Freebie Mesh Goodness from Jane and Cold Logic

Freebie Mesh Goodness from Jane and Cold Logic

So, any luck getting into March Mesh Madness 2012?  Nah, me neither..which is doing my ‘ead in a wee bit because it features twenty, yes, TWENTY (drool!) of the finest mesh magic-makers on the grid today and promises to be an absolute joy to behold. If I could only blinking well get in. Each time I try the region is full, and I fear it’s going to remain that way all weekend.  It won’t help you in your suffering if I tell you that there promises to be a vast array of mesh only hair, shoes, accessories, clothing, and home furnishings on sale; but I can offer you a wee smidgen of comfort in some fine freebies that are currently doing the rounds.

First up, Jane has sent out this glorious frock to her subscribo group members. It’s called ‘Grace’ and is a beautifully simple frock that you can accessorise into splendidity! ( I think I just made a word up there; go me!). Think scarves, jackets, leggings; the possibilities for dressing up this baby are endless, and Janie Marlowe has been even more generous by sending three colours of the gift to members; Apricot, Khaki and Navy, so there’s a colour scheme to fit every occasion.  I chose navy to illustrate how fab this gift is:

Lush isn’t it? And as if that isn’t enough to moisten yourself over, well you remember the freebie I mentioned was available at Cold Logic? It’s a winter dress, and it’s rather glorious as you can see below:

Again, you get three colours in your gift; Stone, Ruby and Clay. I’m feeling a tad fiery so I just went for the Ruby shade, and it’s lovely isn’t it?

Last up, I also mentioned earlier that there’s a hunt taking place in the Cold Logic store, and the gift is easy to find and well worth your time too.  It’s a spiffing top with fabulous shaping to the neckline, waist and cuffs.

I love how the creasing gives it a real authentic flair..great isn’t it? And again, you get three shades in your gift; black, red and navy. So, there you have it, more than enough treasures to keep you going until you can get into March Mesh Madness! (I wouldn’t bother at the moment though, I’ve just checked the map again..green dot city.  BAH HUMBUG!)

Note: I’m going to try and NOT blog Jane and Cold Logic for at least a few days now..I seem to have become a tad obsessed!

Loving the ‘Cohen’ Jumpsuit from Cold Logic…

Loving the ‘Cohen’ Jumpsuit from Cold Logic…

…fits like a *dream*.  One of the problems with Mesh, as I’m sure readers are aware, is the faff of fitting.  All this rigged and unrigged nonsense and wearing alpha layers; does my nut in. But when results are *this* good it is so, so worth it. In fact I just slipped the medium size on and it fitted me perfectly, and I am in no way a skinny av! Doesn’t it look bloody fantastic? I can’t tell you how impressed I am with Cold Logic, in fact it’s going to become a favourite store of mine, I can just tell.  Prices are on the high side though, BUT I think with Mesh being relatively new still we’re bound to see that.  This jumpsuit is L$425. It comes with two belt colours (I’ve gone for the platinum styling here) and of course there’s a range of fits in the box. As always, DEMO DEMO DEMO. You have *no* excuse not to, and besides, it’s part of the fun:) I’ve teamed the jumpsuit with a Miel necklace I found during a rummage session, and some funky hair from Dura. I love this jumpsuit; I love everything about this store and it practically makes me damp with excitement (Too much info? I care not a jot!)

Note there’s a hunt in store at the moment ( in fact you can almost see the hunt item’s whereabouts in this picture; no it’s not on the board that’s too obvious..durrr) It’s also very busy..but that’s possibly because people can’t get into the Mesh expo that’s going on at the moment…oh yes, MOAR MESH!!!  Anyway, here’s your Taxi to Cold Logic, enjoy the ride!

Stop meshing about!

Stop meshing about!

See what I did there? Read in a ‘Kenneth Williams’ voice:) I know- you missed me!

Well, I’ve been off grid for a wee while and what happens? Linden Lab start doing LOTS of  ‘stuff and things’; like finally introducing MESH to the main grid. A lot of commentators have already, well, commentated on the event, and suffice to say general consensus is that it’s all VERY nice indeed, but we’re a long way off from throwing out our current wardrobes and replacing them with entirely new mesh-based stock. Quite a number of designers are already unleashing mesh-based wares upon the grid, and some of the best are to be found at JANE. Now, I’ve talked about my love for this fashion store before; its propensity towards generosity ( the freebies are quintessentially fabulous) and the way that it doesn’t charge you silly Lindens to look ravishing.

Well, JANE is leading the way with a few mesh based outfits, and I’ve tried the demos and I have to say in big, bold letters…KITTY WANT NOW. Yes, there are problems with mesh (you have to wear an alpha layer, issues with fitting may mean there’s potential towards slender avatars) but I hope theyget these sorted out because when I tried these frocks on and walked in them I could have wept tears of virtual joy and happy the like has not been seen this side of Skegness. ( Don’t ask- random)

First up, look at this tank style dress. ( Ignore the demo banner-‘fraid it’s going to bother the pictures a tad but the imaginative amongst you can see through it I’m sure:)

See the hem? When you walk in this thing it practically dances. It drapes on my (substantial) hips, and not a system skirt or spit seam from 2006 in sight. It is a thing of joy and wonder to behold.

And then there’s this..and I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE NOW (both real and virtual, although alas in real life wearing horizontal stripery of this magnitude will, I’m afraid, make me look very well-fed indeed, if you get my drift:)

This is the most realistic looking jersey dress I’ve ever seen on the grid to date, the texture and the draping that the mesh enables means it looks super stretchy and bloody glorious to be perfectly honest.

I know people are having issues with the official 3.0 viewer, but I have found Kirsten’s viewer to be especially wonderful (as per bloody usual to be honest) and I’m having lots of fun trying on the Mesh booty recommended by the Goddess of blogs, Strawberry Singh. If you need to know more, and by gum you must, then follow the links to all of Berry’s Mesh goodies (She also recommends some fab blog-posts about Mesh that discuss both the potential and limitations of this amazing addition to the grid…)

If you’ve found some amazing meshness out there, please feel free to let us know via the comments below, or poke me in-world. But not with that, I’ve only just recovered from last time; why do you think I’ve been away for so long, hmm?
