I had a mooch around SANARAE earlier, and shock horror, I *really* enjoyed it! I’ve found it a little too eccentric for my tastes in previous rounds, but this time, shock horror, I actually bought a few scrumptious things!  I got my summer on and splashed out on this bikini from INDENTED.  It’s called ‘Rayne’ and rocks a bang on-trend frill that covers the funbags area, along with the piping crossing the body that connects the brief. It looks great on, although as per usual my brain can’t disconnect properly so starting thinking about tan lines, and how you’d have a real problem if you wanted a wee. This is not an outfit to get drunk in, trust me! Also at the event, I spied a collar that said ‘Kitty’ on it, so how could I resist? It’s from SUPERNATURAL and is really well detailed, there’s even a clasp and chain at the back.  I’m still sporting my ever fantastic CODEX gloves from the KINKY event, but I’ve taken off the claws element (using the HUD included) so I can bare my red nails. Last but not least I nabbed this pose from SHINY SHABBY.  There wasn’t too much that caught my eye this month, but I confess I was enamoured by the ‘Feline’ poses by XXY and purchased those, one of which I’m using in the snap above.  I have to say though that I’ve not used poseballs in years, and was surprised when I opened the package that’s what it contained.  Still, no matter, I think the end result was totally worth it. Incidentally, the INDENTED bikini really sparked my interest, so I popped along to the store and I’ll definitely be paying it a second visit.  (This is what events are good for folks, they DO get traffic to your main store!)aaaaaSnapshot_002**SaNaRae runs until 18th July**

All’s Vintage & Fair!

Vintage is a look that I do pretty well.  In fact, some of my most popular posts have been features where I’ve been decked out in retro 1950’s or 1960’s styles.  Truth be told it’s a look I like very much so I’m always happy to wear it, and fortunately, you can find lots of places that sell the right clothing to make these decades come to life at THE VINTAGE FAIR 2017

I’d say that about 85% of the participants nail exactly what vintage looks like at this event. You always get participants at events that just don’t seem to get it, but they seem few and far between at this one, which I welcome. I’m so sick of events that have themes that people don’t stick to! Of course, vintage applies to a lot more than just mid-century fashions, and look around and you’ll be delighted to discover clothing from every period of the 20th century, and a little earlier than that in some cases, too!All's Vintage And Fair!

I  needed to get my groove on, so to that end, I splashed out on a beautiful new period hairstyle from ELIKATIRA, along with a new frock (of course in a leopard print) and some spectacular new ZOOM shades.  I love my beehives and rockabilly style updos.  This ‘Mabel’ hairstyle is a great take on the classic; not too high that it towers and sits uncomfortably on the head, but nice and structured with loose waves that curl over the shoulders.

The dress is a bit special too, it’s from PURPLE MOON CREATIONS and features a sewn on high-waist with button detail, leading into an open shirt with a collar at the top. I love it; the HUD features seven different styles of dress including the leopard print that you see here, along with spots and cherry print too.  It’s incredibly wearable and fit well on my Maitreya body, although I did have to alpha mask a few areas.

Last but not least, add some ZOOM shades ( and Y’all know how much I love ZOOM, right?) and there you have it, an absolutely exquisite, vintage look that is incredibly wearable in-world.  VINTAGE FAIR runs from June 9th – June 25th, don’t miss it!

This week saw the release of the latest BISHBOX.  Along with POWDER PACK, It’s the only subscriber box that I pick up every month. I was incredibly excited to discover that the theme this month was ‘Bad Kitty’, as you can imagine that ticked ALL my boxes, but unfortunately, when it came to the opening and reviewing of the contents there were only a select few items that I really enjoyed.  In fact, this is how disappointed I was: I recorded a vlog and then deleted it. I just thought I sounded incredibly miserable and negative, but the fact was, there was so much scope and yet most of the participants had gone for the same old ideas.  I felt let down and disappointed. There is a lot more to creating a cat aesthetic than masks, PVC and collars.  True, it’s a theme that has been done to death in Second Life but I was ready to be wowed with some super original content and that just wasn’t the case. Now I’ve had a whinge there were a couple of stellar items that I really enjoyed, and I’ll feature those in forthcoming posts.

In other news, UBER has some interesting offerings this month. It’s an event I find a little hit or miss in the extreme. When I finally manage to get in I either go mad and buy all the things or harrumph and roll my eyes as I slope off home in a sulk.  This month saw me buying a few items but I don’t think it’s up to the usual standard. That said, the ‘Yonder Eyes’ from IZZIE’S are well worth checking out if you want to up your virtual eye game; the colours Izzie has created are beautiful.

Can you see a theme developing here? In fact, that’s something I’m seeing reflected in other events and offerings across the grid; is the virtual shopping bubble about to burst? Nah, I don’t think so.  Don’t forget that it’s almost Summer and people tend to hang out more in real life once the weather gets warm.  Yes, designers have real lives too you know!

Well, clearly I AM! Just check out these rather dandy shorts with strap detailing from I ❤ F & CO.  for MESH BODY ADDICTS BI-MONTHLY. I really like the shape of these, they’re short with cut outs on each hip and strap embellishment that you can remove if you so wish.  Why would you though? They look super fashionable and team up perfectly with my FOXES Vintage Tied Tee from a previous LUXEBOX round.  I’m still wearing the same hair, skin and make-up as seen in my last post, but I’ve changed the colours.  This is most noticeable on the hair, where I’ve selected a dazzling shade more fitting to my attire. I told you the new TRUTH hair textures were a bit good, didn’t I? Last but not least, another MBA contribution in this pic are the ‘Lust’ nail polish appliers from ZOZ and the pose is another one that I spotted earlier from REVE OBSCURA, this one is called ‘Love and Peace’.
