C88: Rainforest Rainforest Rah Rah Rah!

(Yes, it’s a shit post title, my imagination had left the building when I wrote it, OK?)

I really hadn’t anticipated loving this month’s C88 theme, ‘Rainforest’, quite as much as I have. I’ve bought a significant amount of stuff, yikes, but that’s because everything on display at this round has been so hot.

Example: here’s me looking positively ruddy sizzling in a glorious bikini from TETRA. This is the ‘Cryssie’ Bikini, and it features a crossover front with ribbon closure to the back and the neck. It’s one of those items that is incredibly simple, yet when done right it’s an absolute sensation. TETRA is a great brand, I hadn’t realised how much to my taste their clothes were and they’ll certainly be a brand I consider more in the future.

There are 12 options available but I went for a nice plain and simple flesh tone with the intention of dressing it up with the TEEFY ‘Winnie’ sweater, which is precisely what I’ve done and I confess, for the entirety of the week I’ve lived in this outfit. Dirty Kitty.

Last but not least, this hairstyle is a bit of a corker innit? This is ‘King’ from LITTLE BONES, one of three long and lovely styles at C88. I really love their long hairstyles, especially because they come with a HUD allowing you to change the positioning of the hair. It’s an absolute winner if you ask me.

Next month’s C88 theme is going to be ‘Tan Lines’, muted earthy tones rather than an all-out fall extravaganza. I’m looking forward to it immensely, but until September 6th you’ve got the glorious ‘Rainforest’ to enjoy, and I hope you do as much as I have.

Gingham Style!

I always get the most compliments when I wear a vintage style, and as the blog has developed over the years I really do think I look my best when I combine elements of retro styling with more modern items. Here’s an example, this gorgeous shirt from ISON in classic Gingham works ridiculously well with these leather shorts and their sneaky skull detail. The shorts and the collar that I’m sporting are both from this month’s BISHBOX. I opened my box whilst live streaming yesterday, something I’ve finally gotten around to doing after a long time wanting to try it. It was a lot of fun but requires practice and I need to build an audience, but it’s the kind of activity that will get me out of my Skybox!

Unfortunately, I came to the realisation as I opened my BISHBOX that it just wasn’t great. Out of fifteen items, I will probably use just one regularly (The YUMMY collar that I’m sporting in this image) and except for some RAZOR jeans and these shorts, well, to be honest, I was disappointed. The quality of the designers in the box just isn’t consistent, in fact, the texture work on some of the items is incredibly poor. I’m not a design snob, and I realise that the box is only 1500L, but I’ve found this month (and last months) editions incredibly disappointing. At this point, I don’t know if I’ll be purchasing the next one, and if I do it will purely be because YUMMY is in it because I’m a hardcore YUMMY addict! Anyway, watch this space….

But onto the look. I really hope you like it, I think it’s a corker. The base skin is a new one from AMARA BEAUTY, which I’ll be blogging shortly…

Sunday Sublime

A sublime Sunday indeed, especially because of the AMARA BEAUTY ‘Amelia’ skin that I am wearing in this snap. It’s beautiful, and I love it. This is the first skin I’ve tried of hers that features an optional freckles layer, that is accessible via the HUD. I very rarely bother with freckles or moles in Second Life ( I figure I have plenty in my real one) but I may have to keep these on because they’re so neat.

Shantia is REALLY making fantastic HUDS for her skins; this one features an absolute plethora of lip colours, along with some very pretty eyeshadows and all the brow options INCLUDING the ability to tint them yourself. Oh yes, and there’s the freckle layer I mentioned before too.

Oh, another thing, this applier is for CATWA (hence my wearing it) BUT it’s for the ‘Candy’ head, which I don’t have. I took a gamble therefore and used it on my ‘Gwen’ head, and I think the results speak for themselves! I’m not wearing any make-up, just the base layer skin with dark brows in ‘Beige’ tone. Shantia always makes great brows and these frame the face perfectly, but there is a no brow option should you fancy something different. (If you check out my previous blog post you’ll see I’m wearing the same skin but with different brows; it looks very effective and just as good, but in a stronger, more defined way.)

MBA: Teenage Kraze

In real life, I genuinely don’t have much of a shoe fetish but in SECOND LIFE, I really do. It’s not nearly as bad as some people mind you, I know tonnes of avatars who own enough pairs of virtual shoes to kit out a football team a zillion times over, but still virtual footwear is an art form all of its own. There are some absolutely amazing shoe designers out there now, and every single one of your footwear fetishes can be catered to at the drop of a hat. From slouchy boots to towering heels, everything’s available, and that makes me one happy Kitty:) MESH BODY ADDICTS BI-MONTHLY has been featuring some great shoes during recent events ( I featured a cracking pair of Gladiator sandals from ILLI here) and the latest addition to my armoury are these scrummy ‘Kenya’ boots from KC COUTURE. They’re beautifully textured with a big chunky heel and sweep over the foot to a false fastening to the side, which is embellished with fringing and a thin strip of leopard print. Subtle but ever-so-easy to wear and incredibly dressy; these look great with both dresses AND trousers (might I suggest these?) and I love the open toe making them perfect for Spring/Summer wear. These heels include a texture changing HUD with multiple options for a mere 295L.I dressed mine up with a great FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAY find, this ‘Lana’ dress comes from VINYL and features a HUD with 11 colours for just L$50! Yup, it’s an early start for this Kitty, but I think it’s going to be a VERY Good Friday indeed! Happy shopping, and Happy Easter!
