Introducing….’Sophie’

Introducing….’Sophie’

Just a quicky to tease you, and this one is a PROPER tease!

Let me introduce you to ‘Sophie’, a very shapely avatar indeed. This shape, and a number of other new additions to the Kittylicious range will be making their debut next week..

I’m really pleased with the shapes that I am producing at the moment, and I’m sure you’ll be delighted with ‘Sophie’. I’m wearing her with LAQ skin and hair from TINY BIRD in this picture, why not leave me a few comments and let me know what you think?  ( Yes, she is meant to ‘evoke’ Sophie Ellis Bextor..who I’ve just found out is supporting the PSB’s in Blackpool! WOOT!!)

Feelin’ Blue..

Feelin’ Blue..

..and purple, and yellow, and all colours of the bruised rainbow inbetween!
Thank you for the messages of support that I have read from the comfort of my bed via my netbook, they’re truly appreciated.

I have managed to keep on top of in-world events, which I’ll address in another post, but for now I just wanted to share a bijou lookette with you featuring one of TRUTH’s weekly hair releases.
I haven’t gone for the ‘bacon’ hair this week, but I have fallen for this gorgeous style called ‘Iris‘, which features an optional beaded tie on one braid. The beads are colour change which allows for mixy-matchy happy with your outfits. Braids are so simple yet so sweet to wear, and this colour change feature makes all the difference and really poshes up the braids a tad. I wish I could get my braids to look like this in real life! Incidentally TRUTH has changed the styling of his blog. I heartily suggest that you go and check it out, and I note that there is a forum feature on there now. I wonder if that will allow us to post pictures of our favourite styles along with pleas for him to create them in-world? Fingers crossed!
As well as the new hairstyle I’m wearing a rather nice flannel dress that I found on XStreet which cost all of L$99. Shock horror! It’s a featured marketplace item from TART replete with mod prims, as well as two skirt options (with or without belt). It’s called ‘Dylan’ and it’s an absolute bargain for the dosh, plus it looks great worn with leggings and flats or heels or boots. Versatile wearing at a super-low price. I love checking out the marketplace items and I’m really chuffed to have made such a great find.
I’m also sporting a rosary from HOD which is my favourite place for piercings in-world. I love the little skull prim on this and it adds an edge to any outfit, and HOD’s collection is very well made if you’re on the look out for something unusual to wear.
Finally the skin is ‘Aline’ by LAQ which is my current favourite. I love the shading on this so much, I know I’ve waxed lyrical about it before so I won’t bore you with the details again, but it is a real treat to wear. I’ve teamed it with ‘Litha’, which is my current shape release and even if I say so myself I think it looks perfect with this skin. Of course the shape is a bargain at L$100 to boot!
It’s reassuring to know that while I recover I look good in at least one of my lives:)

Tilly and Tuli

Tilly and Tuli

Two things that have put a smile on my anxious kitty – chops today are these wonders from two of Second Life’s uber-designers..Truth Hawks and Tuli Asturias.
First up we have the beautiful ‘Tanya’ preview skin that is a giftie for group members at the Tuli mainstore (Remember, have your group tag activated) As you would expect from a Tuli skin, this one is beautifully rendered and has stunning highlighting. Just look at the clavicles and the philtrum and see how beautifully they are defined…awesome. The brows are nice and strong and it bodes well for the future release, I cannot wait to see what make-up options will be available!
I’m also wearing the super-amazing latest ‘Bacon’ hair release from Truth ( I call it bacon hair because it’s streaky..geddit?) which is a rioutous affair, it reminds me of Glambert and this shade, Cranberry, looks beautiful with the Tuli skin, don’t you think?
A final nod to Tuli, the eyes that I am wearing are another freebie for group members available in-store. These are ‘Gem Eyes’, I am wearing the Ruby flavour for this shot, and I think they work quite well but I must confess that I’m not mad about the actual texture upon the iris…however, they’re a freebie from Tuli so definitely NOT to be sniffed at, and the gift features five gem colours so there’s something for everyone.

Fadin’ Everything To Black And Blue…

Fadin’ Everything To Black And Blue…

The blogs are all buzzing about the ‘Black & Blue Fair’ that is scheduled to take place in-world between June 4th and July 3rd.

Keira Seerose and her team have organised the event to raise awareness of mental health issues and assembled a wonderfully eclectic collection of items from some of Second Life’s most esteemed content creators as well as some newcomers to the grid. As regular readers will be aware this subject is a cause that is very close to my heart. It’s just over a year since I was diagnosed as Bipolar, and I do firmly believe that my continued enjoyment of Second Life and the experiences that I have in-world contribute a great deal to my ability to deal with the condition.
In fitting with the theme of the event the majority of items are only available in black and various shades of blue, but don’t let this limited colour palette put you off. You’re in for a virtual treat.
You will discover beautiful couture items, skins, hair and accessories, but also furnishings, poses and some amazing discounts too. The venue itself is also rather special; the items are well displayed to maximise your shopping experience with the message about mental health awareness cleverly incorporated into the event without being too apparent. A subtle approach that really works…there’s too much stigma associated with mental illness, and it’s events such as this one that really do make a difference, by educating people and getting them to question their own attitudes towards it. Congratulations to everyone involved, and I will be blogging various items from the event over the next few days. You really mustn’t miss this one, it is going to be VERY busy and I’m sure one of the most talked about shopping events of the year…

Here’s a quick snap to show you the mouth-watering skin from Cstar that is exclusive to the event. The photo doesn’t really do the skin justice because it has the most amazing detail on the eyelids, as well as beautiful eyeshadow, blush and lovely skin tone with sweet freckles upon the bridge of the nose. It also features nice highlighting on the limbs as well as a fabulous electric blue pout. I’m extremely impressed with the work that has gone into it, and wasn’t surprised when the creator Unico Solo told me that it had taken a fortnight to create. I’ve teamed it with clothing from the event for a fantastic beach look…
