Under Your Love Spell

Under Your Love Spell

Hair by Truth, Lingerie by Muse from Moon Elixir.

Something I could REALLY get into in Second Life, and I think I’ve confessed as much on these pages before, is virtual lingerie. I sure do like me some fancy knickers and bras, and if you throw in a corset and some stockings you’ll definitely have me doing a virtual happy dance.
I like my fancy under-crackers in real life too BUT honestly, quality bras and knickers literally cost a small fortune, so there’s nothing fancy in my real life closet. But in my virtual closet? There are items in there that Bordelle and Agent Provocateur would fight over. To be perfectly honest quality mesh lingerie isn’t especially cheap in-world either, but at least I get to wear it in one of my lives, right? The latest round of KINKY has hit the grid and it’s one of those events that I visit but the majority of items on display don’t really appeal or have any relevance. I’m not a virtual lover so the equipment that I tend to see sold at such events holds little interest for me. Granted I may giggle and look aghast (“YOU STICK THAT WHERE?!”) but I won’t be walking out with a suitcase full of equipment, although I’m happy to report that when I visited there was plenty of patrons in attendance and more than a few were clearly interested in this month’s offerings. I visit purely for the lingerie, and this month I’ve been made more than happy by the inclusion of a simply scrumptious set from MUSE, a lingerie label from MOON ELIXIR. For a start it’s called ‘Love Spell’ so I kinda had to have it due to the name alone, but there’s so much more to this outfit than mere romantic alchemy. Think ribbons, lace and a sublime boned corset with a bra that doesn’t as much allow your nipples to peek over but yell “I’m over here and require your attention NOW!” This outfit is just one of those items that you put on in your virtual bedroom and admire yourself in. Well, that’s what I’ve been doing for the best part of the last hour and I’m not even close to being tired yet. It’s just absolutely bewitching and wonderfully sculpted with great attention to details such as the shape, seams and lace application. You can even purchase matching stockings and shoes to fully coordinate the look. If you have the Linden dollars to spare I highly recommend that you splurge and fat-pack EVERYTHING if you’re able. Alas, I had to be selective so opted for a lovely beige nude shade called ‘Tawny’ ( I totally did not buy it because it reminded me of owls. OK I might have done..) but even if you just invest in single pieces you’ll find that there are plenty of ways to make your look unique, with huds that allow you to change the colours of various elements such as the ribbons and the corset boning. I found that changing some items to a black trim, such as the boning in the corset, added an edgier feel to an otherwise classic look. You can also elect to hide the ribbons as well, should you so wish, but I chose to wear mine in their full on ribbon glory. I honestly adore it. I am completely entranced and it definitely has me under a spell (all puns intended with no shame!) I think if you’re looking for something super romantic for Valentine’s Day then you’d be daft not to at least demo these pieces. It is quite honestly just a lovely set of lingerie to own and wear, and if you’re so inclined I urge you to visit KINKY in-world to get your paws on it, and view the variety of other wares this month that may tickle your fancy! Let’s Get Some Shoes

Let’s Get Some Shoes

I can never say the word ‘shoes’ without this going through my head..anyway, it’s Shoetopia, and if you want to buy some sho..erm, footwear then this is the event to visit!

I had a very brief flit around and saw some pairs that caught my eye; not all of them for myself but I could see plenty of friends wearing.  In fact,  if I’m being honest there were only a few pairs that appealed to me especially, although there were some cracking male shoes this year that I’ll get Jez to tell you all about.  The shoe styles I did like though will be featuring in some of my future blog posts, starting with this pair, ‘Raquel’ by DEAD DOLLZ. These are a classic high heel design with a simple but very effective ruffle on the back; they’re fancy, but not OTT, and the gentle criss-cross toe bar and elegant ankle strap balance them perfectly.   Also included are hosiery socks to wear with the shoe via HUD, featuring 12 colours and on/off feature.  Incidentally at FAMESHED this month there is some coordinating hosiery to complete the look (which I’m wearing here in my picture) too. I’m also sporting some BAIASTICE lingerie in this shot too, the lovely ‘Guepiere’ set in lace black, also available at the latest round of FAMESHED. To finish my look I added my NERIDO ‘Chic’ Bolero jacket along with my AVAWAY ‘Gwen’ ribbon corset choker. (All basic kitty look details can be found HERE) Incidentally, the pose in this photo is NOT from the pop I’m sprawled across, it’s from the ‘Saucy’ shoe pose set by INFINITI which is also at SHOETOPIA.

