I have NO IDEA what to wear for Halloween…

There’s *STILL* so much to do before Halloween, can you believe it’s finally here?! I’m frantically trying to decide on my outfit but failing miserably; there’s just too much choice this year! So, while I try to perfect my look I’m chilling out in my skybox home, experimenting with various make-ups and hairstyles. One thing I absolutely adore about my virtual home is my LARK dresser that is covered in TRES BLAH items from various rounds of THE ARCADE. Of course, there are cats everywhere (how many can you spot in this snap?) along with jewellery and styling products galore. It’s a very Kitty-bedroom!Rummaging around in my many boxes helped me to rediscover a favourite from last year; my Mona Halloween Lingerie from BLACKLACE. Via the nifty miracle that are OMEGA APPLIERS I got to be able to wear this set on my MAITREYA body. Swit swoo huh? Add my go-to NCORE boots in their Halloween edition and I could pretty much out go as is; except I can’t decide which BLACKLACE undies to sport seeing as they’ve dropped another group gift upon us which is just as snazzy..

..see what I mean? This is the ‘Maddy’ Halloween gift , and I’m wearing it in purple (orange is included as well, yay!) I’m also sporting the second hairstyle available at the latest round of UBER from LITTLE BONES while I do the dance of ‘I’ve got nothing to wear’ around my bedroom as the cats stare at me in a bemused manner.

I still haven’t decided on my outfit for Halloween.

QUEEN OF THE CATS

I was determined to tidy up my skybox this weekend. By tidy I mean put away some random things with the goal of freeing up prims for the onset of THE ARCADE. TL;DR didn’t happen; instead I ended up playing around with make-up and lip appliers and dancing around with my virtual cats and basically doing anything but the tasks I’d set myself. So at the end of it all the skybox still looks like a pigsty, there’s still a cat sat in the sink and stuff everywhere BUT I look fabulous.

And by fabulous I do mean absolutely yummy in an exciting and windsept and interesting manner. I’m still wearing my FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAY GLAM AFFAIR skin from a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve added some eyeshadow from it that I picked up at THE VINTAGE & COOL FAIR from LA BOHEME. I wrote a few posts back about how impressed I was with this brand and that still stands.. I also rummaged around in my inventory for a lip applier that would set off the eyeshadow and found this little belter from a collection of pinks that I had in my inventory by ADORED BODYSHOP. Add some IKON eyes into the mix, along with my fave JUST MAGNETISED brows and you’re almost ready…

I say almost because hair is obviously the next logical step, and I thought I’d give my virtual roots a break after the dizzy heights of the VANITY HAIR updos that I’ve been sporting recently. So I went simple and picked up this dandy ‘Torniquet’ hairstyle from MOON. This was their FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAY offering this week and it just goes to show that you should never dismiss FLF for throwing up cracking items. Some weeks it can be a little hit and miss, but never forget to check it out just in case you miss something that you’ll spend your weekend kicking yourself over. (I speak from experience, I’ve done it many times so I now have a reminder in my phone to tell me to check out FLF, it helps!)

To finish I added a FOXES jumper (that was their contribution to August’s MIX event) and a skirt from JUST BECAUSE, a group gift that is rather smashing indeed!

And then I sat on the floor and played with my cats. It’s a hard virtual life…

I’m starting to experiment a lot with longer hairstyles in my Second Life, and I must say I’m really enjoying myself. I’m really pushing my own boundaries, and constantly bagging demos of styles that I think will not look right on me at all, and then guess what? I try them and BOOM! They look fantastic. Case in point is LITTLE BONES. Like SPELLBOUND, they’re a quirky brand with a really funky, modern edge. The creator, NOVA MONROE, keeps a really great Tumblr that you must visit (she has great taste in music) and her photographs really leap off the page. She has great fashion-sense, is absolutely oozing with street-cred and attitude and all of the styles that she has released this year have been exceptional, with each one really adding something to a virtual world that is already teeming with excellent hair designers. I’ve been trying more and more of her styles recently and I am really loving what I see. Colour and texture clearly matter a great deal to Nova and she gets both elements just right in her creations. In this shot I’m wearing her latest release for KUSTOM9, called ‘Rusted Aero’ (which sounds like a very deviant sexual practise) and it’s a beautiful, loose over-the-shoulder style that manages to look elegant yet messy at the same time. Elegantly messy it is then, and what a treat to wear!

I’m also modelling some jewellery from JEWELRY FAIR 2014, this time from a brand called GEWUNJO. I confess I’d never heard of the brand before and I think with a name like GEWUNJO I’d remember them, but I’ve been impressed by Andy Berenohn’s work. This KALZANG set is available at the event and features earrings and necklace that are both HUD controlled to change metal and gem colours. I think these pieces are bold without being over-bearing; they’re chunky and well made but sit well on the avatar and are easy to fit. They make a statement without being too ostentatious and look perfect teamed with this loose hairstyle and a simple shift.

Last but not least, a shout out to the eyeshadow that I’m sporting. You guys know how much I love my defined eyes, right? Well I discovered this gorgeous Kali eyeshadow at the latest round of GENRE. It’s by the ADORED BODYSHOP and you get five colours in the pack for L$100. I’m wearing the gold option in this shot and I really love it. The sweep of colour across the lid teamed with the dark shade that finishes in a perfect cat eye shape is really rather special. Of course if I wasn’t wearing such an awesome base skin it just wouldn’t work as well, but the bold brow shape on this NAR MATTARU ‘Skye’ skin looks as though the two were meant to be together!
