Kitty’s Luxebox Review: March 2017

Kitty’s Luxebox Review: March 2017

This month’s LUXEBOX  is really a bit of a corker.  Being on a limited budget,  I’ve had to be careful with the subscription box purchases that I make in-world ( the only one that I ABSOLUTELY must have is Powder Pack.  Oh, and Bishbox! Argh, see that’s two already!) so I haven’t purchased a Luxebox for a few months, but I’m so glad I have done this month! Why? Well, watch the videos to find out.

In Part One,  I talk about the releases from Ison, Azuchi, Foxes and Tres Blah. It’s professionally done, as all of my videos are.. ( No it isn’t, it’s an absolute farce but I care not a jot, I have so much fun doing these!) (I’ll add parts two and three once they’re uploaded!)

Here’s Part Two, where I try on Stories & Co, Teefy, Lamb and Moon’s contributions (they’re all rather fab!)

In Part Three I talk about the builds from Tarte and Scarlet Creative, and the lambs from Mish Mish that are squeeable!  I think it was a really great Luxebox this month, what did you think?

MBA – A Quick Video Preview

I feel a wee bit deflated.

I’ve not been in Second Life for just over a week; it’s been a self-enforced exile for an exam that I’ve taken today.  It was a tough, five-day course and I’ve done so much reading that my brain hasn’t stopped buzzing yet.  It’s not just bee this week either; my night shifts have been filled with courses and swotting up of the kind that I haven’t done in twenty-five years.

I did well in tests and mocks up until this afternoon when it was crunch time.  Guys, it was hard. I honestly don’t know if I passed.  To make matters worse, there are just 8 questions. The best answer scores 5 points, second best 3 points, then 1, then 0. You must score 28/40 to pass, that’s 70%.

I came home after the exam feeling a little like I’d developed a thousand-yard stare. Then I had a nap, woke up and ate some Chinese food and logged in-world, and did what any sensible person would do, I went shopping.  There’s so much to enjoy in-world that I was pissed I’d missed out last week, especially when you consider that it’s SKIN FAIR 2017 time already! I just hope my missing the start has been worth it, I’ll know in about four or five days’ time…

Anyway, I’ve found some lovely things at MESH BODY ADDICTS to tell you about, starting with this corking ensemble from HUCCI. I’ve done a quick video and I’ll post some more highlights over the weekend.  I’m also wearing the latest group gift hair from TRUTH; this is ‘Zoya’.  It’s an absolutely cracking hairstyle and he’s given away some belters for Group Gifts in recent months.  He’s also giving away a L$150 store credit to VIP Members to celebrate hitting 12k group members…Yowsers!

The sorry saga of the Seul ‘Patched Bomber’

The Seul Patched Bomber is available at the latest round of Uber. Looks great,  doesn’t it? I’ve never had an issue with the brand before, and loved the look of the jacket so, because of the lag, I opted not to demo and threw my Lindens in the vendor’s direction before getting the hell out of dodge!

OH, MORE FOOL ME! Alas, this jacket has issues that a session on a Psychiatrist’s couch would struggle to fix, and I’m not the only one to complain about this; dropping L$300 on a jacket is not to be sniffed at and I’m pretty disappointed because this had the potential to be an awesome item.

Unfortunately, it is a bit of an epic fail.  Watch the video to find out why. (Incidentally, if you wonder if boobie size would make a difference, it doesn’t. I played with the sliders and small norks don’t lessen the faults)

Kitty@Home: Stockholm & Lima’s Perfect British Christmas

Kitty@Home: Stockholm & Lima’s Perfect British Christmas

table_001So as regular readers know, in the past few weeks RL got in the way and dropped a blinder on me. I’m getting back on my feet and although I’m still feeling winded by it all (and it will take me a while to recover) I’ve found so much solace in Second Life in recent days.  (I’ve also received some lovely messages of support, so if you’re reading this please know that your words have made a difference, and I’m grateful for them:)
To cheer myself up I’ve decorated my skybox for Christmas/Yule. It’s funny how we do that in the virtual world, isn’t it? Mind you, it’s a lot easier; no broken baubles, tangled lights or pine needles stuck in the carpet, or even worse, the sole of your foot!
Unlike some of the wonderful interiors that you would see on the pages of LTD mine isn’t themed nor is it especially grand, it’s just your regular lots of red and green tinsel and lights  for me and Jez to enjoy, but hey, I am enjoying it, and I will continue to do so for the rest of the festive season.
I’ve got all kinds of Christmas goodies stashed away in my inventory that I’ve collected over the years. Some I’ve had to throw out, but some I just can’t bear to part with even though they use more prims than an entire homestead in their construction! But something I definitely wanted and never had was a proper Christmas dinner set-up, and you’d be surprised by how difficult it’s been to source one. I didn’t want anything overly fancy, just the kind of super-informal setting that you’d enjoy with family and friends before crashing out on the sofa and watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special.  (It had better be good this year BBC, you’ve been warned!)British Christmas GachaKey
I found just what I was looking for at STOCKHOLM & LIMA. Granted, this was actually released in December 2015, but it’s still available and absolutely worth your time and Lindens; I haven’t found anything quite as good this year, which has surprised me, but no matter; the detailed mesh is perfect for my needs. (I mean, check out the sprouts and the Yorkshire’s  what more could you need?!)

I fancied a slightly different table and chairs to my usual favourite BAZAR set; so I ventured over to THE LOFT where I found this ‘Roxanne’ set.  The table is especially nice with a lovely, chunky wrought-iron base and the matching industrial style light feature (just out of shot) really looks the part.  I picked up a texture change table runner while I was there, along with some tableware and voila! My work here is done:)

  • STOCKHOLM & LIMA ‘It’s A British Christmas’ Gacha machine is L$50 per play, located in main building. It’s on the left as you walk in, third section down, next to ‘The Alchemist’ Bar set.
  • THE LOFT ‘Roxanne’ Table, chairs, rug, wall word-art and lighting feature (not shown) are all available as individual pieces or a set.  Table runner and place setting are part of the ‘Casolare’ range in store.
  • PILOT  Tall candlesticks,
  • R(S)W  Votive candles
  • ARIA Giada drawer cabinet
  • TARTESSOS ARTS ‘TA212’ NY wall art
  • AMUSE  Wine bottle (which dispenses filled glasses that I’ve used on the table)
