A ‘Kitty Quicky’ – I am absolutely LOVING this hair by DOUX available at EQUAL 10’s first anniversary round. I do love the aesthetic of that sim; it’s very 1980’s/retrowave and looks great. It’s relatively easy to shop around too, not as laggy as some events in my experience. This hairstyle is called ‘Angelica’ and it just called to me, called I tell you. “Buy me, Kitty,” it crooned. So I did, and I’m mighty pleased because it’s a heavenly confection of layers and waves. I’m really feeling the pink at the moment as well, as you can tell from this shot. I hate pink, I genuinely have no clue what’s coming over me? Perhaps it’s the April Pink Full Moon? Whatever, it looks great and I wore it to bed with my new favourite nightwear, available from MISS CHELSEA. It was their FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAY offering this week and if you rush I’m sure you’ll find it still on sale. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

All’s Vintage & Fair!

Vintage is a look that I do pretty well. In fact, some of my most popular posts have been features where I’ve been decked out in retro 1950’s or 1960’s styles. Truth be told it’s a look I like very much so I’m always happy to wear it, and fortunately, you can find lots of places that sell the right clothing to make these decades come to life at THE VINTAGE FAIR 2017

I’d say that about 85% of the participants nail exactly what vintage looks like at this event. You always get participants at events that just don’t seem to get it, but they seem few and far between at this one, which I welcome. I’m so sick of events that have themes that people don’t stick to! Of course, vintage applies to a lot more than just mid-century fashions, and look around and you’ll be delighted to discover clothing from every period of the 20th century, and a little earlier than that in some cases, too!

I needed to get my groove on, so to that end, I splashed out on a beautiful new period hairstyle from ELIKATIRA, along with a new frock (of course in a leopard print) and some spectacular new ZOOM shades. I love my beehives and rockabilly style updos. This ‘Mabel’ hairstyle is a great take on the classic; not too high that it towers and sits uncomfortably on the head, but nice and structured with loose waves that curl over the shoulders.

The dress is a bit special too, it’s from PURPLE MOON CREATIONS and features a sewn on high-waist with button detail, leading into an open shirt with a collar at the top. I love it; the HUD features seven different styles of dress including the leopard print that you see here, along with spots and cherry print too. It’s incredibly wearable and fit well on my Maitreya body, although I did have to alpha mask a few areas.

Last but not least, add some ZOOM shades ( and Y’all know how much I love ZOOM, right?) and there you have it, an absolutely exquisite, vintage look that is incredibly wearable in-world. VINTAGE FAIR runs from June 9th – June 25th, don’t miss it!

One of my absolute favourite things to do in real life is sleep. It sounds ridiculous, but seriously the whole concept of naps was probably written with me in mind. I can’t think of anything better than getting a blankie, a mug of cocoa and even better, a hot water bottle and snuggling down on the sofa to gaze at the inside of my eyelids. Bonus points if a dog or cat joins me too ( they usually do!)It’s natural then that I would re-create this in Second Life, and luckily for me, THE ANNEX has provided the perfect prop at MESH BODY ADDICTS BI-MONTHLY. It’s a simple, draped mesh blanket with a chunky knit texture and a satin seam that makes for some gorgeous photographs..and snoozes! There are 5 options (pink, white, yellow grey and blue) priced at 199L each. Note: There aren’t any poses in this blanket, so adapt it to suit your own (it’s not difficult to do). Right, you must excuse me, I have some sheep to count, once I’ve moved the cats off the bed!
