Slip into something comfortable from THE MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR

Oh the joy that a new operating system can bring. I would tell you the saga of how Windows 10 almost broke me (because it decided that it didn’t like my Nvidea graphics card) but that would be boring. But that’s the reality that I’ve been living the past few days. There’s been some serious swears Chez RL Kitty that’s for sure, and it’s put my blogging back a few days. It’s a shame because I’m actually finding Windows 10 to be incredibly tasty; and it’s actually performing some kind of Witchcraft which is making my Second Life experience much better than normal, BUT I’m still experiencing hitches galore.

Beloved has done some sort of jiggery pokery but until the problem is properly addressed by a patch from Microsoft I fear my activities are going to be somewhat hampered; already my machine has failed twice in the past two hours.  (The glitch itself is incredibly annoying too; my monitor basically shuts down and refuses to allow me to switch it back on.  My speakers working just fine show that behind the blackness my PC is running just fine though, and sadly the only way to restore service is to perform a reboot.  I shudder to think what this is doing to my hard disk.)Kitty Bedroom_004Anyway, enough of my kitty-complaining, I still have niceness to share with you from THE MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR.  In fact, the item I’m sharing is perfect for returning home after an epic shopping trip. What could be nicer than coming home and kicking off your shoes, then running a luxurious bath before slipping into something comfortable to wear while you binge-watch Netflix or read your favourite book in bed? Sure sounds tempting doesn’t it? Snapshot_002Well,  here’s a simple yet really lovely camisole/dress from DOLLLE to wear once you’ve completed your ablutions. I have blogged DOLLLE before and I do like the label very much; they seem to offer a very nice line in relaxed mesh attire that’s easy to wear and style. The mesh is really well engineered and offers a good fit and the texture choices are sound too.Snapshot_005I’m also wearing the latest skin from ZOUL CREATIONS in this snap; this is the simply scrumptious ‘Iza’ which has been released at the incredibly popular ‘WE LOVE ROLEPLAY’ event.  ‘Iza’ is available in 4 tone packs for 420L each, which include 2 tones each and 5 brow options.  Demos are of course available to try.  As always Shantia Soulstar has created a plethora of applier options for you to choose from; with body appliers available for EVE, Lolas, L. Inc, Maitreya, Omega, SLink, and WowMeh, 0L each. Iza Eyeshadows includes 10 colours, 70L. Iza Lipsticks includes 10 colours, 70L.  (I’ve cheated a bit and because there aren’t any appliers for PXL Sweet Lips with this skin, I’ve just used my PXL Sweet Lips appliers from Shantia’s ‘Della’ release and they work a treat!)
Anyone care to come and wash my back? Bueller? Anyone?

