items available from Black and Blue Fair 2010 EXCEPT hair (Truth) eyes (Slink) and Shape ( ‘Miss Sporty’ by Kittylicious)

  • Skin is ‘Betty Azul’ by CStar in Bronze 1, Black & Blue Fair edition.
  • Swimsuit is from Alexohol, ‘Rum Runner’ Bikini.
  • Bangles are from Sigma
Second Pride 2010

Second Pride 2010

Swooning over these gorgeous boys on the dance floor… (Zenn Aura and Mus Neox)

It’s Second Pride, so that means gorgeous guys and gobsmacking girlies from all the corners of the grid congregate and celebrate everything Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered with glitter and rainbows and the best tighty-whiteys on display this side of San Francisco.

Second Pride is a well established event in world and it’s always an absolutely fabulous occasion, raising funds for charity through various events, DJ spectaculars and concerts a-plenty. I love it for the DJ sets myself, and I’ve been thoroughly entertained by DJ Kadie Pinkenba tonight, she’s played a blinding set. Second Pride is of course a complete tottyfest and there is some serious eye-candy on display and some absolutely beautiful boys that have been making me drool, and sob in equal measure. I guarantee that you will see some of the BEST looking male avatars on the grid at this event…alas, for me they’re so unattainable, every one! (I’m such a fag hag!)

I’ve taken a few photos of the gig tonight but I don’t think glitter and the grid go together very well, I’ve crashed FIVE times so far (You should see my comments on the crash logger..oh dear!) but I’ve stuck with it because the event is so much fun. Loads of DJ’s are going to be playing over the next few days, but I’m especially excited about DJ Cyberpink’s forthcoming set at Secondpride, so mark your calendars..huge plug alert:

DJ CYBERPINK @ SECOND PRIDE JUNE 3rd 2-4pm SLT ( That’s 10pm UK time)

Go to Second Pride, go shopping, go drooling and go totally gay for the event and have a fabulous time..I know I am:)

Looking Cool In Pool

Looking Cool In Pool

Who says that Kitty Kats don’t like water, hmm? Not me, and I so envy my SL right now because there’s nothing that I’d like more than to have my own personal bum-pool..(If you know me in RL you’ll get the reasoning behind that statement. No it’s not perverted for a change) This rather fine and dandy pose-prop is part of today’s 50L Friday offering from LAP. It features three poses, and there are male and female versions of the pool to choose from. There’re also some pose packs available for those who don’t feel like getting any pool happy-they’re also extremely good. I’ve always rated LAP and today’s offering is probably up there with ny favourite 50L Fridays of recent weeks, but to be honest it’s a mixed bag this week; Botanical have some really nifty fireflies for your land, but fashion wise I wasn’t really feeling it. That said, I’m wearing a swimsuit from Whippet and Buck which is part of their selection for this week, which is a double pack of red and purple swimsuits. Both as exceptionally well created as you would expect from such an esteemed in-world brand…but a tad, dare I say it, boring? Functional and lovely yes, but nothing out of the ordinary. I dunno, perhaps it’s the mood that I’m in today…

Finally I must mention the hair that I’m sporting. This isn’t a 50L item but it is part of the latest Truth hair release. It’s called ‘Sylvia’ and it features colour change streaks! Touch the menu and you have lots of colour choices, and the colour packs also feature non-streaky versions too, which are just as nifty. Great value, and yet more proof positive that Troof is THE #1 hair brand in world. I want MORE streaky hair please!
It’s bacon hair…streaky and delicious. NOM!
