Waiting For Your Guiding Light to bring Me Back

Day Two of ‘Kitty’s Week Of Lovely Things’ and I found this lovely bodysuit by TABOU at FROU FROU. It is just so darn pretty that, yet again, I find myself loving and longing for something in my real life, not just my second. It’s a very simple fitted bodysuit, with a keyhole styling at the front featuring a bow, and substantial lace panels to the top of the thing and rear of the suit.   I actually had a ton of fun styling this; it’s just as at home under a jacket as it is a kimono; add a pair of heels and I dare you to wear it to a club! The Eva bodysuit is created to fit Slink, Belleza and Maitreya, and costs L$210. You’ll find it in this gorgeous deep red colour along with four other essential shades: Black, white, a very vibrant pink and a beautiful blue-grey. I think it’s a must-have, what do you think? Snapshot_001

Happy Valentina E Day!

Happy Valentina E Day!

Well, when you shop at VALENTINA E pretty much every day is a good day, and that goes double for her latest offerings at FAMESHED.

She’s released the ‘Meghan’ Belted coat and dress at the event, and they’re delicious. As is usual with Valentina’s designs we’re talking modern styling with a retro twist.  The Meghan dress is, on first glance, a sleeveless style that finishes at the knee with a belt to the waist. Look closer and you’ll see that the front of the dress is unusual; one side draping while the other remains fitted.

The coat is also rather tasty as well: a short, classic mac style with added flair and a bold ribbon bow tie at the waist.  The upright collar gives the whole look a lift and makes for a fashionable finish. PicMonkey ImageI paired mine with a new favourite hairstyle from TRUTH called ‘Lady’ that comes replete with a ton of styling options for the hair and the scarf.  Sadly,  there wasn’t a leopard print texture choice in the HUD, so to get my cat print fix I added some favourite ATOMIC shades.  I look like I should be a Private Detective, or flashing my underwear at passers-by, but in fashionable style, obviously! I told you it was a good round this time at FAMESHED didn’t I?

Be My Valentine?

Be My Valentine?

Is it me or has FAMESHED really knocked it out of the park the past few months? I’ve enjoyed their recent editions more than I have in a long time, and I congratulate them on managing to keep it fresh and fantastic when other events can look stale by comparison. I made a number of absolutely cracking purchases there this round, let me tell you all about them!

First of all, my frock. The dress I am wearing is called ‘Gia’ from REBEL HOPE DESIGNS.  I really like the simple styling that’s accented by fluted sleeves and a lace panel at the rear.  I also really like that it comes with options, us girls love our options after all, and you can choose a delicate sleeve (which is what I am wearing in the photo) and change the colour of the lace panel at the back.  The large sleeve option is very romantic so perfect for Valentines Day, but don’t go near any naked flames, because if you knock a candle over you’ll be barbecue!Snapshot_004.pngOn my tootsies, I’m sporting a pair of GOS’s finest, the ‘Lady G’ pump.  I was hoping for a leopard print or patent, version of these but I couldn’t see one (I am as dizzy as a bat though when I’m shopping at events so that doesn’t mean there isn’t one for sale, although if there isn’t please make them!) so I opted for my ever favourite red.  Now, Lady G is a bit special; GOS describe her as a “… classic high platform pump that is anything but basic. Four shoes in one, choose between a sky-high stiletto or block heel and an open foot or Mary Jane strap..” I opted for the classic heel, thicker and more substantial than a stiletto with a chunky pointed toe (the kind of toe that if you kicked someone in the nethers they’d know about for at least a week) and the aforementioned Mary Jane strap detail across the top of the foot.   Now, one of the things I have always loved about Gospel Voom‘s footwear is the attention to detail.  The texture is spot-on, it looks real and zooming in to check out these shoes is very satisfying.  Look at the clasp, it looks like it’s been fastened properly and you can even see a hint of the fastening bar behind the leather strap. I love the attention to detail like that.   The shoes are equally well textured inside, even though you’ll never see that element because you’ll be wearing them, and they sport branding on the sole.  They’re perfect.

Last but not least an honourable mention: I’m sporting new brow happiness from NAR MATTARU. Jade Glazner has long been a favourite creator of mine and I love her brows as much as I adore her tattoos and skins.  These brows are her latest and how I wish they were mine in real-life, I need more than some ABH brow pomade and concealer to shape these babies! Fortunately, in Second Life I can look utterly perfect, and these TARA brows work beautifully upon my AMARA BEAUTY ‘Hanna’ skin. They come with a HUD that allows you to choose from five colour variations, including a white brow option.  Glorious!

Finally shout-outs to the poses I’m using in this post; first-up for the main shot I’m using a nifty wee pose from AUTHENTIC POSES called ‘Confidence 04’, and the neon heart and pose are from a set called ‘Lovely Poses (Bento)’ by CNZ.  Both are from THE CHAPTER FOUR.

New Skybox, who dis?

New Skybox, who dis?

EntranceAs regular readers will know I’ve been in love with and lived in my BARNESWORTH ANUBIS ‘NYC Apartment’ skybox for an incredibly long time. I’ve virtually resided in it for a good few years;  it was ‘Mi Casa’, and whenever I logged in-world I was immediately familiar with my surroundings, I felt comfortable with the layout and I felt no need to change.  Until I saw the TARTE ‘Primrose Skybox’ at January’s COLLABOR88.  As soon as I saw it I was compelled to have it, and have it I did with gusto! I don’t really know why it spoke to me, but I had been considering a change for a while and this was the kick-up-the-butt that I needed.  I’ve always enjoyed TARTE’s work, and this ‘Primrose Skybox’ is no exception. It’s a simple design, just four large rooms with excellent texture in each, with one of the main rooms featuring a rather splendid 3D design on the ceiling.  It was fancy but had a worn look to it, and I knew it would make a great residence. bedroomSo, yeah, I moved all my belongings from one skybox into the other. It felt a bit strange if I’m honest, and I was a bit sad, daft as it sounds. But it gave me the opportunity to have a tidy up and remove some elements that I wasn’t keen on in my existing abode and empowered me to add more to my surroundings too.   I’ve added tons of plants for a start, and a few new pets courtesy of JIAN’s ever extensive range of creations. I’ve even gone a bit pink! Pink is a colour I struggle with immensely, although I’m starting to be able to cope with it a little more as I’m getting older, and this new home gave me the opportunity to completely revamp my bedroom, using Gacha wins from NOMIaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa_001My living room and kitchen are pretty much the same, as I’m pretty content with them and have a severe lack of imagination when it comes to revamping their layouts, so I just lifted them from my old place and added them, nae bother. Of course, there are cats everywhere, and cat-related themes festoon the place, but what else would you expect from me? As virtual homes go I am really chuffed with it; I feel settled and I’ve always considered my skybox residence as my sanctuary.  Just logging in and virtually slobbing out fills me with a lot of happiness, which is what it’s all about really, isn’t it?aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa_004 (2)If I had to make some changes to the skybox I would have liked a texture change option for the floors and walls; although the textures used are lovely it would have been nice to have a few decorating choices.  I would also have liked an extra room to make into a dedicated bathroom too; I know these are things that some people do themselves but I’m not a creator and I’m not confident doing that kind of alteration myself. But all things considered, these are just minor quibbles; this place feels like home already and I am loving filling it with my junk and look forward to many happy hours spent here.