Jumpers For Goalposts@ UBER

It is frigging FREEZING in the UK at the moment. As I write I’m pretty much snowed in, but instead of feeling all warm and cosy about it I’m feeling grumpy. It’s -6 at the moment, and I just don’t like the cold. I don’t like the heat either, I’m happiest at a nice median temperature.  I like my weather like I like my porridge, not too hot, not too cold, but just right.

Speaking of which, I’ve found something just right whilst out and about on my virtual jollies; a glorious off the shoulder jumper dress by ROWNE.  It’s called ‘Charlee’ and fits my Maitreya Lara body perfectly out of the box.  It features an excellent cable texture and those on trend, chunky, ever-so-slightly ballooned sleeves that everyone’s wearing.

A simple dress needs a simple hairstyle and I found a beautiful style by MINA to accompany my dress, also at UBER.  This is a low slung ponytail, with backcombed volume at the crown and a loose side-swept fringe.  You can wear it over either shoulder via HUD, but I couldn’t help feeling there was a lost opportunity here; if you can style it over either shoulder, why not offer the option for BOTH ponytails at the same time, adding even more versatility to such a great look?

To finish I slung on some shades that I picked up at REWIND, these ‘Dahlia’ shades in Ombre are a classic shape but have added 90’s zest from the heart motif on the left lens. After adding some old favourite boots and a wardrobe staple, my BOOM ribbon choker I was good to go!

Be My Valentine?

Be My Valentine?

Is it me or has FAMESHED really knocked it out of the park the past few months? I’ve enjoyed their recent editions more than I have in a long time, and I congratulate them on managing to keep it fresh and fantastic when other events can look stale by comparison. I made a number of absolutely cracking purchases there this round, let me tell you all about them!

First of all, my frock. The dress I am wearing is called ‘Gia’ from REBEL HOPE DESIGNS.  I really like the simple styling that’s accented by fluted sleeves and a lace panel at the rear.  I also really like that it comes with options, us girls love our options after all, and you can choose a delicate sleeve (which is what I am wearing in the photo) and change the colour of the lace panel at the back.  The large sleeve option is very romantic so perfect for Valentines Day, but don’t go near any naked flames, because if you knock a candle over you’ll be barbecue!Snapshot_004.pngOn my tootsies, I’m sporting a pair of GOS’s finest, the ‘Lady G’ pump.  I was hoping for a leopard print or patent, version of these but I couldn’t see one (I am as dizzy as a bat though when I’m shopping at events so that doesn’t mean there isn’t one for sale, although if there isn’t please make them!) so I opted for my ever favourite red.  Now, Lady G is a bit special; GOS describe her as a “… classic high platform pump that is anything but basic. Four shoes in one, choose between a sky-high stiletto or block heel and an open foot or Mary Jane strap..” I opted for the classic heel, thicker and more substantial than a stiletto with a chunky pointed toe (the kind of toe that if you kicked someone in the nethers they’d know about for at least a week) and the aforementioned Mary Jane strap detail across the top of the foot.   Now, one of the things I have always loved about Gospel Voom‘s footwear is the attention to detail.  The texture is spot-on, it looks real and zooming in to check out these shoes is very satisfying.  Look at the clasp, it looks like it’s been fastened properly and you can even see a hint of the fastening bar behind the leather strap. I love the attention to detail like that.   The shoes are equally well textured inside, even though you’ll never see that element because you’ll be wearing them, and they sport branding on the sole.  They’re perfect.

Last but not least an honourable mention: I’m sporting new brow happiness from NAR MATTARU. Jade Glazner has long been a favourite creator of mine and I love her brows as much as I adore her tattoos and skins.  These brows are her latest and how I wish they were mine in real-life, I need more than some ABH brow pomade and concealer to shape these babies! Fortunately, in Second Life I can look utterly perfect, and these TARA brows work beautifully upon my AMARA BEAUTY ‘Hanna’ skin. They come with a HUD that allows you to choose from five colour variations, including a white brow option.  Glorious!

Finally shout-outs to the poses I’m using in this post; first-up for the main shot I’m using a nifty wee pose from AUTHENTIC POSES called ‘Confidence 04’, and the neon heart and pose are from a set called ‘Lovely Poses (Bento)’ by CNZ.  Both are from THE CHAPTER FOUR.
