Happy New Year!

Thank you all, dear Kittyreaders, for sticking by me through thick and thin. It has been a rough year in RL for me and I’m ready to start 2020 feeling fresh, fancy and new.

It’s my 13th Rez Day on 30th December!!!!!

I never thought I’d be still in Second Life all these years later, let alone still blogging about it but there’s still so much to see, to try and to fall in love with.

I’m going to try to get back into a better blogging routine so I can share more of the best of Second Life with you. I hope to explore the virtual world a tad more in the new year (especially now I’ve got a wonderful new graphics card, thank you to my beloved for that!)

What do I want to see in-world in SL in 2020? More people to experience what SL is truly about. Since mesh arrived I’ve been truly in awe of some of the creations that I’ve seen this year, and mesh heads and bodies have significantly changed the game for all of us. Add Bento into the mix and well, we’ve come a long way baby!

I’m grateful to Linden Lab for keeping this world of wonder going for so long. I do think that in 2020 they need to concentrate on Second Life rather than Sansar, which just hasn’t taken off in the way that they thought it would. Second Life is still turning a profit, so it’s only right that it should be their priority. I want to see new innovations for us avatars to enjoy, along with more benefits for being members. I don’t think that resident opinions are taken account of in the way that they should be either, and I feel that has been the way for far too long. Perhaps the dawning of the new decade will see the changes that Second Life needs to keep growing, expanding and being a place that so many love. I’m proud to be in Second Life, and always will be. Here’s to 2020 making me even prouder to be an avatar!

As long as my arse looks south I will always, ALWAYS buy the releases that Nylon Pinkney (Nylon Outfitters) and her RL sister Polyester Partridge (Yummy) create because they never disappoint. For me, these two designers represent all that is fantastic about our virtual world. They craft such beautiful, quirky designs and they’re just so damn refreshing. The colours they use in their designs, their artistry and the way that they present their work is totally my thing. They continually impress me.

This month at Collabor88 Nylon has released some glorious underwear. Now, for some reason in recent months ( and I know I’ve mentioned this before, but anyway) I’ve become obsessed with virtual underwear. Readers, there is so much good stuff out there, both mesh designs and body appliers, that it’s basically booty heaven. In real life, I’m all about simplicity when it comes to my undercrackers. I’m not the kind of lass who can afford to shop at Agent Provocateur, for example, BUT in Second Life I can live out my luxury lingerie dreams with no problems at all.

If you’re reading this: Nylon, you’re totally an enabler, just putting it out there, LOL!

The gorgeous applier undergarments for Spring which you can grab at C88, come in plain or country lace. I say plain, but they’re anything but. Delicious details abound, suggesting frilly lace and delicate pattern. The sets are Maitreya and Omega compatible, and for some reason, I decided to go for yellow. Not a colour I normally go for, but it spoke to me, and I’m so happy I invested. I feel pretty, girly, fresh and feminine.

I dunno why but these made me feel very happy. I don’t really like the idea of wandering around the grid with no knickers on under my mesh garments, and generally, I mask my lady areas so if anyone tries to cam up my skirt they see nothing. It may sound daft, but comforts me when I see lovely undies such as these on sale across the grid. Why not give these a whirl at C88? Here’s your taxi!

C88: Rainforest Rainforest Rah Rah Rah!

(Yes, it’s a shit post title, my imagination had left the building when I wrote it, OK?)

I really hadn’t anticipated loving this month’s C88 theme, ‘Rainforest’, quite as much as I have. I’ve bought a significant amount of stuff, yikes, but that’s because everything on display at this round has been so hot.

Example: here’s me looking positively ruddy sizzling in a glorious bikini from TETRA. This is the ‘Cryssie’ Bikini, and it features a crossover front with ribbon closure to the back and the neck. It’s one of those items that is incredibly simple, yet when done right it’s an absolute sensation. TETRA is a great brand, I hadn’t realised how much to my taste their clothes were and they’ll certainly be a brand I consider more in the future.

There are 12 options available but I went for a nice plain and simple flesh tone with the intention of dressing it up with the TEEFY ‘Winnie’ sweater, which is precisely what I’ve done and I confess, for the entirety of the week I’ve lived in this outfit. Dirty Kitty.

Last but not least, this hairstyle is a bit of a corker innit? This is ‘King’ from LITTLE BONES, one of three long and lovely styles at C88. I really love their long hairstyles, especially because they come with a HUD allowing you to change the positioning of the hair. It’s an absolute winner if you ask me.

Next month’s C88 theme is going to be ‘Tan Lines’, muted earthy tones rather than an all-out fall extravaganza. I’m looking forward to it immensely, but until September 6th you’ve got the glorious ‘Rainforest’ to enjoy, and I hope you do as much as I have.

The Love Witch

It’s hard to believe we’re almost into February; Christmas only seems like it was five minutes ago, yet at the same time it seems so very far away. Still, there are lots of events to look forward to in 2018, and coming up we have St. Valentine’s Day, where we celebrate the beating, stoning and eventual beheading of this religious martyr…

No, we don’t actually, we celebrate romantic love and all that it entails. Like most real-life holidays and festivals SECOND LIFE embraces St Valentine’s Day with as much gusto as it can, meaning that the grid will soon be festooned in frothy pink and red hearts everywhere, but there’s also going to be some excellent shopping opportunities.

If you like your looks romantic but retro with a modern edge, here’s an outfit to get you going. I’m sporting a beautiful frock from VALENTINA E (perfect place for Valentine’s Day fashion, right down to the name!) in a perfect shade of blush pink, although other colours are available. It features puffy sleeves and a nipped-in, banded waist with a ‘V’ neck to both the front and back, along with excellent creasing and seam detail. I’ve teamed it with some edgy tattoos from NAR MATTARU, and a cracking necklace I discovered whilst mooching around RANDOM MATTER (one of my absolute fave stores in-world for edgy and unusual accessories). My rings are from YUMMY, a brand that is quite frankly on fire at the moment, releasing epic ring set after ring set (and here I am buying them all) and this one is no exception. This is the ‘Sweetheart’ ring set, featuring a ginormous, gem-encrusted heart, along with individual decorated bands and statement rings to adorn your paws in perfect Valentine fashion. It’s available right now at N21 and is available to fit either Maitreya or Slink.

Right, that’s one look sorted for Valentine’s Day. Plenty of time left to change my mind and my outfit a million times over. Watch this space!
