“Time for bed,” said Kitty..

Ok, try not to focus on the fact that I sort of look like a foxy Mariella Frostrup clone in this picture ok?
What I’m actually wanting to share with you is the beauty of this ‘Darling’ bodysuit that I’m wearing from Sn@tch.

This is just a really simple, slightly dressy lace item and you can of course add layers to it should you wish, but I’m finding it works just fine in a beige or gold shade against my Cocoa LAQ Martine skin. Pretty sexy isn’t it?
There are people in Second Life who go the whole hog when dressing, y’know underwear and outerwear just like in real life, but I’m way too lazy to be one of those I’m afraid.  Look, in a virtual world you CAN go to bed with your boots on!

Anyway, back to this bodysuit, it features buttons on the sleeves and back, but they’re just part of the texture rather than prim, which suits me just fine. Ivey has provided ten sensational colours in the pack which retails at a pretty reasonable L$275 and I think it’s ruddy delightful and set to be a virtual wardrobe staple.

But I also adore the SUR + bodysuit too; this is kind of a dressier take on the style and just oozes class in an almost 1930’s Hollywood way. Yes, I have blogged this before, but it certainly deserves a second take..(click for larger version)

Of course, if you really can’t decide which one to wear, how about you buy them both and then just mix ’em up a bit?  Works for me! I’ve taken the rose belt from the Sur+ bodysuit and I’m wearing it with the gold bodysuit from Sn@tch.  I think I look..priceless:)

Incidentally, the backdrop to these photos is my beautiful new Mudhoney bedroom set at my gorgeous new home, which I shall tell you all about very soon!

Bobs Are Like Buses…

Bobs Are Like Buses…

You wait around for a nice swishy-wishy funky-wunky (yes, I’ll stop that now) bob and whadda y’know? TWO come along at once, and both are bloody scrumptious.

First up we have the more conventional of the two: this is ‘Minzy’ by Magika (Good job it wasn’t called ‘Mimsy’ or I would be making all sorts of inappropriate jokes) and it’s pretty much a classic bob, but with more volume and bounce created by adding some shorter layers to the sides and a glorious side-swept fringe. This comes with a HUD so that you can change the colours of both the main style and the streak, and you can even have the fringe parted to the opposite side, should you fancy. You can’t really go wrong with Magika hair especially at L$199 for an 8 colour pack (packs are sold in colour themes, so for example if you purchase the ‘Blondes’ pack you get all the blondes, obviously) I confess I am completely in love with this. It’s so easy to wear, looks just perfect against all the skins I have in my inventory and will mix and match with many an outfit. Pure Second Life bliss, and when you walk it moves beautifully too. More swish than Cat Deeley on acid!Moving on we have a splendid new style from Truth, called ‘Nahla’.  (Click picture to enlarge) Truth is, as we know, the hair God in SL, and this latest release does nothing to wrench that title from him..it just sets it in stone even further. He is a clever sod.

Now, I guess you couldn’t call this a bob in the strictest sense of the word, because it’s shaggier and has much more layering, BUT it does kind of roughly equate one so shush. Either way I’m writing about it because it’s effing fabulous! I mean, JUST LOOK! It comes with two fringe styles; a side-swept fringe like Minzy (Oh I so need to call it Mimsy!) but also a full-on Grizzly Adams style chunky can-barely-see-through-it fringe too. There’s tons of definition and shape due to the amount of layering, and again movement on this style is just divine. You also have a streak option with this as well, but it’s a tad pricier for a pack, setting you back L$250 for a 5 colours BUT it’s definitely worth it.. This is just the ultimate in groupie and bed-head hair really isn’t it?
So there you have it..two delicious bobs ripe for picking.

Which one will you choose?

Baiastice at The Dressing Room Blue

Baiastice at The Dressing Room Blue

If you had to ask me who my favourite designers were in Second Life it would be difficult but I’m sure I’d manage to come up with a list eventually. It’d probably take me some time; like a couple of weeks, but I’d get there eventually.

However, if you asked me who my favourite haute couture designer is I would have just one answer: Sissy Pessoa. Sissy is the designer behind Baiastice, and she creates catwalk creations worthy of any fashion week in real life, let alone second. She has an amazing creative imagination and her designs range from the sublime to the seriously avant garde, but all have a common thread; they’re totally on-trend.
So I was delighted when I discovered that one of her creations was going to be on sale at ‘The Dressing Room Blue’, the sibling store to the original discount designer emporium that features fresh and funky items from SL’s premier designers at knock-off prices. And at first glance, this is one fancy frock that certainly doesn’t disappoint. It’s called ‘The Kristel Dress’ and it’s just L$70. It’s black and white and features an asymmetrical structure, with separate arm cuff and sleeve attachment. It’s a bit of a corker to look at and I would love to say it was a corker to wear, but alas;it features that big-bottomed SL avatar’s worst enemy: the system skirt. Oh system skirt, how I fracking LOATHE you. This dress looks fantastic on my top half, hence the picture, but on my bottom? Let’s just say it made my derrier look like an overweight zebra in distress. Totally, utterly gutting. Isn’t it time we all kicked the frigging system skirt to the kerb?! Seriously, an end to the damned thing is long overdue. Not all avatars are waifs in Second Life; I like my round pixel bum which isn’t excessively large by any leap of the imagination, but put me in a bleeding system skirt and I look like I should be in orbit around a gas giant. It’s so disappointing because this is a GLORIOUSLY funky frock, but because of the system skirt I can’t wear it, unless I shave a ton off my derrier and that’s not really the point is it?
And that’s not the worst bit; around the corner from this dress you’ll find a pair of shoes that match perfectly, the Nardcotix Absinthe B&W heel.  They’re fantastic, featuring a lovely white kinda sparkly-but-not texture on the main body of the shoe and a flat bow style attachment covering the heel. Perfectly posh and also just L$70. Yes I am wearing them in this photo but you’ll just have to take my word on how good they look because I am NOT showing you my bottom in this dress. Yes I am sulking..I’m having a kittyfit. Toys out of the pram and everything…
Anyway; if you do have a bum that’s considerably smaller than mine then you may want to give this beautiful dress a pop, and so you should, but be warned, system skirts can make the skinniest of avatars look like they’ve had a field day in Wilson’s pie shop but at just L$70 it’s worth a gamble. Here’s your taxi to The Dressing Room Blue.
Baiastice; I adore the label, adore the styles but I desperately want a special big-bum division please:)