It’s Here! The Mesh Body Addicts Fair 2015

Snapshot_002So THE MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR is in full swing now guys and gals, and there’s a magnificent multitude of mesh apparel for you all to enjoy!I decided to hit up the fair but couldn’t quite figure out where I’d put my keys, which sent me into a bit of a tizzy, but fortunately they turned up before I had a massive Kitty melt-down and I was able to set off for my visit. Actually, I’m fibbing a wee bit because I already had some amazing items from the fair and I’ve used some of them to create the perfect outfit to go shopping in!Snapshot_005 What do you need when you go on an epic trip? Lightweight clothes, a roomy bag and sensible shoes. I managed to meet a couple of those criteria and head off to empty my Linden piggy-bank in super Second Life style! Let me tell you about my look, because I think it’s a bit of a winner if I do say so myself..  I’m still sporting ZOUL CREATIONS ‘Della’ skin and MURRAY hair (‘Giorgia’) because I just love them so much.  I mean just look at them; they combine effortlessly to make a truly great base to build your look upon. So let’s move on to the main part of my outfit which is a tunic from VINYL. I’ve shopped at this store before and really love it.  You know it’s going to be a good store when items are packaged as vinyl records and coffee; seriously guys the packaging is exceptional, but of course it’s what is inside that counts, and I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed.Saturday CollageThe ‘Isabel Tunic’ is the VINYL release for the fair, and I think it’s exceptional.  It’s a great tunic, featuring a lovely shape and a realistic lived-in base texture that you can choose to wear with or without a graphic design. I really like this; I wore it on my MAITREYA LARA body and it fitted very well with just a few alpha adjustments. The base texture itself is nicely done featuring good detailing and the graphic option which I think lends a Boho feel to the top.  It’s rather pretty, in fact, and extremely wearable. This tunic  is available with cords or without; my preference was without for today’s outfit, but it looks absolutely fine with them. You can change the colour of the cords(and the bows on the sleeves) via a neat little HUD. I also like the fact that it’s a v-neck too.
I raided my inventory for something a bit special to pair it with and remembered I had this cracking skirt from BLUEBERRY that has a texture change belt. I figured it would be ideal to wear with the tunic and I was right.  I think  it looks great worn with this VINYL top, they’re a really good match tonally and look as though they were made for each other!  I needed to embellish my outfit so chose to accessorise with a necklace from ……….. which is available along with some other select pieces at THE MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR. This is a very simple chain with a lotus shape on it; perfect when you need something to wear around your neck but you don’t want anything too fussy that would draw the eye away from your clothing. This  FOREVER FAMOUS ‘Lotus’ necklace fits the bill perfectly with its delicate feel and simple, yet well-designed shape.   I love that this is available in a variety of metal finishes and  because I could choose a rose-gold finish it meant that I could match it to the eyelets and buckle on my BLUEBERRY skirt. (It’s the little outfit details like that which make me a very happy Kitty indeed!)
I further accessorised with my absolute favourite bag this year, the ‘Haight-Ashbury’ from REVERIE that I purchased at INDIE TEEPEE. I’ve never been big on bags in Second Life, but this one has really changed my mind because it really is special. It’s always a conversation piece and I’ve had a great number of compliments for it when I’ve been wearing it during my grid-wide travels. I’m also sporting a watch/bracelet combination from REIGN which was a Gacha prize and I’m also swinging my GIZZA key-chain with gusto while I try and remember if there’s anything else I need to pack before I go…
Last but not least are my shoes. Remember a few moments ago when I wrote that you need sensible shoes on a shopping trip? Yeah, these are anything but sensible, but I care not a jot because they are lovely. These ‘Bucharest’ shoes by ESSENZ are incredibly substantial and I imagine they’d be satisfyingly heavy on the foot. They really deserve to be zoomed in upon and admired too because they’re so perfectly textured; you can even see stitching which is really going the extra mile for detail. You can change the colour of the sole and the metal of the zip at the back should you wish. I think they are pretty awesome, ticking all the boxes for shape, texture and desirability. They make me want to wear a flashing sign above my head that says “LOOK AT MY SHOES! WORSHIP THEM!” because they’re *that* good. Trust me, you need them in your life and you’ll find them in twelve fabulous colours to fit both Maitreya and SLink High feet.  Team them with my VINYL tunic and my exquisite FOREVER FAMOUS necklace from THE MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR and you’ve got three must-have items already from this event and it’s been not even been open a day yet! Here’s a complete Kitty shopping list for your delectation, and with that I must go and break my Linden bank-account with some more serious shopping! Enjoy!

My Name is Kitty, and I’m a MESH BODY ADDICT

Mesh Body Addicts Fair Maiden Top by MasoomThe MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR is almost upon us and I know this event has been eagerly awaited by so many across the grid. The Fair opens Midnight 1st August 2015 and will close 11pm August 21st 2015, and it’s going to cater to mesh bodies, obviously, but will also cater to mesh heads too; in fact there will be a myriad of mesh items that will be served by this event.  There will be items for both male and female avatars and content will include both fitmesh and applier mesh body fashion items such as clothing, skins, accessories, make-up and tattoos, shoes and  much, much more. Ooh the excitement!
It’s definitely one to relish, and I will be covering the event extensively here on Kittywitchin’, but as yet I haven’t succumbed to replacing Kitty’s visage with a mesh head so you’ll see mostly clothing rather than make-up from the event (with the exception of any lipstick appliers for PXL Sweet Lips that I may find) on these pages.  I own and adore the Maitreya ‘Lara’, Belleza ‘Isis’, ‘Freya’ and ‘Venus’ bodies as well as my beloved SLink ‘Physique’ and I’ll incorporate items for all of them into my  forthcoming blog posts. For my first post from the MESH BODY ADDICTS FAIR I’m sporting the ‘Maiden’ top by a brand called MASOOM. This is a very revealing little number with fancy sleeve detailing. The sleeves are fastened by delicate gold chains and you will find it available in Coal, Ruby or Rose (a nice pink hue, not shown) at the event.  I’ve teamed it with some utterly outstanding TRES BLAH denim from UBER SL , and an old favourite LITTLE BONES hairstyle, producing a finished look that is casual with an edge that’s enhanced by my stunning DELLA Skin by ZOUL CREATIONS.

(Incidentally, there’s going to be a photo contest that you can participate in during the event.  Have a think about what kind of pictures you’re going to put together while you’re waiting for it to open…)

Comic Book KittyIt’s always a bit tough looking at photos on Flickr because so many times I’m not just absolutely blown away not only by what I see but by the knowledge that my images will never come close. Not that I’m seething with jealousy, but it’s fair to say that a lot of the best visual artists who post their Second Life snaps to places like Flickr also have access to some of the best photo-processing kit you can buy, the jammy chuffs! This doesn’t detract from their achievements because there are some truly talented Second Life photographers out there who deserve our praise and admiration, but what can we do to make the best of our photographs if we don’t have access to Photoshop etc? Well, you can do a lot worse than check out PICMONKEY. I’ve been using it for a few years now and I absolutely love it; it’s great for adding oomph to my pictures along with text, stickers and filters and is just the ticket for quick tidy-ups and tweaks. I pay a few dollars every month for a pro account, and it’s one of the best things that I’ve ever done. I don’t just use it for Second Life either, I use it for my real life pictures too, but there’s no doubt in my mind that my blog would be a lot less interesting without it!
Something that I really enjoy is the theme area of the website. Picmonkey provides a variety of themed items including text, filters, stickers, fonts and everything you need to make pictures that really come into their own on occasions like Christmas and Halloween. You can have hours of fun adding ghoulish tints to photos or hanging baubles on images for home-made Christmas cards.
I’m particularly enjoying their ‘Comic Heroes’ theme at the moment. It features a selection of visual options, such as newsprint, that you can use to decorate your images, along with graphic-novel inspired fonts. The results are excellent and you can knock up a fun image in no time at all, which is what I have done with my LOTD shot for today!
Actually, I wouldn’t have messed around with the picture had it not been so light-blown when I took it but I just couldn’t get the right windlight setting. Fortunately, by using some of the Picmonkey features I’ve been able to turn my image into something that really does belong on the pages of a graphic novel! (Quick Kitty-Note: There are two graphic novels I urge you to read at the moment by the way: ‘Saga‘ and ‘God Is Dead‘. Both of these are amazing and you will thank me for recommending them, I promise!)
Of course, my picture is just a way to display the urban touches to my look. The majority of my items are from this month’s round of UBER which is continually jam-packed and with good reason, it’s an absolute corker with practically every contributor getting the theme spot on. In fact, my look is exactly the same as the one I was wearing in my previous post, with a couple of exceptions. First of all, check out this jacket by PIXICAT. Yes, PIXICAT strikes again with another awesome item, this time a perfectly rendered jacket. I’m thinking I should stop talking about PIXICAT because I’m not on their payroll, but it’s very hard not to talk about Areve’s work because it’s just so damn good.
Reason to like this ‘London’ Jacket? Well, first of all, it’s incredibly easy to wear, and I found that I was able to layer it over other items very easily without other mesh coming through. It’s available in pattern and prints and the range of options is very solid indeed. What I really like however are the sleeves; it’s much easier to spot this on the plain versions of the jacket but take a good look at all the creases and folds in the fabric. It looks as though the sleeves have been pulled up and dropped down suggesting a worn feel, which I’m really liking.
I’m also wearing yet another new hairstyle (I’ve bought so much hair this past month it’s unreal, and has been incredibly painful to my Linden balance!) but this one is from a brand I’ve never worn before. The brand is DOE, and the style is called ‘Puddin’ and is obviously a homage to everyone’s favourite psychopathic ex-girlfriend, otherwise know as Harley Quinn. I could have opted for traditional Harley Quinn colours, but I know that I’ll get more use out of brown shades, especially ones with dipped options, and that’s what I plumped for. I love the shape of this hairstyle; the ponytails on either side are perfect and I love the little curls that flick upwards. I like how the fringe is over to one side too meaning you can show off your brows. I think this is as close to perfect-ponytails as I’ll ever get in-world, and I’m especially chuffed with them!
Last but not least are my spectacles which are actually about five years old! I doubt very much that you’ll find them anywhere. I bought them in 2011 and they’re from a brand called DECEMBER which no longer seems to exist but they’re so well made that they stand the test of time. You know, if I was a content creator from a few years ago and someone was still wearing items I’d made after the fact, I’d be pretty chuffed, wouldn’t you?
